Jay all you need is one unit not 2....Take your two xlr cables from your controller or your mixer and put them in channels 1 and 2 of your closest speaker.... then take the speaker our source of that speaker and insert the wireless transmitter... On the other speaker that you placed furthest away from you plug in the wireless receiver on channel one and you're good to go! You will have stereo output with only one wireless transmitter and receiver.
I have used these and they work pretty well, but I did have dropouts in a larger room. The lows seemed to be a little lacking over the wireless transmission even for cocktails. I returned these went back to using my Shure QlxD Lav systems for wireless speakers. Takes much longer to setup, but the sound is perfect.
I do this with a Shure mic set up with very low drop out or any interference. How well do they work with a room full of people? Did you say how long the battery life is?
