Donnie has been in my prayers for quite some time, bless his heart. I have always loved his videos and you're right he does a great job teaching history of Appalachia. I've been noticing that Matt actually looks A LOT less stressed and much younger recently, I guess retiring from the daily work grind really suits him.

Tipper I love black walnuts too. I can eat them by the handful. Love a black walnut pound cake. We always have a black walnut layer cake at Christmas. Larry’s grandaddy used to make it. Now his mom makes it. It has a cooked type filling type icing on it and chopped black walnuts. It’s divine! Will pray for Donnie and look for his channel. Prayers for Katie as she prepares to meet that sweet little fellow.

My ex just had back surgery a week ago. While still in recovery room he began having chest pain. Scan showed huge blood clot in his lung. Another procedure sucked it out and then another put in a filter. Scans of his legs showed many clots. He goes to rehab today for continued therapy. Donnie is lucky to be alive. I will be happy to support his channel and pray for him. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

You can't go wrong with pumpkin bread❤I love it! Another thing I really like and appreciate is.. when we (women) can't get something to work and then your dad or your husband steps in, and takes over for us and fixes it! I loved it💜when Matt saw his wife was struggling.. he stepped in.. put on his glasses😊and took his place, "as man of the House". He fixed it. I don't care what anyone says, we love and value our men. There are some thing's only a man can do! Then (don't get mad) the look on his face when Tipper blamed the bread falling apart on him because he's the one who wanted it hot. Lol😊❤❤ It's easy to see you two are still in love with each other. Tipper you are a good wife and I notice all the way's you take care of Matt. Hard working, both of you.❤❤

My husband and I both love listening/watching Donnie Laws videos. Really hated to hear he’s having health problems! Saw him last night, talking about what he’s been through. Praying for him, and his family, hoping he’ll soon feel better! I wish there was a way that we could send a get well card to him.

Love watching your videos, today I about fell out of my chair from a blast from the past when Matt had looked like a porky pig glass. When I was in high school I worked at Hardee's in 1977 and 78 and we sold glasses like those.😂😂😂 . Also I like to watch Donnie Laws videos too. Have a good day and injoy your pumpkin bread .❤

I LOVE to listen and watch Donnie Law's videos and stories. I REALLY love the history. We need to know more because without it we lose part of US. So many generations. Most of my close family from there is gone. Back when I used to go with my parents to visit family there, there was just never enough time to get to go see and visit others in rhe family. Maybe a little... Family gathered at our Mamaw's or wherever we could fit in. They always welcomed more family when we got together. To get to go to the cemeteries, not much, unless to the closest relatives. There never was enough time. I'm sorry for Donnie's health issues and he'll be in my prayers as well. He does such a good job with all of you as well.

I’ve always enjoyed Donnie Laws videos, but I don’t always keep up with the most current ones. So, I’m glad that you mentioned this. Pumpkin bread with a story !👏👏👏Then I went directly to Donnie Law's youtube videos. I subscribed, selected to view "How Gas Stations Have Changed" That was a intersting, entertaining, presentation. My birthday is 3 days after Christmas. By the time we've gotten through Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, plus various birthdays, I was not wanting cake. So my mom used to make a pumpkin bread for me from a recipe she found in the newspaper. It had maraschino cherries & crushed pineapples & nuts. I could smell your bread through the tv. We will pray for your friend and watch some videos for him.❤

Boy that’s some good looking loaves of pumpkin bread. My mouth is watering. I bet it doesn’t make Matt and Katie mad to be called in during the afternoon to sample some good sweet bread. The look on Matt’s face was priceless when you told Katie she could come back and finish hers later and he thought you were talking to him. I will watch Donnie’s channel, I never have but am looking forward to it and wish him speedy recovery.

We did have pumpkin bread in the fall usually but more often we had pumpkin pie or pumpkin roll. We always had lots of sweet breads and we had walnut trees so we always had them in the freezer to add when needed. We had banana bread, zucchini bread, applesauce cake which was a bread, and Grandma made orange slice cake or bread which was my absolute favorite. It had orange slices cut up in it. Makes my mouth water thinking about it. We also had some pecan trees so we used whichever one we wanted. We used to sit around the fireplace at night and crack and pick out black walnuts and pecans and kept them in bread bags in the freezer. When we wanted a snack we would get a handful of nuts out of the freezer. Those were the days. Thanks for helping me remember those good times.

Black walnuts are one of the tastes of my childhood. When my Granny made Christmas candy 9 times out of 10 there would be black walnuts in it. There were black walnut trees all over our land and we often helped her gather then hull them. That's hard work! I love the taste to this day. I will certainly pray for your friend Donnie. I love the videos that Donnie Laws puts up, they are so informative, thank you for sharing. I just love the way so many of the U-tubers, and others in the video world, look after each other. I find this to be especially true in the videos about Appalachia and nearby areas. What a great community for you to be a part of.
