This was my brother's absolute favorite song, walked around singing it all the time and asked literally EVERYONE if they had ever heard it and if not he played it for them. He's been gone 12 years now but this is like I'm right there with him again. Thank you to all of you for feeling it and bringing him back to me for ever just a moment. METAL WILL NEVER DIE!!!!
I remember late 90’s I was blasting this song (as I still do to this day) and, a black guy pulled up next to me at a light. I couldn’t hear him obviously so, he tossed something across the hood of my truck to get my attention. I turned it down and, thought he was gonna ask for directions but no: he said: “who is that and, song title”? I told him Pantera “Walk”. I know he started his Metal journey that day. Wherever you are dude, love for you and 🤘🏻.
The song is about Pantera being treated differently from some of their friends, that believed their success went to their head, this was Enselmo's way of telling them "No, we didn't change, y'all changed" and my fav..."if y'all don't like us anymore, (walk on home boy) take your shit somewhere else". Enselmo's actual quote from a concert here in Houston Tx.
25k Subscribers!!! Thanks to everyone who has supported the channel. I read all of your comments and truly appreciate all of the kind words and positive vibes you all have sent my way. I hope you will continue to enjoy these videos as much as I like making them. I also want to give a big shout out to all the reactors, without who, this channel would not be possible. RIP Vinnie and Dimebag.
The fact you still mention Vinnie in the comment, is absolutely ok. A whole generation remembers Dimebag reinventing the guitar, and he always had his brother Vinnie with him. 🤘🏻
Congratulations! I mean this in all sincerity, your selection of which songs and reactors to do this with, on top of your incredible editing skills, I will not be surprised when you hit over 100K! Your reaction compilations are absolutely the best I’ve seen! Thank you for the fantastic work you do!!
The way you edit these videos really makes it feel like we’re all listening “together”, which I think is partially why reaction vids got so popular during the pandemic. I enjoy these videos more than the original reactions themselves. You’ve struck gold here. Keep it up and know your work is appreciated!
What gets me more hyped than the music when I watch these reaction videos? Seeing everyone get hardcore into it, to see people enjoy and get into a genre they normally wouldn't listen to is the best. To see everyone exposed to so many different styles and genre and actually love it is the best for me. So much respect to artists from every genre, so much great music out there. Music can unite people and music is something anyone can relate to.
@@ared-ainusame here 😂 as soon as this channel and others like it started getting recommended to me I’ve subbed to every one so I keep coming back to them
I love watching non-metal people experiencing metal for the first time, and realizing there is more to it than just noise. They felt the energy, appreciated the lyrics.... love it!
Phil even commented on a Lost in Vegas reaction to their song, but people kept telling to stop listening to Pantera, because Phil is "racist". Sad really, because they are missing out on one of the best metal bands ever.
I'm so jealous of them! Nothing like receiving that first punch to your face from these great album. It's hard to explain the feeling , just watch them faces. I was 15 when I first heard this song , it became my cardinal rule, which I still follow 30 years later. Be yourself mf's! And keep that bs away from me
This song is about when Phil was in a private school in New Orleans. And as you can see he did not fit in with the other kids. He was raised at a time in the 80’s and his father had a famous restaurant and he quit school to be a singer at 16 or 17 years old. This guy has been singing in a band for more than 35 years and he’s only 55. He started with Pantera in 1986. And was the first and only heavy metal band to have a number 1 one song on the charts. In 1990’s watching them at the state palace theatre in 1994 before Hurricane Katrina destroyed it was just the best time.
I have only seen 1 review that did the entire album . I would love to see more reviewers do the entire album. But using the actual CD. The engineering that was done on this album is what make you by the end of the album exhausted, sweaty, in pain, want to punch something. The well placed slower songs to give you a break. The no time at all to breathe between songs. This album is an experience. One song at a time is great but the entire album is an experience to be had.
This came out back when I was younger, and I still am myself and I by myself and most of the time I am by myself... I have been crossed before and yet I am still standing !
OH HELL YES!! great job, dude. great cuts, great song choice. I was planning a Pantera also but was stuck debating between Walk, Domination or Cemetery Gates…but this came out great. btw, my first show ever was this tour!! it was killer. 🤘🏻😁
Also, Pantera wasn't just a band, they were an experience. I can only think of a few other artists that were of that level. There was just something about the Abbott brothers that brought something different. It was cool to be a fan in their peak, and see that they were one of the few metal bands holding strong through all of grunge. Nirvana's Nevermind killed a lot of bands, Pantera persevered, and got torn apart by drugs, egos, and the mainstream music press.
I truly hope that there's a way for D.D. to feel all of the universal LOVE & RESPECT that he's gotten through the many years now since his tragic end. Respect @ D.B. for your generosity in sharing your work.
For the brother who said he has to go to a rock concert once in my life. You will welcomed with open arms. Color will and does not matter. You missed the 80s but don't wait to long. The energy will make you lose yourself. One color is important. Green....tee shirt cold beer and wait to have one of the better nights of your life. Do it brother!!!!
I love seeing new folks learn why we love this type of metal, the rush, the adrenaline...seeing people discover this for the first time is moving. Great video, thank you.
Metal is for the masses, all walks of life. Love seeing a new generation or an older generation discovering that metal is more than dudes in a cargo shirts and black shirts. Pantera still hits hard today as it did back in the 90's. Long live Pantera
Chills everytime! I do the fingers when he says "walk" too ! Lol 😂 fucking love it! Everyone should experience PANTERA! I was blessed in 96 to see them live. Best concert ever! The vibe was different from anything I ever experienced. You can't duplicate but tribute will be awesome! Watching people feel this for the first time is so amazingly beautiful ❤️
All my favorite reactors!!!!! I love how everyone loves this song and just Pantera in general when they first listen to them... they just had a vibe that can not be recreated again...
My all time favorite song. I stay away from it on purpose to not take it for granted and when I come across it again it goes right back to the daily playlist in the truck.
I have been to a live show. Let me tell you that it was insane. I never felt outta place. These guys live are right next to watching my kids be born. It was so amazing! I’m grateful to have done that.
I met Vinnie before he died in Vegas and he was such a cool dude. Stopped eating his dinner to stand up and take pictures and sign autographs. Made everyone feel like they weren't bothering him. RIP
Was 16 in 1983 and was there for the birth of thrash,at the time it was "our" music, glad 40 years later its everybodys music!!!metal is universal and knows no color, race or age only attitude!!!!
Dime's solo hits the head for me, I can feel it deep down to my core, bring tears to my eyes & I'm not one to cry lol. Pantera is my favorite of all time & I can relate, listen to these immortal legends non-stop... RESPECT!💯🤘🏻👊🏻💪🏻❤️
We asked for backstage passes from SRO management 1995, 1996, for Aragon Ballroom Chicago.. Got them. Phil would go absolutely nuts on stage! Afterwards, the nicest most down to earth person ever. "How'd you guys like the show" he would ask. Their crew always provided a garbage can full of ice cold beers for us...and we all partied and smoked.
Someone said they would love to see this band live, but sadly we lost 2 of this band members but when I was 19 years old Pantera came to Maryland and played the biggest rock club on the east coast called Hammerjacks and I was 1 out of 5 girls in the audience and it was amazing and full of energy and everyone was in awe and having the best time of their lives because we all knew we were witnessing the most talented band of musicians from Texas. During a song one of the club's security pulled someone's long hair and the lead singer seen this and stopped the show for 20 minutes until someone apologized to that audience member. Every in the crowd started to chat Apologize Apologize Apologize the owner Lou wanted to know what was going on. Lucky I ran into Lou coming back from the bar and told him which bouncer pulled hair which made the band stop. I guess no one was going to tell Lou the truth because the bouncer's stick together and the bartenders were not paying attention because of the large crowd of people buying drinks that Lou was on his way to the sound engineer when I stopped him and told the truth. Lou grabbed that bouncer made him go on stage to apologize to not just the long hair guy but to us and most importantly the band and Lou let them play longer than usual. After the show I had to use the ladies room which is next to the back stage area and Vinnie Paul Abbot the drummer stopped me and wanted to know if I can hang out for awhile and I asked can my friend come also and I partied with Pantera all night until their bus was leaving and they drove us to my friends car. They were the nicest musicians I have ever met and I met alot because I was a stage lighting designer for another rock club in Maryland for 12 years. While hanging out not one of them asked me to have sex with them they just like hanging with some fans to learn about Maryland and also that night I found out that the guitarist of Pantera Darryl Dimebag Abbot and I shared the same birthday except he was born 5 years ahead of me. We played a drinking game and to get Darryl and me to take a drink everyone would say my birthday is February 16 and Darryl and I would have to take a drink and Darryl's girlfriend Rita was so nice. Years later I ran into Vinnie at a restaurant in Maryland and he remembered that night. Sadly a friend of mine was doing security for Vinnie and Darryl's new band Damage Plan and he was there that tragic night when a crazed fan shot Darryl and also killed my friend who was trying to stop the killer crazed fan who just shot Darryl in the head 6 times. Just 2 years ago Vinnie died of a heart attack but I believe it was heart break. I was one of the luckiest people on earth to see and meet The Abbott brothers and the rest of the band and wished that Pantera never broke up and feel sad for the surviving members who thought they can do better with out the Abbott brothers which led to the break up of this band. Skid row and other artists have said that Pantera influenced them but skid row saw Pantera down in Texas while they were on tour back in the late 1980s and when they went back into the studio to record their 2nd album they used Pantera as their muse. I happy to see you all discover the genius of Pantera and I think Darryl and Vinnie would to love to see and hear your reactions
Im going to see them in November, (opening for Metallica). I'm super excited but yeah I really wish I would have been able to see Dimebag and his brother live. Alas I was only 9 or so when Dimebag was killed
Thank you, Mr. Brooks!!! Please don't stop with these perfectly edited compilations. The sound mixing is incredible. It must be tough when trying to mix all the different posts and their individual levels. Bravo!!
Dime wrote this riff backstage on tour. Everyone was blown away with it, as simple of a metal blues twist that it was. The solo though, many attempt, many fail to achieve. Masterclass guitarwork.
I know it's been said before but man, your editing is SO GOOD. Flashing lights stopping when Mr. Video paused the video(for that exact reason) and the Bo Pacino fadeout while talking about how he hates fadeouts are just two of many gems. Keep up the good work!
LONG LIVE & FOREVER ROCK ON PANTERA!!! Amazing song, amazing band, amazing musicians!! It just don't get much better than this in the rock/heavy metal world!!! 💯🤘❤🤘
Two videos in a month? Bro, you are a f… legend. Not gonna lie, would’ve preferred the reactions to Domination Live @ Moscow. But still, great work bro ❤️
I love watching people find metal and other genres that they normally would never listened to. I love music that has a powerful message with incredible musicians at the top of their game. Be it metal, blues, motown, soul, country. There are only two kinds of music. The ones you hear and the ones you feel
