Congrats on the 500K subs you guys. You deserve it, for me personally, you're the best and most trusted Tech RU-vid channel that exists, especially for reviewing hardware and benchmarks. Keep up the work.
For anyone interested in the Gigabyte Gaming OC, they recently released a Rev 2 of the same card with 3 rather than 5 heat pipes. So YMMV when it comes to cooling. All the reviews so far are done with Rev 1.
I ordered the Sapphire Pulse last week and this video confirms I made the right choice. Can’t wait to play when it shows up. Thanks for your hard work breaking it all down.
Agreed. I always buy from exclusive partners only who sell either green or red camp cards only but not both. Companies like Asus who sells card for both green and red camps always try to reuse their Nvidia coolers on AMD cards to save R&D and tooling cost, in the end, they dont fit perfectly right.
@@RaveCoaster yep and that's what I thought also I believe this world is balance so I doubt build quality of sapphire lol. So when I wont use it (let say 5 years from now) and then sell it, I think the sapphire is in pretty bad condition at that moment. you know , I cant use rx 5600xt forever XD
@@5tivi i was referring to the Backplate and the side, where the RGB Sapphire wording is. You will definitely see that thru the glass, plus the lights.
I got one on a good deal on Walmart, something like 280. I am glad to see it's the best one, though it's massive and it's usually 330, as they said in the video, for that prices it's better to just simply jump to the 5700.
Looks like the best overall 5600 XT model IMHO, with the Sapphire Pulse one being the easier to find and more budget friendly all-arounder. If I'd look to get one and the availability and price was right, the Gaming X would probably be my first choice. Even tho I have grown sour with MSI over the years.
Can't wait for the next Q&A. I have to ask. HOW are you moving camera's point of view so smoothly? It's absolutely awesome! I once saw how Tim does this (in reflection in plastic of one of monitors he reviewed): he moves his camera using his hands and sometimes and noticable on video, but your cameras moves silky smooth
Love these videos. They helped me and i went for the Sapphire card, the near silent operation was what i liked about it and it was almost at the top of most of the tests. Got it for a bargain £290 here in the UK with free postage and recieved 2 free games too! The 5600 XT replaced my aging GTX 970 and I'm happy. I wanted a good cheapish upgrade that was better than my GTX 970 but not to expensive as I'd still like to consider one of the newer cards from AMD or Nvidia once they are announced and I've seen some tested 👍
it's one of my favorite too. i noticed that i'm watching their videos almost everyday now. LMG has "different" content/approach but still interesting in general like here in hardware unboxed.
I think Steve has a bit of a Navi 10 hoarding problem... But I love this content. The last few years the quality of GPU's went down so much to the point where a lot of mainstream models are just bad and even high end ones are no guaranty of actually being good. Just about nobody was actually testing the models that where not sent around for review. Finally somebody is doing this and calling out manufactures when they make something bad.
@@enchantress7928 Shut up trash fanboy, not all people has 600$ to put in a GPU. Sub 500$ AMD GPUs has better quality/price ratio. Why are you watching Hardware Unboxed video if its too be a fantrashboy, just go for LinusTech sponsored videos or any other trash sponsor videomaker.
Went with the Gigabyte Gaming OC for a friends computer I just built. It’s a nice card, very cool and quiet. I didn’t feel comfortable flashing the 14Gbps bios on it though as there are so many reports of it not being stable afterwards. Some of these cards just can’t handle the higher clock speeds and there’s a reason they’re still shipping with the 12Gbps bios months after launch. Would have tried it if it were mine but I didn’t have much time for stability testing and the last thing I need is to send a friend home with a potentially unstable system.
Noo I'm just thinking about purchasing a 5700xt and thought is says so in the title... xD bummer couse I didnt find any really new comparisons. Hopefully in the near future! Keep it up!
You can infer the Red Devil wouldn't be a good buy because iirc other Steve (Tech Jesus) at GN said they put the same pcb and cooler on the 5700 and 5600
Got snipped on a 5700XT I an auction last weekend. Sorry but not that sorry. Just looking for a placeholder until the next gen GPUs hit the market in Q1 2021
My new Powercolor 5600xt Red Devil (14Gbps) costed me 292€. It's a beast. Definitely super quiet and temps are more than fine: 43-45 idle (30% fan) and 60-65 gaming ( fan 45%). I flashed the bios so my clocks now are: core 1770mhz, memory 1860mhz, boost 1820mhz. BENCHMARKS @1080p ultra settings: AC odissey (60 fps avg), Modern warfare (125 fps avg). Never had black screens or any kind of problems (amd 3600+b450+16gb ram 3200mhz). I don't know about the other brands he tested, but his Powercolor Red Devil's results are not reliable, completely different by my perfect experience with that card.
Great test :D I have Sapphire Pulse + Ryzen 5 1600 AF + G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200 on ASRock Fatal1ty K4. Every game I have tested runs smooth on ultra in 1080p and PC stays very quiet. It's easy to lower temperatures by speeding up the fans in more demanding games, or tun on 0 RPM mode on idle. I wish it had RGB LED instead of only red sign :( I don't know why they didn't make Nitro+ version, like 5500 or 5700, maybe it's too good :D
I remember Sapphire being the MVP for AMD since the 7970s series. Those engineers can really push performance while maintaining low temperatures and noise levels. I'm starting to believe they engage in the dark arts :/
@@guynamedstevo6581 checked the new teknik video and saw a comment about it being ahead of the curve while I have been looking at the 5600 XT for a long time because it is around $215~. Coincidence? No but you can feel the scale of time when you start off with perf/$ learning about RDNA and CGN with AMD/ATI
Very many thanks! I was about to buy a Sapphire Pulse (439CAD) but just bought a Gigabyte Gaming OC (409CAD minus 20CAD MIR (hate them, but 20 bucks is 20 bucks)). You saved me $50CAD (plus 13% tax of course). Thank you! Now I overclock my i7-7700k and wait a year to see what's what in the CPU/MB department. I was going to get a B450/Ryzen 5 but that's off the table now. Congrats on the 500k subscribers... well earned!
Gigabyte Gaming OC came with 12 Gbps memory setting; flashed it to 14 Gbps and it's downstairs, folding at home as a stress test. Great temps so far, very happy!
I had folding failures until I increased power level 10% through Radeon software. Now stable as a rock, and the power increase didn't increase temperature or noise. Based on 3 weeks using it, I'd recommend the Gigabyte Gaming OC if you're comfortable increasing power level. If not, go for the Pulse.
In the interests of full disclosure, I have now had a couple of problems while Folding @ Home, on high settings, I would occasionally have a failure, and twice I got bad artifacting; this with the 10% power level increase. I updated from vbios FA0 to FA1, and have run for several days on high with no failures to fold, and no artifacting. I suggest upgrading the vbios. I used AMD's tool, since I had problems with directly flashing. I also stay current on Radeon drivers.
It's inevitable that viewers will come to these videos not for buying advice, but just for reassurance they bought the "right" card. I bought a Thick3Pro for my recent build as cost was a consideration, but it's also a beast of a card. With the BIOS flash it's been great. Awesome video; these past few weeks you've more than earned my subscription.
love this channel! i regret haven't found you yet when i upgraded my pc. just bought MSI MPG x570 gaming plus that turns out REALLY HOT (then i saw your review on x570 boards). now for VGA i won't misguided again :D, thanks mate!
Got my Sapphire RX 5600 XT Pulse recently. The temp is 60°c max on gaming and Blender rendering. Really good performance and no issue on the driver as far as I use now.
The Sapphire card picked as a winner is currently over $300 and the warranty is only 2 years, not the typical 3 years you get with MSI and some other brands. If you live in the US take a look at MSI gaming MX on newegg for around $230.
1:58 "lower is better" above the graphs should say the opposite . I know this is nitpicking but I have come to expect nothing but excellence from this channel :)
Couldn't get my hands on a Sapphire Pulse or lower price MSI 5600 so I settled for XFX 5600 Thicc 3 Pro for 299.99, and I have to say I'm pleased. Runs pretty quiet for three fans even at higher speeds.
I saw that XFX recently released a new 5700XT model, called "Lufter". Seeing how competitive this last Thicc III cooler is, it would be nice to see if they managed to pull off a very good 5700XT too. Could you maybe have a look at both 5700XT Thicc III and Lufter to see the various developments and improvements in their cooler desing starting from the Thicc II?
I always had Sapphire GPU in my rig except once and I regretted it quite a lot! Started with ATi Sapphire 2600 Pro, then I bought MSI R9 270X which I had to claim warranty two times after which they returned me the money so I bought AMD Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ and just recently I bought AMD Sapphire RX 5700 XT Nitro+ and I haven't been happier :)
It's the same thing in Europe. Yeah real nice that all the fancy 5600XT's cost 310-330 EUR but the ASRock 5700 Challenger D costs 340 EUR. Even the cheaper 5600XT's are 300-310 EUR so seriously why bother if you can get a 5700 for 30-40 EUR's more?
@@GSP-76 i agree, especially if you pay attention to amazon warehouse deals. A telegram channel that posts deals spotted an evga 2070S at around 340 euros for three times in the last couple months.
I can always come here and find what im looking for! Was debating the gigabyte of model on so many bad reviews but it's the one I want and I'm assured now!
Just noticed, it's probably been there forever... Is that a can of Krating Daeng on the shelf above the Gamer's Nexus logo? Honestly would explain how Steve's been able to be such a benchmarking BEAST lately!
Just got the Asus strix oc Version a few days aggo at 280€ in stead of around 340€ . I can't hear it over my bequit silent wings 3 high speed fans at 1100rpm and the temperature is around 48-57 in world of Warcraft and never gets over 60 in other games. The new bios works great. Just a wonderful card all around and at the price it was a no brainier.
Steve quickly blink twice in your next youtube video if someone is holding you hostage and making you do all these benchmarks. I want to thank that person for helping us out with all this valuable data.
im building a pc to a friend and we were thinking about the 5600xt or 5700 for his build. literally the only 5600xt in the country is the asus TUF, glad they fixed the newermodeles
This was great, thank you! I've been trying to choose between the Gigabyte Gaming OC and the MSI Mech OC. (They're the only ones available to me at the moment). Will definitely be choosing the Gigabyte GPU.
Just a heads up on the Sapphire PULSE RX 5600 XT. There are two variants out there one uses the PULSE RX 5700 cooler and the other has the PULSE RX 5700 XT one. If you are lucky you can get even better value for money. Part number to look out for if you want the bigger cooler variant: 299-5E411-202SA
Been using Sapphire for many years for any AMD cards I've ever had. I went with a Gaming X this time around mainly availability and I am really happy with it. It's my first MSI graphics card, and I've only ever owned a few MSI products in the past as well. So far so good though, it is a huge card (Mine is a 5700XT Gaming X)
Holy smokes, that you so much for the information. It's amazing the amount of hardware you have and how well you benchmark it so that it's easy to read. Thank you for your efforts to save me 30$ I very much appreciate it. :)
Thanks Steve, very impressive review is and your research certainly helped made my decision to buy MSI Radeon RX 5600 XT GAMING X. As am looking for max GPU performance but same time not compromising too much on fan noise. Also can you please be able to discuss more on noise levels than before with these PC parts and the setup of other fans you will use and the ambient db as a reference point, as people like myself who are very sensitive to noise levels in quite room, thanks
I looked at comments on the place where i bought my Sapphire Pulse RX 5600 XT and all of them said it works like it's water cooled and it was the cheapest 5600 XT so i bought it and man does it run cool, it doesn't even use it's fans below 60 degrees celsius and it rarely gets to 60. Used it with a 1080p 144 Hz monitor in LoL, Dota 2(vulkan), WoW(DX12), Witcher 3 etc. high graphics, made it work at max clock speed and it still rarely got to 60 degrees and when it did it just opened it's fans for a few seconds and it was back down to 50-55 all the time.
