I really don't understand the people that say F1 is more dangerous. They're much faster, but a circuit is specifically built to be safe at fast speeds

Well I think the difference is that in order to win in f1 you need to be on maximum attack the whole time, meanwhile in rallying you can have a good result if you just drive carefully and consistently

F1 is the pinnacle of motorsports in terms of engineering and driving skills. BUT.... for rally you also need big balls.

I like to believe NASCAR and Formula 1 are in controlled environments. While races like touges and rally racing are more of a battle against the elements.

​@@__chaudharysaab__driving skills? Ur joking. They drive round perfect tracks in cars designed perfectly for those conditions. Being fast obviously takes a lot of skill and I respect the drivers but they're only gonna be fast on a clean track and in an f1 car. Put a rally driver in any car in any conditions and he's gonna have a lot more skill than the f1 driver.

Many drivers wouldn't be here without huge improvements to safety equipment in all motorsports. Grosjean in F1 in 2020 hit the barriers at 200kph, the estimated deceleration was 67G. The safety cell saved him from serious leg damage, HANS device saved his neck from snapping and HALO cut through the barrier saving his head from serious injury/decapitation and then the fire/heat resistant suit saved him from serious burns. That's 4 different ways the guy could've been crippled or died in about 30 seconds of that accident. He escaped with minor burns to his hands and ankles.

@@cinyarko HALO is great improvement, but still it cant protect you from small stuff like spring that can hit your head (Massa Hungaria), or an impact from above (Max Hamilton Monza) but we are talking about rally here, the car itself looks safe enough to me, but how about the windshield ? what happen if they went to fast and some tree branch just puncture the windshield and hit the driver, its unlikely in F1, but i also dont know how strong this rally car is...

@@rotua98 I watched a video a year or two ago where a sharp branch went straight through the windscreen. Fortunately it went through the centre. Half a meter on either side and somebody would have been run through. It was pretty scary to watch and I'm guessing two changes of underwear would have been required once they got home.

Ford literally just came out with a new rally car a few weeks ago.

They usually stand in the least likely locations for a car to end up, but it is a pretty dangerous spectating sport, yeah. (Like the insides of turns, or the straights)

I think rally spectating has gotten safer in recent times. There are many risk-free spots with stewards to watch the rally cars. But you know how some fans can be. 🤪

They do crash tho and they had the biggest crashes in 2020, absolute car snashers, really improved their crashing ratio in 2021 but they still do crash, I don't know why this video doesn't show those, this only show hyundai crashes with dashcam video. Fiestas always crash tho, every season.

Just saw a few crash over the years maybe they have better suspension setup it just eats whatever the road condition is and thier top drivers ofcourse.

@@connorcampbell5274 The last generation car (2017-2021) had a 1.6L Turbo engine, paddleshift gearbox and lots of aero. Fast car in the corners. The new 2022 car still has the 1.6L engine but now has an electric motor making them a hybrid. They have less aero now and a simplified sequential gearbox. Slower in the corners. Heavier car too.

@@darrel.cooper that is better for entertainment though. less aero for the drivers to lean on will make them have to really commit to a line and slide the cars more. while the cars are heavier the hybrid will either negate the effects or improve the 0-60. Keep in mind i interpreted you're comment as negative so i apologise if i am wrong

@@wildone8397 I did not say that rally is dead. They are running in Finland right now. The WRC Plus era (so the cars that you saw in the video) is finished. Now we have new cars called "Rally1".
