Great video! I just started Planetary Photography and have the ZWO 662mc I use it with the Celestron 9.25 SCT and a 2x TeleExtender. I used this setup once a few weeks ago successfully but still need to work on processing for better results.
I’d love to see some unboxing vids when you get new equipment. Also I would love to see what it looks like when you are in the field! What’s it like when you are actually taking the photos?
Great video. I took your thoughts and bought the Player One Saturn-M for solar imaging with my dedicated solar telescope. When planet season returns, I’ll put camera on my 14” Edge HD. Thanks. I subscribed
Great camera review. I was curious if you've had an opportunity to review these two full-frame ZWO cameras: ASI2400MC Pro & ASI6200MC Pro? Thanks for your time and insight.
Sir, please consider a video on the BEST color and/or B&W VIDEO cameras FOR Planetary work - Thank you: this video is extremely helpful. I am a subscriber - again, thank you.
Ok, now, how about a new video on what you would suggest as good quality cameras for guiding - as in adding a video camera to an accessory telescope, used for guiding - thank you - or one of the auto guide packages. :0))
I am very new to this area and just trying to get my head around all of the tech needed and figuring out what I need and can afford to get. Cuiv, the lazy geek had a video about a Touptek planetary camera with the IMX662 colour sensor. He found it worked very well as an off axis guider for his telescope, outperforming his 290 and a guide scope. But he hadn't tested the 662 with a guide scope. Do you think the 662 or any other similarly performing colour sensor could be used with a guide scope? I'm starting off with a mirrorless main camera, so won't be using an OAG. Thanks.
I think the 662 could work as a guide scope, although your results could be mixed since it has the RGGB filters over the pixels. Star intensity might vary depending on where it is. Mono sensors like the asi174mm or asi120mm don't have that issue. The 662 is certainly better than nothing! Thank you for your thoughts!
I would like to start moon and planetary fotography. I have SW 150p Quattro 600mm and was thinking of ZWO ASI715 and a 2x and 3x focal extender from Explore Scientific the 2” version. Would that work?
Great setup! Definitely go for the 3x focal extender with this setup as that will get you closer to the ideal balance of brightness and detail. A 4x may be the perfect focal extender but 3x should still do very well.
It is also great! I thought about that one a lot, but ultimately, sample images convinced me that the 662 was the best value in that category/price point. If I went mono, I'd have to go all the way with the Saturn M, but that's me.
@spacetechtips I have 174 MM Cool, 462 MM, 533 MM Pro and perfect 585 MC. Never again QHY 😅 I think of those cameras It is an excellent choice for planetary and DSO imaging. I have everything I need and some of the cameras in your selection are also not missing😅
