You should DEFINITELY do it. The FRS clipper was amazing in the storm we got caught in on the way back, but if I could do it again, I would definitely look into the sail boat if the weather is good. Seems like a super sustainable way to go for sure, AND you can get closer without disturbing them much at all.
Great video! I’d love to know what month & year? I wish RU-vid would post that. We are interested in doing this trip in august, while we are in Washington state. Thank you for sharing!
I went in mid-October so the weather will likely be better in August. I put together a written guide as well on my website with all the links and more details of what to know before going as well :) Have an amazing time! culturetrekking.com/whale-watching-san-juan-islands
okay, now my mouth is watering for fish and chips, especially for the kind that we had in that mom and pop place we found in Inverness, Scotland!!! I'm so envious that you got to see so much of those majestic creatures! And I loved that cute little baby whale too! SO GLAD I was not there for the ride back!!!!! I would have been puking up my innards for sure!!
Oh man, I know, the Fish & Chips in Scotland really were the absolute BEST...congrats Inverness, you win. The whales were very cool, but that boat ride back was insanity....you would have been miserable for sure!
