SPOT ON !! In my closest group of 8 girlfriends, we are Gay, Straight, Democrat, Republican, Christian, Jew, Agnostic, Black, White, Asian, Vaxxers, Non-Vaxxers, Single, Married..... We never had much conversation about politics or religion our first couple of decades. We were too busy talking about our common interests and enjoying each other's company. BUT somehow, when Trump started calling out the stupidity of "Political Correctness" being forced down the throats of ALL Americans, even those of us who did NOT agree... suddenly the most liberal democrat in our group started getting contentious and accusational towards us conservatives. When we tried to calmly state why we supported Trump, we were SHOUTED DOWN, so we shut up, just stopped talking. And when Trump was ELECTED - our dem ladies were SHOCKED. They were surprised because they didn't realize how popular Trump really was; and they didn't know because they refused to allow us to speak, so we just quietly went to the polls. And when a few of us refused to take the jab - we were demonized. For the first time EVER, in 30 years as very close friends, the lib/vaxxers had their own separate gathering without the other half of us. (Which had been planned over MY Birthday, ironically.) Suddenly there was NO compromise, NO respect for our right to have our own opinions. It was really sad. After the dems stole the 2020 election, our lib girls calmed down a bit, and we conservatives have refrained from mentioning politics with them even when our lib girl makes her Trump digs; we just let it go... But suffice it to say, the ONLY harassment we conservatives have gotten is from the "DEI Dems"; yet we Conservatives have always shown complete respect to our liberal friends' right to their opinions and beliefs.
