Got a bit of a soft spot for these, particularly the flat-fronted ones without the connecting door. Used to ride them all the time growing up on the Worcester-Hereford line. That growling roar of the engines on starting from a station is just so satisfying to me
I’ve been on one of these, only once though from Liverpool to Manchester and it was a Northern train, it was rather slow at 75 mph and it stopped at almost every stop, but the ride was enjoyable, I didn’t dislike it.
These are the class 150 trains 🚊 are currently allocated to 4 separate train 🚆 companies are GWR - Great Western Railway 🚃 , LNWR - London Northwestern Railway 🚃 , NT - Northern and finally TFW - Transport For Wales 🏴. 3 car 150 trains 🚊 are 150/0, 2 car trains 🚊 are 150/1 trains 🚊 have gangway within unit are all currently allocated to NT - Northern except class 150137/139/141 are currently allocated to LNWR - London Northwestern Railway 🚃 and 2 car trains 🚊 are 150/2 have gangway throughout are currently allocated to GWR - Great Western Railway 🚃 , NT - Northern and finally TFW - Transport For Wales 🏴. 👍
Remember these trains brand new in Cardiff to replace the old slam door 116 units 35 years later they are about to be replaced by trams good old workhorses that have had a hammering on the valley lines for so many years
I like these ones but absolutely hate the seat configuration. Much prefer the 2+2 that we get with the newer ones! Edit, I'm starting to warm to them, I'll be honest! I'm always surprised at how fast they can go sometimes!
