PORK GOULASH FROM GRANDMA
Grandma's pork goulash is the best goulash I've ever eaten and I often prepare it at home. Remember that honest goulash includes the same ratio of meat and onion, as my grandmother used to say, and she always cooked it that way. Another lesson is that the onion is browned until brown, the color of the onion determines the resulting color and taste of the goulash. It tastes best with dumplings, rice, pasta or bread.
INGREDIENTS FOR THE BEST GRANDMA'S GOULASH
lard alternatively oil
800 g of onion
800 g pork shoulder or leg
half a teaspoon of crushed cumin
100 ml of beer for pouring
2 tablespoons tomato puree
1 tablespoon ground sweet pepper
water / broth for pouring
3 balls of new spices
2 bay leaves
salt pepper
potatoes for thickening
3 cloves garlic
marjoram
