Finally got the money and courage to buy a spidey suit. Still wondering wether to get a face shell with magnetic lenses or a mask attached lenses. (My mother thinks it’s a waste of money and doesn’t support my “financial decision” lol.) Imo if what you buy gives you happiness , it isn’t a waste of money.
I support the choice. Think about it this way, 200 ish bucks on a spider man suit is like filling a car tank with gas 5 times. Only diffrence is you only spend it once on a suit and you have it forever.

I’d do photoshoots with friends, attend comic-cons, and surprise my young cousin who’s obsessed with Spider-Man heh. and it’s not just for having it. It’s for the happiness you get out of achieving goals. And having a custom Miles morales street fit suit, is kind of a goal for me. Also I’d have stuff to post on my channel, which is as dry as a desert rn. (P.s. Tysm for the help on insta, really appreciate it!)
Another great Lycra option is the coloured fabric! Most of my suits from printcostume have the coloured fabric and I can’t recommend it enough! It always makes the red and blue of my Spidey suits vibrant and pop!
this video was really excellent! you did a great job going through pretty much every suit option there is and what the best ones are to get. this helped me feel more confident about my costume option choices and what i could see for my future spidey suits going forward. i've gotten at least 3 spider-man suits from herostime since 2018 - including two homecoming (stark) suits (one older one that i donated {and my first ever actual spidey cosplay, and one newer one that i still have) and a red-and-blue sam raimi suit - so some of the options i got may differ a bit. regardless tho, throughout the years, my style of suit options has styled consistent, yet also evolved since i started off. for all of my suits, i've had standard lycra fabric and a detachable mask with attached lenses (no faceshell since i haven't experimented with those yet), since i think that's just the way spidey masks should be: practical and easy to put on and remove, yet stylish. that being said, i varied up my options with every suit i got. for my 1st homecoming suit, i kept it simple and practical in terms of options when i could - detachable mask, forearm zippers, vertical back zipper, and ankle zippers - though i did get attached shoes to see how they would feel, and they were fine but one of the legs/feet got a bit messed up (not to the point where i couldn't walk around in the suit tho). since i got the updated homecoming suit tho, i tend to have these options for my costumes: - either forearm zippers (mcu/homecoming) or removable gloves (sam raimi red-and-blue or other suits) (i choose either one depending on the design of the forearm/hand detail. if the forearm/hand detail is relatively simple/minimalistic, i get detachable gloves, but if it's more complex like the mcu, i get forearm zippers for the best of both worlds - maintaining design as well as comfort/convenience). - u-shape zipper (i prefer this to vertical zipper because it feels more natural, comfortable, and like a spidey suit; plus it disrupts the back pattern less) - male crotch zipper (tbh it's more of a novelty choice; sure it *can* help with going to the bathroom, but i find it awkward to use the bathroom using just that without removing my whole suit. still, i always get it in case i need it) - detachable shoes (herostime offers detachable shoes as an option; i like getting this option for my suits because it allows me to wear other footwear over the feet of my costume in case it rains or snows). for another suit i got beyond the 3 i mentioned, i didn't bother getting shoes/soles with it, for suit-specific reasons. thank you so much for this video; it was really helpful and it reinforced my interest in options for spidey cosplays. looking forward to seeing more cool and insightful cosplay content.
I love seeing the variety of option speople get. As i said there really aren't any bad options with the exception of one or two. And seeing others get their own is always cool. Thanks for sharing your experience!
My next suit is probably gonna be the No Way Home version of the red & black Tom Holland suit! I plan on getting an attached mask with a zip at the back, but that's it for differences from other suits.
nice suit choice! i would personally advise against the attached mask as it kinda restricts the possible movement and might make the suit stretch weird. But if thats the option you want go for it!

This couldn’t of come out at a better time. I’m prepping to get my suit soon, and I’ve been going over all the options to make sure I know what I want. I have a question about the back head zipper option, is that necessary? Will it make it easier with a faceshell or can I opt out of it as I see many who seem like they don’t have one?
So what ive noticed is the back head zipper helps way more then I thought. I have a mask without a zipper and its very tight to get in and out of, but any mask with the zipper sized the same is very easy and fits well. i would say get the zipper, as it helps to put the shell on, and gives a bit of wiggle room.
Hey Miles, I'm not sure if you'll have all the answers, but I'mma just throw out some questions just in case: 1. Should the detached gloves go on top of the sleeves or inside them? Or is that personal preference? 2. Detached Gloves + Puff Paint - would the puff paint also be present on the gloves, and if so, would it cover the entire glove or up to where the suit's sleeve ends/the sleeve's paint ends where the glove begins? 3. Would it be possible to wear a mask with attached lenses on top of a faceshell to optimize the face shape whilst maintaining the accurate look of the standalone mask? 4. If you get a separate set of magnetic webshooters (wristband under the suit), would a wrist zipper stand in the way or could a detached glove be too thick for the magnets to connect? 5. This is an entirely separate topic, but I'd highly recommend making a separate video about suit health and hygiene - what to wear and not to wear under and over the suit for the best look with the least damage/stretch discoloration, how to clean a suit to preserve color and puff paint, how to prevent lens fog and anything else that comes to mind :3 With all that being said,, I give you my highest compliments and wish you a fantastic and long-lasting content creator career :D
alright i’ll try my best here :) 1.I personally put the gloves over the sleeves. you can do either, but i find it’s more convenient to put the gloves on over. Plus you don’t notice the seem if it’s on the elbow, you’d notice it on the wrist 2.I personally don’t own a puff painted suit, so i can accurately awnser that. However i would assume the puff painting is also on the gloves, and cuts off at the elbow. But again that’s jsut a guess 3.It is possible, however it’s more of a hastle to do that. and all faceshells come with a matching set of lenses to go with it. So often times if you use a faceshell, your best bet is to use the open mask with no lenses. But it is possible to do both, i can’t guarantee the attached lenses will cooperate w the shell tho 4.The wrist zippers won’t get in the way of the magnet webshooter, it’s small, and the gloves are not too thick. If you get a strong enough magnet, won’t be an issue 5.I actually hve 2 videos like that. One about what to wear under and one about washing the suit. You don't really talk about it in the video I believe, but what is your advice on getting a mask zipper? Is it worth it? If so, why would you advice for or against one? Same with the neck zipper, is that an option that you should or shouldn't get? 😄
hey Miles, im getting a spidersuit and im wicked excited, but im just wondering, after ordering, how long does it roughly take for it to arrive, at least for you? im thinking about ordering it next week and hoping it will arrive before a con I want to go to in June. Also for printcostume, should I order the printing file? I don't actually know what it does lmfao. Love your videos man, keep it up
1. The printing file ensures the pattern designer gets paid. 2. For me it takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks. but it varries depending on time of year and order influx
I know you mentioned not needing the neck zip, but what about the mask zip? Would it be better to get the mask zipper when using a face shell? Or is that another useless option?
I plan on getting a suit from Print Costume with custom measurements but I also want a face shell. Should I adjust the head measurement to accommodate the size of the face shell? I’d want to make sure the mask doesn’t fit too tight or lose color from being too tight
Im a little bit concerned sbout getting detatched gloves. Im not sure if it would look awkward because of the lines not lining up properly. Is that a problem?
you could, but i wouldn't recommend it. If you want the shoes i would recommend getting the attached shoes and soles. Otherwise youll wear out the lycra outside very fasst
hmm.. overall i’d say no. ebay is not a vendor site, it’s a resell site. it’s where people are reselling their used things. So let’s say you get one on ebay. You could possibly get a good quality one, just sized to someone else. Or you run the risk of getting a knock off. For a spider suit of good quality i’d always reccomend a genuine print shop.
@@anakinmonkey the thing is that I would like to recreate the leap of faith suit but with the across the spider-verse suit. so that suit with the sweater pants and shoes. and I first found the suit on ebay and I loved it because of the texture went nice with the winking spidey mask I was getting. but then I saw the same thing from RPC. I would get it from RPC but $700 is alot so I would like to get the one from eBay but I donno probably would still get it and see how it is but the rating are good. Also thankyou for all your help. your vids are going to make my first comic con expirence easier and lot more fun! and can you do a review on the winking spidey masks?
