Finally back ice fishing for my favourite species to catch and cook. They are one of the best tasting fish in freshwater.
The yellow perch is a great species for all level of anglers; but a really great species to target as a kid or beginner fishermen. Especially on lakes like this where sight fishing is possible.
They are a relatively easy fish to catch during open water and through the ice. The action can be nonstop if you pick the right spot and use the right gear like we did on this day.
Although cleaning and filleting these fish can be tedious, it's totally worth it for this amazing tasting freshwater fish.
We have a few more trips planned this winter... Can't wait for the next adventure.
