The camera is worse than the Samsung S21 plus in low light. All these people who boast Pixel 8 pro up in the clouds must have been bought and paid for by Google.
You're not biased, you're in love with the devices! that's nice, it shows that you're genuine and passionate about 'em! :D my type of reviewer 😊 I've been an android user since a bootstrap boot on an HTC touch cruise back in 2009, to galaxy, to nexus 4 5 6 6P, to Pixel XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL 6 Pro 8 Pro (sorry, I did skip the 7 pro 👀 ) Absolutely loving my 8 Pro 😎
AH I'm so glad you love it! I'm working on a camera comparison between 8 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro - something tells me Pixel is going to knock it out of the park.
No doubt Tasia, the Pixel 8 camera is one of the best, with great image processing software, including portrait mode and Magic Eraser. I tried it out this morning and discovered how It takes great photos of people in all lighting conditions. Indeed, Google went above and beyond this time around.
The mind blowing change I experienced going from my pixel 6 pro to the pixel 8 pro...🤯🤯 I now agree phones should be changed every two years...coz wowww!
What I have found is that the portrait mode is good but it still hit or miss and what I've been doing lately. The telephoto 48 megapixel gets better results because it has natural boca if you get close to the subject while you're in the 5x the compression is very satisfied and I compare them to the portraits and they look better in my opinion.
Loving the 8P.........had (still have) Pixels 3 and 4, then went 6P (returned) iPhone13P (returned), settled on S22 which I lived with, but missed Pixel-exclusive features and stock Android......8P is just so fun !!!
Great hardware, but oh boy, the camera app is a total mess. There are setting and inside settings there are more settings. To change SS and ISO you have to go into manual settings before you can change the values. Sony's camera app runs circles around this and every other camera apps :-)
The video that pushed me over the edge and get the Pixel 8 Pro! I got the iPhone 14 and 15 Pro Maxes, sold them. I got the One Plus Open, sold it. I have the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, gonna sell it. Turns out, I just want something that takes incredible pictures, is light, and is really good at being a smartphone.
I was unlucky with my 6/7 Pros they were both so buggy on the phone side, but cameras were amazing. This year I went 15 Pro Max great phone as a phone, but camera not as good as Pixel, it’s good mind. I am interested in 8 Pro as second phone for photography. X❤😊
I have all of the later pixel phones. The Pixel 6, 7, and the pixel 8 pro. I agree with your review. My pixel 8 pro has been perfect since I got it. I love the camera and as MKBHD says "all the googly Stuff" that the pixel has. In my opinion, I prefer it to the S23 Ultra and The iphone 15 pro max which others in my family have. As I said, I still have the pixel 6 and pixel 7. I use the pixel 6 for android auto, and the pixel 7 for astro photography. I had to find a reason to keep them. Love them all.
Why my pixel camera app is different than yours? Its only showing UW W T instead of yours. And i am facing burry images in mid zoom and it has focus problem also.
The only zoom that matters is the optical zoom, not the digital zoom. Once you go into digital zoom, the image will become slightly blurry and grainy. Try not to zoom out of the optical zoom range if you want your pictures and videos to come out clean and crisp. The digital zoom applies to ALL phones, including iPhone 15 Pro Max and Galaxy S24 Ultra, and ALL other types of cameras.
The camera this year is just insane, except for videos it blows away my "old" iphone 14 pro, with all these different editing tools you can do sooo much more than on an iphone, so far i just love it.
I'm also blown away. I'm working on a comparison video next where I'll compare the camera system to my iPhone 15 Pro. Something tells me Pixel 8 Pro is going to be the winner.
can't believe how many tech RU-vidrs have been given pixel 8 pros free of charge, it makes it harder to know if reviews are really legit. I have a pixel 8 pro and I love it, but a pinch of salt is needed for some of these so called reviews.
Yes, you need to take everything with a grain of salt. It's easy to love free things! I try my best to still tell it like it is with all the Pixel devices, the good and the meh. It's my truthful opinion, without any photo or video editing.
Dear Ms Custode, I was not planning to upgrade my pixel 7 pro but the screen developed an annoying screen flickering issue and i had to get the 8 pro...not regretting this upgrade..its pixel 7 pro made better
Great review; Google should let you make their ads! We used to laugh when Captain Kirk said 'zoom in and enhance' but now we can !! I guess the Enterprise is fitted with a Tensor GT.🥰
Hi there, plzz tell me where I can find Astrophotography mode on 8 Pro camera app? I tried putting my device on a tripod multiple times, but even long exposure does not invoke this mode. It just takes 3-4 sec. long shot but not 4 mins. Shot or so. Thanks.
Hi! You'll find astrophotography in the Night Sight mode. You have to ensure it's dark out or this might not work. Play your phone on a tripod with the cameras facing out and then the night sight moon should change to stars symbol. You may also need to update the camera app if the icon doesn't appear. Happy astro shooting!
It's a great phone and review of you. But I love the S23 Ultra too. The difference is the Software and AI possibilities. If the S23 Ultra with the better specs had the AI of the Pixel it would be the best phone ever🥰
I seriously want an 8 Pro, but I cannot afford it at the moment. I am tired of my iPhone 7 Plus and 🍎 products in general. I swear I will not buy any iPhones anymore. Pixel for life!
Terrible lens flare at night in photo and videos...and it's a hardware issue caused by the coating of the lens...not fixable via software with an update
only one thing good in this phone Google finally unlock 50 megapixel camera which one was locked on 6 and 7 Pro. the rest of the phone garbage slow CPU horrible respond on the screen a lot of bugs on software they should be working on this phone for another 6 months before release. they raise the price for the phone and giving away free watch but you already paid for them and you won't use that stupid watch
As a retired professional photographer, I disagree. The pixel 8 pro has been a delight to use and I find myself using it more than I thought I would. It has been fast and smooth. I have encountered no bugs at all. With all the pixel features on the 8 pro, it is the phone for me. I think too many Samsung and Apple Fan boys read these reviews and can't stand that another phone is so good.
Had the Pixle pro for 2 days, damn phone. The camera is terrible in the dark, the flash light is weak and yellow in color. A lot of flickering during video. The mobile feels cheap when you hold it, a lot of sharp edges and ill-fitting aluminum frame. Screenshot images flicker.. Media volume turns on max strength even if I adjust the volume down. Also annoying these Google things that Google will push on me, first free, then pay, mafia is the right thing here. Returns the crap, and starts my Samsung S21 plus.
Gonna be honest, I was thinking of switching back to Android from my iPhone 13 Pro as my 2 year contract is up, but when I checked the pixel 8 on the store the device just didn’t feel smooth scrolling around in RU-vid
