Wow, awesome stuff here. I definitely subscribed. Would you be able to make a video on the basics of how to build a subwoofer enclosure? :) For example: A driver with these specifications + These expectations in terms of frequency response and application = This is how to design the best enclosure. Because when i look around, i can find tutorials or guides but it's just like, you have these specifications, run it through this program and there it is. But i want to know why we choose a port width, length, box size, ... So i can take that knowledge to the next project. I think i understand the basics, however it's sometimes very confusing. But for some reason i immediately understand everything you explain.

I have commented before and I will again, this is the guy to listen to and watch. I am also a guy who knows this subject matter for many years oh, so I can tell you for a fact that this guy is good. The level and execution in which he explains things is superb. He doesn't just recycle and regenerate the same generic stuff over and over as do most of the videos on audio. I also respect that he said that he is still learning, because that shows intelligence instead of arrogance. I have over 20 years experience myself, including a MECP, and I'm also always learning new things. I like watching his videos for these reasons and or even just to touch up on a few things. Then again when I'm out in the shop, I'd rather watch this type of thing then Keeping Up with the Kardashians or some nonsense.

What about reversing tapers? Or what about reversed compound tapers, like a diamond shape with the tips cut off? Or even reversing flares, having a smaller opening that rapidly open to the port size? Or making a TL out of a compound taper? Or a TL-horn hybrid, where one section is straight and the other tapered, with both variations of flat first and tapered first? Or really any hybrid method of combining various port types? I have a lot of other ideas, but that's just a handful of them. I know these probably don't sound or work as well, but I want to see what unconventional methods accomplish, for science.

Recently I built 4th order for 2 10" subwoofers, sealed was a little over 1cube, ported was 2.3cubes, I tried to tune it to 36-38 hz with 2 3"/8" flared ports didn't like the sound so I removed 1 port shorten the 1 port to about 4" it was worst, this was on a 3k, then I switched to a 5 k and that made matters worse, I'm going to scrap the box, but I think a box that small I had to tune it to more than 40hz, but I simply don't like higher tunings, I'm probably going to just make a regular ported box for those 2 10s

I hope you see this question ... You are the most knowledgeable person I have found on the web regarding subwoofer enclosure design so I have a question for you. I built a 6th order BP. I built it with the 35hz port facing the rear of the vehicle, and the 85hz port facing the front of the SUV. My thinking was the lower bass could bounce off the back to gain strength, and the upper bass could come straight at the front. It's loud and clean, but there seems to be a lull in the 60-70hz region, and I don't know if it's because the tuning is so far apart, or because the ports aren't facing the same direction. Please advise me Yoda🙂.

Are there any special rules for PRs (Passive Radiators) such as where in the enclosure they should be placed (front, back, certain distance away from the active woofer...)? Also, is there anything special needed for an enclosure that has say 4 small identical woofers (let's say 8" or 10" each) with a big 15" PR? What normally should be the ratio of the PR's cone area vs. the total cone area of all the active woofers? Should the PR have at least the same area as all the active woofers combined (such as four 8" woofers vs. one 15" PR), or should the PR have more, and if so, how much more... 50%, 100%...? For a dual woofer isobaric (clamshell arragement) subwoofer, can a pair of PRs be added also in a "clamshell" configuration and is there any advantage to doing that? Thank you.

Question to HexiBase: can I use multiple holes on the box, instead of a single tube? For example if tube required would be 10 cm long and 3 cm diameter, can I simply drill 5 pieces of 3 cm diamater holes on the front baffle which is 2 cm thick? I guess the resonating “airmass” would be similar. Yet no one uses holes! Why?

How about these ported boxes with a corner port where you can see it stops a certain distance from the back wall of the box . The triangle port would be different from square or rectangle but still no we’re close to the round . I just wondered if you had seen this and inside they have like half walls . I’m wanting to think there bracing but if you look at them the rear part of these boxes are angled down in the back like the top is narrow from front to back. So there’s 2 walls-braces best I can tell by looking at them 1 is up and down out maybe 2-5 inches and it’s closer to the back wall and the one off the back wall is wide at the bottom because the angled back and placed close to the side off center we’re the one is at. Then they are both on the opposite side the port is on at the bottom now that what I see if it’s a single driver the one I seen with 2 has got 2 triangle vents for each driver and dose not look to have those braces-walls in it . I kinda think they could be for we’re is a port the opposite side of them there for like air control ? There’s always something new or a twist on something we already have seen or hybrid of it . Also what do you think about the round subwoofer boxes I have seen them being made now we’re there ported different from back in the day . There measurements are off like the 10 ported is under a cubic foot so most 10s take a cube or more then you look at the 12” tube and it’s like sealed numbers 1.4 cubic feet ported I’m like buy a set of 12” tubes and put 10s in them might work they give you no port volume or exact size. There partly round or rectangular with sloped sides. I like the looks of them but we know the wolf can come in sheep’s clothing but enjoyed the info great video keep control of the other Pete and thanks again

I would love to see a video where you make a pair of bookshelves with a like a $300-500 budget and have Zeos Pantera Review them against all his speakers, haha. That would me a great colab. The best speakers I've ever had and still use are the giant JBL 590s that a bought when they go on sale for half off at around $900 for the pair. Theyre giants and need space but theyre mainly for home theatre duties or blasting music and sound incredible. No buyers remorse on those. I also have an original pair of the Yamaha HS80s for Music Production before the went to the HS8 that I got from a buddy for $350 which was a quite the hookup. Those too sound great. After hearing Zeos talk about the OHM Walsh's that he has, I've been dying to hear the sound of an omni-directional speaker, especially at that level. It drives me nuts that omni-directionls are so rare in the market, especially for use as surrounds. You think an Omni would be amazing for that since it would disperse the audio nicely and be more vague so the ear doesnt "hear" the audio coming from the speaker in a manner it shouldnt, if you know what I mean. That why I have my surrounds against the wall but aimed up so the reflect nicely off the wall while giving a much bigger sound stage and your ears cant pinpoint the speaker.

This dude does not fuck around. Instant sub. I'll agree with what someone else said, I also feel like I just got a highly condensed lecture with no bullshit filler. Amazing video.

Thanks to this video, I finally found out what’s the name of the design I made 15 years ago and it’s nothing more than a T-line. That’s what I used to call it anyway but then lots of people have been telling me that it’s not a T-line and I always was confused to what the hell it was.

I like high info density videos like this, no drawn out introductions and repeating over and over or product placements. Greatly appreciated! 7 minutes well spent!

So... which would be best for SPL or someone that wants the "optimal" or "best config" for having a good quality bass sound, while having a strong SPL (basically, which would you recommend for the "best of both worlds"?)

You're asking a bit much.... you either loose your foreskin or you keep it. You can't have it both ways ;-)

Interesting vid for sure. I'd be curious to see which one you could get the loudest and flattest in a SQL build.
