Glad you enjoyed it. Furnas is my birthplace. The most beautiful village in the world. What you ate is called cozido das Furnas. Very similar to other Portuguese cozidos with the exception of how it's cooked. Cozido das Furnas is unique in the world. It's cooked under the ground by the heat and steam of the volcanic soil. Delicious!!!
@@josephrego2527 yeah I got video of them pulling them out. then we went up the hill where the town sits and waited for the food to be brought into town. Amazing place. Saw the tea nursery and a bunch of views. had to catch a plane so I couldn't see whole island. Definitely going back with some friends
Ray, I found the best way was the taxi. Those drivers know they way around and they spend a little more time with you. The other is rent a car, you can't get lost. I hope you enjoy it.
This video brings back beautiful memories of my birthplace. During my first 9 years, July and August were always spent visiting with family in the town of Furnas. The idyllic beauty and simple majesty of this place has been forever etched in my memory.

@@mahmoudelkhattab1380 i havent been there in 22 yrs but usually june-august is the tourist season. Great weather but alot of tourists. Im the type of person that likes to avoid the peak season due to the tourists. I suggest u google. That way U can get the temperature for each month & what not. But i guarentee u wont regret it if u go. Ppl are so humble & friendly, food is deeeelish, & the environment is breathtaking
If anyone wants or is going there, I have a trusted friend from generations there who do whole tours of the island for 100 bucks. Which is unheard off. He even pays your meals and drinks. He's an amazing dude and will pick you up from airport. Also for historians, he knows stuff about the island that most tours don't know about. Born breed São Miguel.
