I hope this helps everyone get the villagers they want! I should have clarified that the rumor about OG villagers not being able to move is false. I guess I didnt say that lol. Also, These are best practices to get the right villagers to leave, but doesnt always guarantee the outcome you want. much better than just hoping though. The whole process is a mess and Nintendo really wants you to get Amiibo cards.
TagBackTV instead of ignoring the villager I wanted gone I annoyed them! I excessively talked to them until a squiggle appeared over their head (I think it was about 5-7x in a row). Talking to them after the squiggle appears, they’ll say something like “i can’t talk now” or “I have to leave”. In just a couple days of this I saw them walking around with the thought bubble and they wanted to move out! Way faster than ignoring them and way cheaper than buying amiibo cards! I found this method on tiktok and didn’t think it would work but it did!
@@moj8295 doesn't really work. been testing all the supposed methods for weeks. The ones in the video are the most reliable. Also the longer the villager has been around the easier it is to get them to leave, regardless of what you do.
TagBackTV well it worked for me. The villager I kicked out hadn’t been on my island for more than a week but it took literally 3 days of excessive chatting for them to want to leave
*my villager trapped with fences and pit falls, that i never ever talked to* “God i love this island!!!” *My villager that I made a royal garden for, has her own part of the island, I talk to everyday* “Get me off this island right this second.”
Omg im with you on this !! One of my villagers came up to me and told me they want to leave and that pissed me off for the whole day 😒😒😒 lmao LIKE EXCUSE ME. NO
I think it's endearing that you want to Stockholm Syndrome them. I guess you don't feel repulsed by the ugly villagers, or maybe you haven't had ugly ones come through.
I’m pissed, every single time someone wants to leave, it’s always a cool villager I like. The ugly ones are getting too comfortable *cough cough* ED AND HUCK (Update: HUCK FINALLY MOVED OUT, THANK THE LORD) (Update again: Audie moved in, shes cool so far)
@CLOVER PANSEAR Yeah I know right?! What I've been doing is going ion islands with nook miles when the villager is gone in hope of finding a villager I don't hate! It worked so far! 😅
I'm stuck with Hans, Ricky and Soleil. Even though I want Ricky and Soleil to finally move out, I would rather keep them forever instead of having Hans for another week.
I started with Rocket and after 4 days... I just couldn't get around to liking her. So I reset for Cherry and also found and invited Audie within my first Nook mile tours. Audie should be moving in once its 5 AM.
Yes! Scoot was one of my starting villagers and he was actually the very first one who naturally wanted to move out! (I wasn’t bullying him or neglecting him and didn’t time travel at all!)
That’s because the best way to actually get unwanted villagers to move out is to non stop talk to them lol! So that’s what’s happening with you favorite villagers Instead just over talk to your least favorite villagers until they get annoyed and within a week they’re gone
I found a way to get rid of villagers in less than a week and I saw this from a comment on tik tok so i cant properly credit them but thank you whoever you are 😌✨ People say reporting a villager to isabelle doesnt work but it truly does when its done right. This has worked for me 4 times now and didnt work 1 time so it has little chance of failing. If you report ONE villager everyday for 3-4 days in a row they should ask to leave on the third or fourth day. Once a villager asks to leave it will take a week before another villager can ask to leave so you cant use this often for people who dont time skip but this worked for me most of the time and i thought id share, loves. 💕
@@jehovahsthickness6086 She's a lovely character and really added some spice to the village, but she'd asked before and I really just wanted her to be able to go out into the big wide world and explore
@@rex2559 Not neccessarily. My first Campsite Villager (the one you're kinda forced upon, if I'm correct) was the first of mine to ask if they should move out.
That's kind of hilarious. I'd make sure the game doesn't save right beforehand and then immediately quit out of the game if they say something other than wanting to move.
@@matthewballew9313 Oh no, I mean you wanna make sure the game doesn't want to save itself while you're doing it so you have to make sure it's not going to right before you talk to them. Faulty wording on my part, but that's the idea.
Peaches never left her pri-er, fenced-in home until a KK Slider concert happened. She attended that concert, but that was the one day I didn't mind cuz I thought maybe the game programmed her to be there. But, uh... *She's never been home since and she's never in her barricade anymore.* Edit: I finally got Peaches off my island. Good riddance.
The only villager I've had that wanted to move out was one that was literally giving me presents and interactions etc. everyday. I think being overly friendly affects it too. I was shocked and told him not to go. Meanwhile I have a few villagers I'm ignoring and nothing has happened.
that happened to me with one that I was really friendly with and loved, but I wanted someone new so I let her leave and she was replaced by one I hate lol
My og villager was named coach and as the next month came by, he decided to leave the village because there was a villager I wanted and she said something about coach wanting to leave so I decided, why not because I didn’t think it would matter
"You need to neglect your villager for them to move out" *Sees my beloved Marshall wanting to leave after gifting him everyday* Me: MARSHALL! MY SON?! WHY?! WHAT DID I DO WRONG?!
you actually CAN get rid of original villagers! one of my original villagers was thinking about moving out (lucky for me cause i wanted a new villager) and they actually left! it is sad seeing originals leave, but it is possible :)
Actually the quickest way is to talk to them...too much. Once they’re outside talk to them until they are bothered by it and they’ll get a little dark squiggle next to them and will be shocked if you talk to them again. They’ll get creeped out and want to leave within a few days. I did this with Lucha and anchovy lol. That’s why villagers you do like and that you do talk to will actually want to leave sometimes. Ignoring them prolongs the process unless you’re time traveling too far. This done not take months and doesn’t require time traveling. :)
I did that too not knowing what I was doing and I talked to my favorite villagers to that point and then in the following days only those two wanted to leave. So I think that method can be effective. Not sure if it was coincidence but they were literally the only two I did it to and they both wanted to leave so idk seems like a good way to me lol
I haven’t done this but tried time travelling to get rid of Rodney without speaking to him, and it failed miserably. All the villagers I loved most constantly wanted to move instead, which made me think that this could be true.
Additional tip: Save before going to the campsite. If they choose a villager you dont want to leave, close and restart the game till they want to ask the villager you want gone. Worked for me and Kyle asked Sheldon (even tho Sheldons a good boi, but I have three squirrels haha) so try that out if you want!
One thing to note, if the villager that moved in is the one you want to kick out. Talk to them at least once to greet them to the island, otherwise they'll always be waiting to be greeted, and won't have the thought bubbles to leave.
I don't recall talking to Timbra (the fugly sheep that moved in without my permission), but I'll have to risk it and talk to her now... thanks for the tip.
*Got my stubborn og villager out by getting a campsite villager to suggest her to leave. *fencing in doesnt always work because they can spawn outside of it. Especially if you have an event on your island. * thought bubble is sometimes them just asking something or wanting to give you something * make your campsite nicer and they come more often i found. I just placed a couple of items next to it and have had them more frequently *the report villager thing is just to reset the villager if someone taught them to say something inappropriate or gave them offensive clothing. *if the campsite villager suggests the wrong person dont finish the conversation and CLOSE the software. Then go back and do the whole chat again they will change who they suggest. If it not the villager you want to kick just keep repeating the above till they do
omg i wish i knew this when i got ketchup T-T she wanted to kick whitney out and i didnt want her to leave but ketchup seemed so cool so i accepted if i knew this i could've cyrano gone earlier T-T
So not only did my villagers just teleport out of their houses after fencing them in, but when one had a white thought bubble above their head, they just asked me if I wanted a clothing item. Maybe a little more research is needed before definitively claiming methods as fact.
I tried fencing in Al while he was still in his house and a few hours later he just showed up in the plaza?? I double checked and the fence was still there lmao, so I'm convinced that he is the spawn of the devil
That's what happened to mine and Eloise. She even woke up early to go clean the newly-cleaned cliff. HER CLIFF, which I had her fenced and left no access to anyone else. Truly, THE LONGER THE ICON OF SIN IS ON EARTH, THE STRONGER IT WILL BECOME.
Loonatic Lol Oh no! She finally left my island. I also fenced her out of her house for a while and ignored her and she eventually wanted to leave. Now i have a cute bear named Stitches. 🥰
so, im sitting here watching this video. following every step, EVERY single step. time travelling, talking to villagers, etc. AND NORMA WONT GET OFF MY ISLAND
Yeah I had no choice but to put her on my island bc I only had one NMT left and she was there, and I already had an empty plot that would be filled the next day so I took my chances with her
If you’re needing some help in getting rare islands/bugs/fish, then get a Feng Shui room. It’s basically a room in your ACNH house where you have all your green furniture/items at the bottom, all your red ones one the right side and all your yellow items on the left. Hopefully you see this because it’s a really cool unknown trick
Josef TBB I don’t have an answer but I remember from ACWW, the rent shui of your home was pretty important. I can’t remember if it came up in ACNL, but I do see the whole feng shui thing being a real thing in NH as well.
Or for methods two, if they choose someone who your don’t want to move out, DO NOT complete the conversation and immediately close the game and don’t save it. Then rejoin the game and go back the villager at your campsite and they will choose another person to move out. Keep doing this until they choose the one you want to move out.
Fun Fact: I kicked off my starters not by using amibo cards or anything I just kept talking to them until they got annoyed, ignored them, and hit them with my net I also sent them trash through the mail and gave them spoiled turnips
How to get rid of villagers: Step 1. Quarantine them Edit: this method doesn’t work it is completely random to kick out villagers you should tt 3 months and then save tt 3 months back and before the autosave look for a person with a thought bubble if there is a thought bubble of someone you want to kick out go for it but if its not tt 1 day forward look for a thought bubble before the autosave and if there is no thought bubble tt 1 day backward if there is a thought bubble time travel a day forward and repeat thus process until the right villager wants to move out. This isn’t that effective for your newest villager so for kicking our your newest villager I suggest using the campsite method which is: Tt 7 days and you should almost always going to give you a camper if not just do it again if you find a camper you want on your town thats good just keep talking to that camper until you invite the camper and he or she says yes if the camper replaces a villager you don’t want close the game and try again until they decide to kick out your newest villager. You can also use an amiibo card if you have one
When one of my villagers got the thought bubble I was so scared, but when I talked to her she instead gave me a gift because I was being so nice to her. I believe in god again.
Once one of my favorite villagers that I talked to everyday had a white thought bubble. I was terrified. It turned out they just wanted me to catch them a butterfly... 😹
The way I got villagers to leave was talking a lot in a row, past the "oh I've been seeing a lot of you lately " part. They get something over their head, a purple haze maybe, they will say something like can I talk to you later or muttering to themselves. Do this a couple days in a row and the villager vill leave in my experience. I've gotten rid of Megan, Kidd, Kody, and Phoebe this way. But this might just be a coincidence.
This has worked for me for every villager I wanted gone. EXCEPT ROCKET. I can’t get rid of her. I can’t trap her in the fence she teleports out I have NO idea what to do at this rate I’m so over it
I did this with Broffina bc Tom placed her after I left an empty lot. I talked to her loads when she moved, then traveled 1 day and talked to her loads again. Then I time traveled 30 days and she immediately left
that happened to me too! the first campsite villager stayed for two days and wanted to move out. i was fine with it because i wanted him to leave anyways 😅
I tried completely avoiding one of the villagers by time traveling over a year and they refuse to leave. Ive tried everything. Ive tried ignoring, fencing them in, annoying them. Nothing works. I made sure to talk to every villager I wanted to keep but every time someone wants to leave its the ones I want
same thing happened w me and huck, and now my island is fucked up and huck won't leave me alone. i think the way he fences in the video is the only way to make sure they can't leave. i'm going to try others' suggestions and annoy him all night and then see how long it takes of fencing him in and ignoring him in real time to finally want to leave.
Ashley Coker SAMEEEEEEEEE he was in my campsite and I thought it would be funny to invite him and he was like a remy from ratatouille lmao 😂 but he’s quite shady and I’m starting to think he’s ugly and ready to be changed by another cute villager
Sameee. I did this to Curlos, and as much as I wanted him gone, I felt really bad lol. I have to remind myself that it’s just a game, that the characters aren’t real, and that they don’t feel real emotions lol.
I just talked nonstop and they got a black swirl and started acting like I was gonna kill them and moved out so it also works to talk until they get angry.
Chicken Wiccan I dunno I just kept doing it. I had the same question before but then they just told me they wanted to move. I hope the villager that you want out moves!
Chicken Wiccan I think this does work because I talked to a villager I liked a lot, (apple) and then they had a squiggly above their head. I kept talking to them, and they where scared and shocked. After like 15 minutes, she was fine and I continued to talk and then the process started over again. She wanted to move, and I was like nah. Now I don’t constantly talk to them, and they are fine :)
i have been neglecting reneé for a solid week now and still nothing. on the flip side i talk to sprinkle everyday and give her presents and whatnot and she has the audacity to want to move away. i don't understand this game sometimes
I think the better friends you are with a villager, the harder it is to make them stay. This happens in New Leaf too; my belief is that the game wants to make it difficult to reach best friend status, but also make you warm up to villagers you don’t like upon arrival. So if you wanna move a villager out, I’d suggest raising their friendship before trying this method.
It does make sense. The game has an enormous number of villagers, it encourages you to befriend more villagers. As you two have become very close, she wants to move on and make even more friends, smth like that
bayotic if u smother them with attention to the point where they comment on how often you talk to them, it increases the chance of em moving out. so far katt’s the only one to leave mine, and i talked to her waaaay too much
bayotic I have been trying to move out Lucha for two weeks. I ignored him for DAYS until I finally gave up and just started treating him like a normal villager. I would gift him ugly things, which they appreciate anyway, and talk to him. A week later now, he just asked to move away! Meanwhile I LOVE Ellie and Eloise and constantly talked to them and within a couple of days they asked to move. It definitely matters how much you talk to them
but you ALSO want to deduce the friendship level, because neglecting them wont do anything if you have high friendhip stats. the only ways to decrease friendhip levels is if you push them around or hit them with a net
Target one at a time. To move out one of mine I never spoke to him, kept beating him with a net and reporting him to resident services. He moved out in like 3 days Bullying them one by one into leaving is the way to go lmao
When I used an amiibo to get a camper to move in, she went to resident services and said “no one is looking to move out, do you have any inside info on who wants to move.” (Basically) and it let me pick anyone on the island. She disappeared and said “you were right they were thinking about it! The agreed to move sooner for me!” And the next day they were in boxes, day after that it said lot sold to camper, next day the camper was moved in.
@@draculena obviously you have to have 10 villagers -_- Its because there is no room on the island for someone else, so instead it just replaces someone!
@@katrae5071 There's no way to make them stay put in the fence because when you open the game they will load in their house or a random part of the island. I remember when I had no bridges and had houses on un-bridged lands and villagers still ended up going to the other part of the island
one of my villagers that i started with wanted to move out :o but i didn’t let her cuz she threw me a bday party 🥺 being stuck at home during quarantine.. that means a lot 😭
you have to have no1 in your camper, and you have to plan on bringing someone yourself via nook miles island...otherwise, if not filled before 5am the house, will be sold and auto-filled (:
The reason I want Animal Crossing is because I can finally have a game I can play with my friends that they actually play and enjoy too!! And we can always vibe together and help in each other's islands!!
I've tried ignoring her and time traveling, I've traveled like two months into the future. SHE WON'T LEAVE. So I've just been beating her with the net.
I've heard there's a better way. Try smothering her instead of ignoring her, talk to her constantly until she gets frustrated with you (above her head there should be a similar cloud to the wanting to leave one) this is apparently a much quicker method, 3 days or so and she should want out
i strongly suspect beating a villager with the net prompts OTHER villagers to ask to leave (presumably they're upset their town rep is being such a big bully) back when i was experimenting with all the rumoured methods, hitting the villager i wanted to leave made 3 others i was friendly with ask to leave in the same amount of days... this needs more experimenting
WittyPractitioner I smother her and i report her to isabelle. I think its gonna work but ive been shoving her as well(which makes them mad) am i ruining the system ??
@@mills6308 I don't think reporting her to Isabelle does anything, it just resets them if you got them from someone elses island and you dont like the custom designs they put on or any new catchphrase they were taught. I did hear that the people you reported tend to be favored when a campsite villager asks to kick someone out, but I can't confirm that because my campsite has never had anyone I want to move in
Can you teach me how? I'm tying to get rid of Mira- I think her name is- and I have no idea how. Dunno why but I just find her to be a brat :') (She's the yellow bunny with an almost hero outfit on.) update: GUYS OMG MIRA FINALLY MOVED FROM MY ISLAND AND I DIDNT EVEN NEED TO DO MUCH? Willow: It’s not suitable, It’s not fresh- Cherry: We have opinions! Willow: Bo-Peep.. It’s not funny. You know rock isn’t a good music. Cherry: Rude!
@ratty mcfattie yea she will replace frita. Like if u want that campsite villager to move in but ur sloths are full, u gotta talk to them a lot, and then they say what villager wants to move out. If ur okay with that then just ask the campsite villager to ask that villager if they actually want to move, and they say yes ofc, so i think after that that campsite villager will replace that villager who wants to move out. (Hope u get it, I'm not good at explaining)
If you’re using a campsite method, there’s a way to select which villager you want to kick out. When the campsite visitor tells you who they want to kick out and it isn’t someone you want to leave, make sure to exit out of the game before choosing yes or no! After that you can just go talk to them again and they’ll choose someone else, and you can cycle through your villagers until they choose the one you want to leave. Also, once a villager you dont want to leave gets a thought bubble, don’t talk to them and instead save and close the game. Timeskipping one day at a time will have the thought bubble cycle through your villagers!!
When you block the villager in the home with a fence, they can sitll move around and teleport in the island. BUT, they should still feel the neglect and the fence should still help making them feel bad.
I was going to write this also. Cause when I fenced up one of my villager's home with them in front of it and went about my day and I saw that they was still moving around town like I didn't just fence him in his home or the beach,lol. But as long as they feel neglect then I guess that's fine. ^^;
7KDreamer Plays I tried this right away to test it all out. I actually did a video on it recently but I’m not about to post it here haha. Feel free to browse 🤓
They can teleport, I always fence them again when they do, but most of the times he will be in front of his house as usual. Having the fence around his house already guarantees you a lot of ''fenced time'' and surely helps
Just talk to them over and over they get super depressed. I did this to see what they would say, eventually they don't even want to talk they'll go back to normal the next day... Villagers will also want to leave randomly, I had a villager move in and 4 days later he asked me about moving, I like him so he stayed.
yeah I had one guy literally ask me if he should leave the very day he moved in!?! like, he just arrived the day before and that was the first time I could even talk to him? Meanwhile I have three villagers fenced in who just refuse to leave... -.- maybe it's a bit too random...
Same, I got Benjamin and at first I hated him, but then after realizing he was nice and watched him take notes of nature and reading what he’s based off of I’ve grown to adore him 🥺
Brandon Thai I’m not sure if my knowledge from City Folk applies but one of my favorite villagers (Ankha) asked to leave, I think I had to convince her three times to stay as the villager would say “okay! I’ll stay in (town name)” rather than “I’ll think about it...”
I actually did the opposite and I had my villager leave in 3 days! I talked to them until they told me to leave them alone (a scribble thought bubble appeared up)
Bam is one of my original villagers, I talk to him every day, and he's the only one who has considered moving out :(( I was a little bit offended bc I thought we were best friends (I obvs told him to stay) ... Whereas my other of villager was Sylvia and shes still around and I hate her
ugh sylvia popped up in my new leaf town years ago and i HATED her. she uglied the place up. i was ecstatic when she decided to move. i hope you can get rid of her REAL soon 😖
I don’t know for sure, but there has been people stating that villagers they interact with a ton start wanting to move out. This includes starters, people’s favorites, and ones they interact you but still hate. Not saying there’s any evidence to back it up but it’s a little suspicious
Nobody3507 it was a thing in new leaf too ? if you become really close friends with your villagers theyll ask every once in a while if they should move. i believe it was because they thought they made enough friendships where they were so they wanted to move on to a new home unless the player told them they should stay or smth along those lines
Was really happy to learn that you can prevent getting your friends villagers at 6:20. Don't know if it's me but I hate getting my friends villagers that they kicked out
me : giving absolutely no attention to al and fencing him in , wanting him to leave . bubbles , who i gift and pay a lot of attention to : “ i’m thinking of maybe , you know , moving away from this island . . . “
One Banana Boi i think they are just harder to get to leave because you've most likely talked to them and gave them stuff for a long time that you became best friends, so there's a smaller chance of them wanting to leave

I did an experiment with my villagers and took two of my villagers I wanted to move out and treated them completely different. I gave villager A all my love and attention, gifts, letters, house makeovers, I came to her birthdays, talked to her constantly, etc. Villager B was neglected, I hit him gifted him trash, put trash outside his house, moved him on a separate island where he couldn’t escape my abuse or get help from the other villagers. Our only interactions were me being awful to him. But the weird thing is.. Villager A asked to leave before Villager B. Villager B did leave shortly after but why did Villager A ask to leave first? I think it’s just random based on what happened with me lmk your experience
In my experience, I believe you can kick out islanders you got in the very beginning. I had Plucky since day one. While I was trying to get rid of another villager (Rodney for those of you who are wondering) it was actually plucky who walked up to me and asked if she should leave. (And no. Rodney still hasn't left yet... please send help.)
same, one of my first villagers was Mira and she did leave and I’m currently trying to kick out pietro and Rooney because I didnt even want them and the plots autofilled
