This rod has multiple cast weights and lengths. It's compatible with both bait caster and spinning reels giving it great versatility and adaptability. Great video buddy …. Our lass was in the bath and overheard the video ( ears on women are so acute ,… at times !!!! ) …. She said “ oh do you want to order that rod darling for ya birthday next week “ ???? What’s going on ???’!!! It's a really good rod mate that's for sure! I personally prefer it to pike rather than trout because I prefer the smaller lures for trout fishing. I don't enjoy the big flying C's and tobys as much. What lures you going to use with it?

@@adventurefishinguk It's my first rod, never fished before. Just got a cheap Amazon kit with some lures and bobbers. Brand new hobby for me so wanted a rod that could do a bit of anything because I've got mates that carp fish but I want to get out on rivers/streams. I do a lot of hiking and enjoyed the videos of you fishing in remote places. How would you recommend me setting up the predator for brownies? Cheers for replying.

@@stestandring9674 no problem! The predator rod is weighed for the bigger fish and throwing bigger lures. The easiest way to get started stream fishing and river fishing for trout is spinning and for that it would be easier to use a lighter weighted rod. When you look at fishing rods they have a gram weighting, and the predators minimum cast weight is about 10 grams. I’m sure you could try fishing it with smaller lures but a lot of the trout lures I use range from 2 grams to about 5. Hope this helps feel free to ask any more questions!

@@adventurefishinguk Thanks for the advice. Brand new to this. The idea in my head was to get just 1 rod for everything because of my budget. Hoping to learn to fish for various species and styles. I'm off work this week and I know there's brown trout along a remote stretch of river I walk on a regular basis. Was hoping I could spend a week learning as much as I can on the river. Do you think I'd have any success? Or should I start on a different species with the kit I've got? Next month I can buy the 180 rod you use if that's necessary. You're videos hit the nail on the head for what I had in mind. Cheers pal

I prefer the predator to the infinite mini, however the mini can fish much lighter. I hope this helps!

I am going the lake windemere in Lake District in early August, just wondering if you could tell me what fish I could catch and how to catch them

Plenty of perch in there mate and some good pike too. Target structure around the lake like jetties, boats, marinas, overhanging trees, wherever you can really! Jigs and spinners should catch you perch bigger lures and you might get a pike. Hope this helps!

The fixed spool is a rigged and ready 3000 reel but The rod can handle much bigger. The lure is a savage gear topwater snake and the baitcaster is an Abu Garcia promax 👍

It's a good all rounder for use with medium size rods. I'd go for something smaller for ultralite though, and although the reels are good quality spending £50 on one from elsewhere will get you a better reel. The rods on the other hand are second to none in my opinion. Hope this helps!

Hi, this rod has two tips so it can cast 10-30 grams with one tip and 20-80 with the other. 10-80 is a big range and will cover most of the standard pike lures people tend to use. Hope this helps!
