Thank you! I bought a Logitech on eBay and it wouldn't pair with the receiver no matter what I did. Inserting batteries with L1+R1 held finally allowed it to pair with the receiver.
Oh and I just want to add: I use this controller with PSOne (slim) as well, and everything works fine BUT, when you deploy (plug in) the dongl in 1st joystick port - there is no room for memory card in 1st memory slot! lol Those two ports are just too close to each other So, I had to use standart ps2 controller to save in games, then plug Logitech back
I know the PS2 had a MultiTap dongle to add additional controllers to a PS2, basically like a usb hub but for the controller ports. I’m not sure if they made something similar for the PS1. If they do then you’d likely be able to plug the dongle into your PSOne and then plug the Logitech receiver into the hub which would keep it away from the memory card slot.
This is actually one of my all time favorite controllers. I love the feel in the hand, it's far superior than the stock Dual Shock controllers in pretty much every way. It also feels super premium in general even compared to alot of today's controllers. The only quirk about it is with the one I have now the damn thing won't shut off even when the console is off. I gotta take a battery out of it. I also like the dpad much better than the stock controller too. It seems weird/plasticy but it is VERY accurate especially for fighting games. It's kind of like a mini version of a Sega Genesis dpad.

You should be able to get two of these controllers with the receivers for less than what a new game costs. Although I'd imagine there are probably other wireless PS2 controllers that might also be good but since I have this one I never researched to see if there are any other ones.
I've seen a few people online comment about these being good but haven't ever personally used one. I would say though that in 2023 (and now 2024) the best PS2 controller is probably a DualShock 3 with a Brooks wireless adapter (the old version was available long before 2023 and worked great). I also have some Retro Fighters Defender PS2 controllers which are workable, but finnicky - one of mine out of the box was turbo spamming either the D-pad or left analog stick left (couldn't figure out which one) until I sync'd it with its USB dongle and then back to the PS/PS2 dongle, and even still it's R2 trigger is ultra sensitive - it activates with just the slightest amount of pressure so I have to hold my fingers on that side up away from the button when not actively wanting to press it.
it's definitely the best ps2 wireless controller and honestly the best wireless controller i've used overall. The latency is amazing and ergonomics is amazing compared to many new controllers i've used... ONLY DOWNISDE IS THAT THIS THING HAS problems syncing and annoying to get it synced. mine don't even sync anymore and i got 4 of these controllers and none of them will sync..anyone has a fix for this?
Thanks for the review Especially for calibration instruction! I will try it on my controller - I have the first this Logitech for half a year, and I just bought a second one, it has the drift issue. It's a good controller in my opinion, but what I don't like - the "way" of the main buttons to push is too long, you know. Its like too deep, and its take "extra" time to push the button fully to the end. Its kinda annoying, but still ok. without wires... Im glad, that I have it
FInding out how to calibrate it saved me from giving up on this controller. And the face buttons do have a farther travel than the shorter DualShock button travel but just about everything else is better with this controller.
Still use this controller since the day I bought it when it first came out at game stop using a controller adapter with my pc cause nothing really feels as good in my hands thats newer
Did the batteries come inside the controller? That would be the only thing that makes me hesitate to buy one that hasnt been open. Those batteries would be toast if so.
It uses removable double A batteries so as long as the previous owner didn't leave them in and let them corrode the contacts, batteries shouldn't be as issue.
i just got this controller, but the shoulder buttons feel very unprecise. I tried it with GT4 and accelerating and braking an exact amount is very hard. Any suggestions would could be wrong?
HELLO amazing helpful RU-vidr. I hope I can explain this clearly. I desire a pair (2) of PlayStation 2 controllers which work wirelessly via the SAME wireless dongle stuck into BOTH PS2 controller ports at the same time. This allows me to turn one off while my friend on the other side of the room turns theirs on in order to switch who's controlling player 1 for taking turns in single player games without having to throw one controller back and forth across the room. You may laugh but I have purchased a controller that does exactly this, which is a ProGamer (brand) PS2 wireless 2-controller set with a single dongle that splits into 2 wires and plugs into both controller ports simultaneously and does exactly what I described. The problem is one of the controllers has a faulty analog stick that doesn't activate when going left, and I can't find this brand or this type of controller or anything like it to replace this set up. If you have any thoughts or solutions I would much appreciate it. Thank you Mr Everything 💚
And I should note that I'm unconcerned about the quality of the controller since my main requirement is for it to simply function properly and work in the ways I described. Thanks
