I liked the "penis" part, it was hilarious with that Dracula accent. I am always stunned by Banzea's ability to play chess, teach chess and his ability to speak English so well as a second (third?) language.
i just played the Colle Zukertort before watching your video. And it is really a so "hot" opening and i really killed my opponent with check mate after battled the Queen. So now my friend know what happened when i just post "Rock'n'Colle" in my status ;)
1st game, opponent lost 4 or 5 tempi because of mouse slip. Teaching from this game isnt very instructive. Imho. 2nd game 19:10 white should move 7. dxe5 then if dxe5 then 8.Nc4 forks the pawn, which is now double attacked and protected only by the Queen, which means the win of a pawn. You didn't catch until move 11. While going into the Colle-Zukertort is nice, one shouldn't overlook elementary tactics, imho. Nice trap in game 3 while you are also great at calling out the beginner moves before they make them. And in game 4 just a well played game full of great explanation. "With that being said, I think we can move on to the following game." Look forward to your speed run to 2500 with the Colle-Zukertort.
You've rly taught me London and Caro But can you start playing against like 1200-1600s so that your intermediate audience can get a better understanding?❤
Just watched your video and on my first game with this opening I got 2 BRILLIANT MOVES! It is insane how some solid openings are so underrated yet so easy to play and consistent! This is literally a london system but with a surprise element!
Much as I love your instruction, Alex, I very much prefer to see you challenge stronger players (1500+) as these weak players make many mistakes which invalidate the lesson.
Alex, thanks for making these videos so simple and easy to understand. I bought both the Carro course and the London course and they're well worth the money. You are my favorite chess creator.
d4 c6 can easily transpose to slav which is very solid repsonse to d4, not semislav tho - that is too locked and boring for me. Also London seems to have much more attacking potential than Colle/Colle-Zuckertort (btw it means sugar cake in german)
Made my day better... make it to grandmaster and I will finally have one to cheer for. God bless.. Depends on size was a genius tactic in itself. Keep having fun and throw the sterile chess players off
Hey alex quick question what to do when the opponent just trades everything 😶 . I mean i just tried this in 4 game they just take take and take . resulting in either pawns end games or each queens with couple of pawns my rating range is in mid 700 range
Whoa Alex you went into NSFW territory there about 1:55. I get your point that the Caro is probably not going to work well vs. d4. The Colle though is very much like the London, which is fashionable to rip on. I'm not ready to give up on it completely, there might still be some good lessons there for early intermediate and beginning players. I've never seen anyone really crush the London, and I think it takes very sharp, advanced play to "refute" it and I think refute is a strong word. It's not my #1 White opening but I can see you'd recommend something else.
Alex thank you, literally spent the whole day searching for a d4 opening that isn't queen's gambit or London. I already use trompowsky but needed something off beat against everything other than... Nf6 for black 👌
I can see why nobody is ripping on this system in the same way as the London. The bishop fianchetto there I think gives a better position, more obvious the more I look at it. Then castle, it looks very promising. Thanks Alex.
I remember covering basically the same variation of colle with stockfish(which actually got me discovering the colle) with that Bishop on b2. It’s actually really cool, I’ve never seen it in a game
You have your own students/fans. Alex keep doing what you do. Your style is unsurpassed in the chess community today. Gotham is someone I will not watch. Honestly, I can’t stand him and his jealous ways. You are awesome 👏🏽
In 2nd game, your opponent played the Czech Pirc defense. I play the Pirc and that variation was a poor choice. When you bring out the Queen, it's to piin the Knight on C3 which you didn't develop. The mainline Pirc is a better choice IMHO.
At 3:15, heh, I'd argue that it might also depend on how much alcohol is involved and how long it's been since....well, you know. And Europe seems more flexible about these things....your mileage may vary. Everyone be safe now.
Interesting variation, but I think I need to recover my lost 10 games in a row before trying something different :) , Thank you for always giving Ideas :)
Tre' să faci trecerea la "next level" în privința pronunțării câtă vreme ai "toate cuvintele" la tine. Right now, sună precum vorbește un rusnac la tejgheaua unui Birt făcând conersație în engleză. No offence intended! Hai, că poți!
When I see 1.d4, I go c6 all the time because at my skill level, the Slav transposes into a Botvinnik advance Caro-Kann like 95% of the time. (2.e4 d5 3.e5 c5) Same with the old Benoni if I mouse slip and go c5 instead. Because they’ll usually just blindly go 2.e4 and I’ll go d5 in the smith morra gambit position. But THEN my opponent will go e5 transposing into a weird Botvinnik advance except I’ll have the initiative. Once i get above 2200 I’ll just have to buckle down and finally learn the Sicilian to play this better, but for now; this works.
Benoni makes soooo many people uncomfortable cause they just don't know/study this opening - but it is very interesting and useful, you also have Benko gambit which cool
Expanding your sharp, tactical repertoire to the vicious Colle-Zuckertort is such a London player thing to do 😂 Which is exactly why I started learning it 😅 One issue with it is that it's seemingly not viable against Bf5 and g6 systems. Other than that, it's pretty annoying and scary for Black when you cement the Pillsbury knight and all sorts of sacrifices become possible.
@@AlexBanzeaFell asleep when that part of the vid came 😅 Interesting approach, I know that the usual response to Bf5 is c4, forcing Colle player to abandon his plans. But your idea with the pawn storm looks fun, imma try it on some unsuspecting victims at the club ❤
I’ve been playing the CZ around the 2100 level with pretty good success! Excited to see more, thanks Alex! I can concur the Bf5 and g6 lines are most annoying to me.
I’m IN LOVE with this opening. Thank you for introducing me to this. I got accused of cheating after making really unsound sacks that ended up working in the heat of the moment lol. Beat an 1800 which is an accomplishment at 1100. Please, more of this
@@mariuszpudzianowski8400 I was replying to the OP's reference to Eric Handen's "c6 against everything" which doesn't seem to involve the typical triangle, so far.
