I always enjoyed your RDO testing videos from a few years ago so I am glad to see new videos! When CTA was released, I took advantage of trying out all the repeaters. The Evans repeater, in particular, was disappointing because although it sounds good and looks good with the Winter variant, it's terrible for shooting enemies that are far away. The Lancaster is my number one PvE weapon, but I personally never use it in PvP.
Am still waiting for rockstar to fix the animations in RDO. For an example grabbing you’re gun from YOURE back or fix the revolver going through the holster
I keep a Litchfield loaded with e-rounds for Trader sells along with a tank SNS build. Otherwise it's PIB + Lancaster for me, but the Evans is also just as good going for head shots. Didn't know about the reduced lock on range with Evans. Thanks Cat!
Lancaster is good for pvp and pve. But Evans is pretty good in a call to arms which are mainly in towns. because it is a crowd clearing gun depending if u know how to headshot.
Hey Cat, I totally agree that Lancaster is the best, one thing you didn't mention was that you can attach a scope to it. I believe that a scoped Lancaster is one of the strongest weapons in the PVE meta. The ability to toggle between long distance scoped shots and Paint It Black headshots on unscoped mode is extremely overpowered. I still prefer to carry the Carcano due to the benefits in PVP, but for anyone PVE only I think the scoped Lancaster wins it.
Good video for performance freaks. Despite this, I still clutch my Litchfield because I like how it looks and sounds, compared to Lancaster. In a game we all know to not receive further updates and contents, it's about self satisfaction, not performance. I really would like a descoped Rolling Block for fun.
Maybe I'm not skilled enough to appreciate the subtle differences in these weapons. But no repeater seems to have an advantage to me except the evans, I have never had a problem with reload speed. There always seems to be a lull in the fight that allows for reload then I can usually deal with another 20 or so enemies.
I read from somewhere that switching to free-aim eliminates the headshot damage thing to a straight up headshot kill with pib but now you no longer have lock-on.
Funny thing I watched a History Channel show on old west rifles and they mentioned the Lancaster as one of the go to rifles, so when my friend found it in game I told him to equip it, that gun has NEVER left his character's saddle.
God, when will rockstar add content to Red Dead Online. I really want to buy a house for myself, or go to Guarma, or organize a conditional Rashkovsky escape from Sisiki prison....
I like the Litchfield with regular ammo and winning streak especially when im tired and don't want to headshot just 2 body shots to npcs. Just shoot a little slower so the bloom gets small enough to hit body.
Whenever I try a repeater I can’t get over the movement bloom. Gunslingers choice has spoiled me. Also the weapon sway when you’re shot seems more severe too. I use a bolt action or carcano for longer ranges. At those ranges I’m usually not strafing around or getting hit and I get some extra range. Even if i was a shotgun user I think I’d still use a sniper for the longer ranges. I never remove imp bow. Things a Swiss Army knife.
Love the Lancaster, but I had a Litchfield build that on horseback iirc I could one shot weaker enemies with a gut shot using the Litchfield. Scoped I could kill most with one shot, mounted or not. Treated it like a cost effective Carcano when I didn’t wanna use my Carcano.
For controller I would recomend lancaster without a second thought but I have recently started playing RDO on PC and I think that the evans repeater gives people who are not good with free aim a better experience as they will have more bullets to shoot and can just dump a couple shots into about 7 or 8 enemies without reloading, but i'm new to keyboard and mouse so what do I know. Lancaster is still probably the best on PC but hey, I like the evans on PC what can I say.
i mostly use a scope because the accuracy on the weapons is a joke. i always liked how the weapons were in red dead redemption 1, they were mostly the same in damage and range so you dint feel left out. you dint feel like you needed to use the bolt action because it would be stronger than the windchester repeater, simply they were almost the same on enemies. the bloom may be ok for auto aimers but when your a free aimer and your moving sideways the bloom spreads and its like why is that even a thing, does rockstar expect people to sit still like a tree to get a headshot? well jokes on them because deadeye breaks the game so everyones just going to chug potent snake oil and use painted in blacks ability to get a aimbot headshot in 2 seconds flat.
Here is one build I made were Litchfield was better, but the build it's has its challenges. S&S, SS, Fool me Once, iron lung or Strange Medicine. I play on M&K and with this build you use Litchfield in scope only. 1v1 it is very strong, but with multiple enemies it is challenging do to the loss of the mini map. Trying to hit first person controller players can also be annoying. You can easily switch it over to a SB setup.
These repeater tests never take into consideration scope aim which is actually a pretty big game changer in how repeaters handle, but overall, I will say anecdotally, Lancaster still comes up on top when you use it with a scope. Litchfield is still garbage and horrifically inaccurate with a scope though. This is for PvE though. Me personally? I use the carbine repeater with the rapid fire exploit, it works really well because the reload time is fast even at low weapon condition. Also, fun fact for you, but in terms of damage, from strongest to weakest, is the Litchfield, Carbine Repeater, Lancaster, and Evans Repeater. Believe it or not, the carbine repeater actually is the second strongest repeater, but only against NPCs. Try it. Shoot an Alligator in the tail with every repeater and you'll see it takes fewer shots to kill with the strongest repeaters than the weakest ones. If you plan on doing PvE and you actually want a higher damage per shot for your repeater, but don't want to use an inaccurate gun like the Litchfield, try the carbine repeater.
I love the Litchfield in story mode and I am so tempted to get it in online (I already have the lancaster) but I hear that it sucks. This confuses me as it is fantastic in story.
The Litchfield does suck in online, it's accuracy is terrible. It's a gun that needs paint it black or your going to be aiming at a enemy pull the trigger and somehow hit your neighbors dog.
It's actually my favorite repeater, because it's the only one that actually requires skill to shoot. I don't really get satisfaction from shooting with other repeaters. It does suck in PVP, but imo it's very nice if you want to spice some things up in PVE
Is it wrong I'm still using the Carbine Repeater ? Also Cat can you make a vid showcasing all the outfits from the outlaw passes? Both from the back and front if possible. With that being said, have a great day ahead!
@@PVPCat 100% agree, I just got accustomed to the quick single reload of carbine. Also I know this is not requesting time but aside the outlaw outfits/outfits that you no longer can obtain in the game vid showcase idea, can you make one for the special emotes that are no longer obtainable? I recall in one of your vids your character was playing an air instrument and I looked high and low for other vids showcasing the emotes no longer available for the rest of us to no avail. Apologies for the spam of requests and may rockstar realize their folly and come back to this great game.
Cat, I would like to see a game like the Oregon trail from the early nineties. Could you use your influence to start a whisper campaign for its creation?
I actualy use the linchfield because for me it have best shooting sound and can kill npcs with 2 body shots consistenly, sometimes it takes 3 body shots with any other repeater, I play without aim assist on controler so in my experience I find it pretty fun
This month it would be collector but you're running out of time. Also, play some CTA or legendary bounties and free aim for xtra XP. Don't forget about your dailies.
My Playstyle involves dynamiting and toxic moonshining the place then rushing in with an evans- moral of the story is that evans is good for some but not all
i think its false to say bodyshots with litchfield is no factor in pvp.. when u go with three damage cards, pc lp ws, + express , you can be a menace in pvp, cause most players run with 1 damage reduction card nwo anyway
i like how the comments are full of people who choose not to play the game anymore. and are mad at the fact others still enjoy it. rockstar gave up on it, why get mad at the gamers 😂 grow up
Why dont you put a scope on your repeaters? I understand it improves you accuracy or range, I don’t remember now. I’m sure it improves one of your stats tho.
@@9999prozac evans is good when fighting multiple people, Lancaster is good at fighting people in general, Litchfield is good if you are target shooting or going against a lower level, same with carbine
@@GamblingAdvocate Maybe you shouldn't spend your time arguing with a stranger on the internet over basically nothing. I have many games that are in fact more "challenging" than red dead, doesn't mean I shouldn't be playing the game, also doesn't mean that I shouldn't be wanting to get pleasure while shooting in a game with guns (which is why I like the Litchfield) It doesn't "taste like testosterone", it tastes like an insecure 13 year old that likes to argue over nothing. End of conversation
If only you could find another game to put your energy into. Because you make such great content but this game is completely dead for like 3 years now.
All the repeaters are garbage without PIB. I only sign on to RDO now to do shootout series and have used the Litchfield, Carbine and Lancaster and I honestly get the same results with each gun.
Nah man, Lancaster with Split point ammo. Infact just about any gun with split point ammo is great without PiB. I run dualwield Cattlemans with split point ammo and they are like lasers
Litchfield fans, assemble!!!! We can not let this tyrrany rule! And btw, u'r so wrong about its damage on NPC. Most of the times it takes a bullet in a leg to bring a bull down. Dont know what ability cards you'r using, but it does take a single shot. And lancaster is too overrated. It sounds, looks and feels ten times worse than Mr. Litchfield.
Nah idk from 160 to about 210 I used the Litchfield and my stats dropped off like crazy , by that I mean my accuracy etc with deadeye or not the guns highly inaccuracte and the reload times horrible but it looks cool
@@sl1mreapa398 that's what, bloom shrinking time is quite high in litchfield which doesn't seem too much on papers, however; when you use them in game, you realise just how perfect out yellow boy is..... Lancaster is just so better when it comes to responsive.... You can feel it when you take 10 rapid headshots in a row in CTA, without using deadeye....
@@rijulchhabra1725 oh yeah I know in cta with my Lancaster I think my most kills was 320 with trying the Litchfield I died like round 4 due to the reload and inaccuracy I had to waste extra bullets
@@sl1mreapa398 that's what my man!!! Stats doesn't paint the full picture anyway. you can only try and fail and try and learn and try and succeed.....Iykyk.....
