@@ray.shoesmith Lol, Bowen was better, simple as that. Unless you decide by stats, which is not fair as Slater was on a better team. Put Bowen in the Melbourne team, and his breaking every record there is. Bowen is on par with Thurston. Not many cowboys fans pick Thurston over Bowen. These two are like the modern day wally and langer.
@@ray.shoesmith So your only argument is being picked for origin and Australia? Instead of how good each play the game? I think slater is around 4th best ever. Bowen 3rd best ever. Greg inglis 1st, Turbo Tom second. Let me guess you think slater is better than Greg inglis at fullback too?
Early in Billy's career, the Storm were set to play the Dragons in Wollongong. I went to the university sports centre for a game of tennis with my mate. I walked into the foyer with my racquet slung over my shoulder and ran into Billy with what appeared to be 2 trainers/officials. As I approached I called out "Billy Slater." He and the officials turned around and to my surprise the officials had a look of serious concern on their faces. Billy just smiled. I told him that I thought he was a champion, shook his hand and wished him luck against the Dragons. It was only later when I was pondering the encounter that I realised why the officials were concerned. Imagine two big guys with tennis racquets slung over their shoulder approaching one of your star players. It makes me laugh when I think about it now.
He's is the best nrl player in the world and I no so much about him because this Australian sport and I'm Australian and in Australia he plays for storms maroons and kangaroos
+Daichi Dallas It's actually where you play your first u16 rep game, at the time, he had been selected for the Bowraville/Hunter Sports team but instead relocated with his family and started playing for Wavell high on the gold coast But it goes both ways NSW second best halfback in Peter Sterling was born and grew up Toowoomba, it goes both ways, much like the sims brothers who grew up together and align with different states Very grey, needs to be more set guidelines and followed
giteausuperstar so origin is QLD vs NSW 3 games every year, to be eligible to play for that state you have to play junior footy with that state, so therefore slater is from QLD so is eligible to play
You always hear about Cameron Smith & Billy Slater as being future immortals, & even having a statue outside the ground in Melbourne. Cooper is always the poor relation & left out. Yes Smith & Slater are great, but while Smith was taking the conversions, who was always talking to the team, getting ready for the next play, & keeping their minds on the job. Who delivered most of the passes & kicks which made so many other Storm players look so good? ...... and who has been to a second club & been a big part of them winning a premiership? I'm not a Storm, Roosters, or Maroons fan, but Cooper Cronk= class, decency, skill, a great role model for kids, & top level performance under pressure. Which of the other 2 can tick all those boxes?
When I compare Billy Slater against Matt Bowen Matty is far more skilfull had all the kicking game passing individual brilliance and was actually faster.
God I hate Queensland. And the Storm. And by extension this guy. But he is the best. Ever. There's no denying it. Credit where it is due. Why couldn't you be a Panther champ?
