Glad to see you covering this absolute banger. And Bas's "proper cup of coffee from the coffee pot" is such an old-man bar. You hear old folks complaining all the time about all of the fancy coffee drinks and they're just looking for "a proper cup of coffee." No younger ghost writer would know about that.
There is no way their pen isn’t in this. “Pull out the nank and a man gets carved like roast” I haven’t heard of anyone younger than a boomer cooking roasts! No one has families that big! Tons of little things and how things are phrased. Some of the flows come straight out of old jazz scat and such. Jazz had rapping waaaay back. It wasn’t hiphop, but they were doing it. “How could they come up with stuff this complex?” Yeah, because there are no old poets. Yeah, Nine and Dex are helping. Absolutely. But there’s stuff in these that just… yeah. People saying it’s a grift… where’s the money?! A RU-vid video and single here and there to a pretty niche audience? A Doritos ad. One Doritos ad.
@@GretchZ what sort of friends and family do you have that they dont make a roast every now and then? only 2 people in my household and we make roasts quite often. cant beat a good Pork or beef roast with some potatoes and carrots.I know teenagers who make roast dinners lmao
"CLOCK him with my pocket WATCH" love that bar. i don't care what people say about ghostwriting, there are references like pocket watches that are only from people over a certain age. there's usually a few of them in their songs.
I'm never sure with these guys if things are coincidence or intentional, but im sure you realised Pete's last verse was a P & B rhyme scale. P&B, Pete and Bas... if that was intentional, then, DAMN!!
@@HennythingGoes you right.. I hope these guys live to be the oldest ppl ever cus I just wanna see how high they can go with their constant improvements and shows of versatility.
This is a proper banger, love to see you enjoying it as much as we did. Regarding their past, it doesn't seem as if they were into shady stuff according to this interview from four years ago Bas lives off of his pension after being a notary. They met in a store while Pete was checking its alcohol license and Bas gave piano lessons to the owner: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XBvmn5IhOds.htmlsi=xYgy20V4AUFl1sj5 Even Nine and Dex show up in the video, as they were helping them with booking shows back then. Dex is introduced as Pete's nephew. They might be lying to cover up their mafia past but why would they lie and then disclose the dark stuff in the lyrics such as Golf or this one. It's an interesting rabbit hole for sure lmao
@@HennythingGoes I'm here for the music and they certeinly created interesting personas. It was nice to have a glance at the real people behind the art, especially the bit of Bas showing his family, crib and playing the piano while singing a capella. Gotta love the geezers!
Bas owns his own notary company, he's still listed on the website. Semi-retired I think. He was never a real music teacher, it's s just something he's done since being semi-retired. It could be a cover story though 🤷♀️ He even made a piano album not so long ago. Not so gangster 😅
I used to climb onto the balcony of a friend’s place at night and just break in. Walk into his room, “Hey!” Just be sitting on his couch when he gets home.
I was today minutes old when you mentioned subscribing and realised that i hadn't, That has been rectified and i apologise for not doing so sooner. Now to the Reaction. Thank you. :P
If you want to listen to the song uninterrupted the link is in the description. We’d advise to not watch reactions if you don’t want to see people react. Thank you
