For mobile diagnostics, you need an ELM327 scanner (AliExpress) and a smartphone.
Connect the ELM327 to the diagnostic socket (with the ignition off). The first connection is recommended when the car is running, the box is in neutral or in parking mode.
The first time you connect, you need to create a car profile. The brand and main parameters of the car are indicated. This is necessary because different manufacturers or even one manufacturer in different models uses different data reading schemes. Therefore, in order not to harm the car, these features must be taken into account.
Next, we connect to the ELM327 (turn on WIFI or Bluetooth in the phone and check that the connection is successful. In the application settings, also indicate how you connect (WIFI or Bluetooth) and connect.
What to do if the connection fails:
Check if the car is started. Is the ELM327 adapter turned on (light on some adapters)?
Close and open the MotorData OBD app.
Check that your phone sees the ELM327 device.
You may have previously connected to the ELM327 with another application and it remained busy. Close this application and turn off / on the adapter.
Perhaps your adapter connects only to one of the buses and it does not read data from your car (this is usually clear when you first connect the ELM327).

After you have connected to the car, you can start diagnostics. Select a connection block. In the free mode, the engine block and OBD parameters are available (including reading and deleting errors from the engine).
To connect to the rest of the units, you need a diagnostic plug-in for a specific brand. The diagnostic plug-in allows you to connect to more blocks (the number of blocks depends primarily on your car, up to 25 blocks). For example, 7 blocks are read from Lada Kalina-2 (engine, 103 parameters, ABS (30 parameters), transmission (51 parameters), climate control (14 parameters), steering, electrical equipment.
When scanning errors, you must connect to each control unit! Before deleting the error, save its screenshot and freeze frame. Remember that deleting an error is not repairing your car in any way and is carried out only after the malfunction has been eliminated.
Diagnostic plugins are available for the following brands:
• Toyota + Lexus / HYBRID (Camry, Corolla, Rav4, Land Cruiser, Prius, Aqua, etc.)
• Nissan + Infiniti (X-Trail, Qashqai, Juke, Murano, Note, Almera, Primera, Tiida, Teana, etc.)

In the free version of the program, it is possible to check how they work and how many control units read paid diagnostic plugins. If your ELM autoscanner supports 327 requests for the protocol of your car, all available parameters will be visible, and the values of some of them will be closed with the # symbol until the plug-in is purchased.
You can also customize the dashboard (everything is as usual: you can display data as a scale, graph, value or graph with a group of parameters).
There is a black theme for night diagnostics and a projection of data on the glass (so that the driver can see them).
