I got the M2 evo and it flys unreal !!! Very stable and a joy to fly ,,, high quality heli ,, its becoming my favorite heli to fly !!!

The M1Evo has quickly became my favourite heli. Flies amazing, so stable and flies so much bigger than it is. If you’re thinking about it don’t wait any longer. It will more than likely exceed your expectations. Should put Blade out of business.

Excellent video as usual. Great that you involved other flyers. I was always interested in helicopters but price and skill level prevented me from trying them out. That’s why I now fly drones. Very tempted with these. Still the best reviewer by a country mile.

Do you have to re bind the zorro switching back and forth between M1 and 2 or does it save multiple models?

No rebinding necessary as the ZORRO is a true RC hobby radio. You could own a 100 helicopters, planes, FPV Drones and all could be in the radio and each could be selected at anytime without having to rebind.

Hi Steve. Oops - I just saw that currently model airplanes (anything) up to 500g can be flown with no particular restrictions. But it is likely that the European Union directives will be adopted in the very near future; then the limit is 250g.

I have a small drone and a couple rc planes. I like these 2 heli’s, look like just top quality stuff. How are they when it’s a little windy? I live in Colorado with Pikes Peak[14,000 ft) out my front door. There is usually a breeze. I liked that you put that GO-2 underneath. Good shots !!! Which one is big enough to put your sticker on. I’ve been holding on to them from the last contest. Thanks Steve. 👍👍👍

Helicopters are not affected by the wind when out of stability mode. In stability mode, then the wind can affect them as they have less of a flight angle to cut thru the wind.

I know that with the heli arena it can be confusing to know which transmitters work with what receivers. I started out as a heli enthusiast early 2010 (dsmx/blade crowd), but quads have taken over for me and my helis have been on the shelf for about 5 years now. I see that this "can support" dsmx, but out of the box? I have a dx6i controller and was wondering if this would bind or if I would need to get a dsmx receiver for it.

The M1 has a FUTABA receiver and the M2 has an OMP receiver which means you need a radio that connects to such receivers such as any 4-IN-1 RADIO on the market. If you are stuck with a SPEKTRUM radio, then you would need to plug in your SPEKTRUM receiver to the indicated spot & then bind to said receiver.

M1 comes now in OFS protocol variant as well for 4in1 radios and opentx supports it. Also I believe SPEKTRUM is not recommended because it apparently doesnt allow you to set custom curves and there is some dead band in M1/M2 around +/-8 TLDR get some opentx radio. I have jumper t-pro v2 on the way (similar form factor to zorro).

hi Captain i have just received my M2 supposed RTF but got no receiver i have been in touch but no reply, i bought this through ali express seems they send what they want, this happen'd as well to one of my mates. not good service.

You should buy the same throttle as your drone. So if your throttle is on the left, that is Mode 2. If on the right then Mode 1.

Wow Steve! You have the best job in the world.lol These choppers are both wicked looking. Finally they got smart enough to make the controller part of the ready to fly package. This is one of the things that scares a rc truck and camera drone person is the fear of getting a separate controller and having to load the right operating system or whatever. Or the fear that you may buy something that doesn't work together. Basically the fear of the unknown. I have always been afraid of helicopters and had huge respect for helicopter pilots. They look gear drive. Which do you prefer gear or belt and why?

I bought the original m2 before they became high in demand. The original has aluminum servos and all carbon fiber absolutely no plastic and a fiberglass canopy. Still haven't flown it lol.9

That is on hold because I'm waiting for AUTEL to launch the tracking firmware for the NANO+. If that doesn't happen in the next couple of weeks, then I'll go ahead with the comparison regardless.

Steve please do afull review on how set up the new zorro radio i just received my evo rtf but the radio has to many switches and buttons for a new be like me that just wants to fly around a bit can you do a basic vid basic to get this up in the air.with out playing with the tons of stuff that this radio has and what the main switches are.that would be great just the very basics .thankyou for your time.

If you got the RTF with the ZORRO, then all you do is push all the switches AWAY from you and you will be in stabilitiy mode. The switch on the front lower RIGHT is your HOLD switch. When in the HOLD position your blades won't spin when you move the left throttle stick.

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Steve got the new batteries for the zorrow radio today charged up the heli battery also did what you said on the switches but no luck got a solid red light with a blue flashing light on the reciever.so I pressed the bind button then the red still stayed solid and the blue light flashed faster but still nothing motors not spinning note I did remove the blades before trying this im thinking the only way for this to work is changeing something inside the radio but this is supposed to be ready to fly well not in a long shot very disapointed with this.

@@123windyron So from what you have written you are not bound to the helicopter. The RC hobby is very easy, but ONLY if you know what you’re doing. I fear you are a super beginner, therefore your learning curve is gonna be immense. Worse, you may have caused settings issues on your flight controller of the heli. The best thing to do is to send me an email at captaindrone798@gmail.com and explain in detail how you attempted to BIND the radio to the helicopter. This way I can pinpoint what you are doing wrong.

While these are the best pre built helis, they are nowhere near the best RC helicopter on the market. I'd definitely hand that off to SAB at the moment, especially with the RAW 420 kit they just released. Amazing kit!

These are by far the best RC helicopters for the price. If I spend $1000 I’ll have an awesome heli, but I’d be out a $1000. The OMPHOBBY M1 & M2 EVO have the best price I’ve seen considering what you get.

What is the estimated flight range?

Helicopters all normally come with a minimum flight range of under 250 meters. The flight range on these models would depend on the receiver, antennas and the radio and antennas, so if one wanted to fly 10 miles, all you'd have to do is modify the items mentioned.

Then beginners would never buy such an item. You need the “everyday pilot” to make people interested in Helis so that they know they too have the skills to fly.
