I thought devon carter literally broke all the combine speed records so why wouldn’t you have him over dillingham there or at least second. Seems wrong to me
Matas Buzelis is an underrated choice for second best athlete in the class. Also like that you mentioned Dunn for interior defense but the second best interior defender is obviously Clingan
Not sure Buzelis is that type of athlete he looks kind of slow to me and needs to add muscle but it’s hard to tell before a guy is like 21-22. Dunn is definitely a better athlete he just doesn’t have any idea how to work with a ball in his hands
Ron Holland has a tunnel vision problem which correlates with a suspect basketball IQ He gets into the paint easily, but once there he often doesn't know what to do next, especially when he's being closed down by multiple players. This leads to the Sus basketball IQ because he either doesn't see the open men or simply just wants to play hero ball.
Yup and he’s not gonna be averaging a dunk once every 14 minutes like Jonathan Kuminga or finishing through elite defenders chests like him to make up for some of that lack of iq and shooting. He absolutely needs to improve those areas long term to be worth a top pick his athleticism is great but not elite enough to bank on that alone
Ron Holland is a terrific athlete but calling him a freak and comparable to Amen Thompson is too far. He’s gonna have to shoot it well to be more than a decent role player and apparently he can’t hit anything in workouts. If he was that type of athlete mocks wouldn’t have him falling out of the top 10 and lottery in a weak class especially because he shown some skill level. I’m still high on him (no7) but ppl expecting him to be a world beating athlete like Amen, Kuminga or Jalen Johnson are going to be disappointed. Ryan Dunn is the best athlete imo over Holland slightly but he has zero skill with the ball or shooting touch unfortunately
Jalen Johnson was pick 20, Keon Johnson literally had a 48 inch vert and was pick 21. They were both decent in college as well. Being athletic does not guarantee being top 10 at all.
@@Idk_tbh20 Jalen Johnson should’ve went top 5 or 6 it was a mistake he dropped and he only did due to teams being overly skeptical of his injury status and attitude same thing happened to Cam Whitmore last year. Keon Johnson is a run and jump only gaurd he is 6’3 with only 8’1 standing reach, below average strength and not graceful on the court he was never a freak athlete in NBA terms and can’t shoot that’s why he sucks I was never high on him at all
He’s not like the Thompsons but is a great athlete! This isn’t a draft where there are elite talents. All of the lottery picks have flaws such as great shooters but lack size like Sheppard at 3 potentially. Richaser can’t create his own shot at 1 to 2.
@@scottmuir6127 I agree and the only guy I think 100% should be drafted over Holland is Sarr because he’s the safest pick in the draft and has a pretty high ceiling too. I’d just be hesitant picking Holland top 4 if he’s not showing promise with his shot in workouts there are other players who are just safer picks but no certainties so I’d understand it. From all we’ve been hearing though it looks like he could fall out of the top 10 or lottery which I think is silly
@@look_at_kai If this was just an explosiveness list sure but he almost never applies his athleticism on defense (like LaVine) and has yet to impress me finishing through contact or making athletic plays other than dunking
Somehow he got "best finisher" despite only finishing 55% of his short 2s. Yeah, he's a small guard and has good finishing skills, but there's an incredibly long list of bigger players who are way more proficient at scoring around the rim even though they don't look quite as pretty. It's a lot like the "most skilled" Kyrie glaze that pops up from time to time, even though Kyrie's always been a second fiddle star.
This is the weakest draft class I can remember since back in 1996 when I started keeping track. I don't see any all stars or guys that even dominate at the level their at now. How are they going to become stars in nba when they aren't even great college or g league players. It will be impressive if any of this draft class starts on an nba team. This is jusr an awful year for whatever reason.
