We bought an ecotemp for an outdoor shower... it turns on, has hot water for about 5 seconds and then goes cold. We've discovered if we turn it off at the switch and then turn it back on, we have hot water again for 5 seconds. We've called ecotemp, they've sent us a new unit and same thing. Now they are not returning our call. Any suggestions? We've checked the psi and have sufficient water pressure. Thanks.
That's really unfortunate. I swear by mine. Are you in a windy location? I have noticed that wind can tend to blow the flame out so you may want to build a wind shield of sorts if so. Also, check for debris up inside. Sometimes leaves or insects can climb in there and short out the circuit between the flame and gas. Sorry for your experience!
I have the same problem! Have you found anything out? The company pretty much tells me sorry about your luck..... I tried a new pump, that didn't work. New hoses, that didn't work. Everyone loves this unit and i can't figure out why..... for now we just turn it on and off every 8-10 seconds or so :(
Hey man so I'm getting one of these but the Campflux brand. So I wanted to run it into a sink along with the original shower head . So for the sink you don't recommend mixing the water from the heater and cold water ?
Not really. When you mix it like that it minimizes the pressure coming through the heater and the heater will tend to shut off. I just set the temp of the hot on the heater to be comfortable but still hot and ran either all hot or all cold.
We had problems with Eccotemp L5 igniting. Their customer service troubleshooters could not solve the problem. We gave up and bought a Camplux heater which works fine. My opinion is Camplux is a superior product and Eccotemp is a piece of junk.
