Good tips..Yeah, I would get food in town or hiker boxes too. The other one's too complicated for me hahaha

If you have extra gear or supplies, put it in the hiker box and "pay it forward"

Really well done video! I'm planning on doing the PCT SOBO in 2026 when I retire so this is good information. When I first learned about the PCT around 1978 and got guide books and information, the resupply mailing method was the one most people recommended. I always thought this was a bad option because it forces you to pick your food choices in advance and your tastes may change. I'm planning on buying food in towns along the way. Looking at hiker boxes is good too because I'm not a picky eater. My biggest concern isn't food but water since going SOBO means I'll be in southern California after summer when many natural water sources will be dried up. I understand that these days a lot of trail angels have created water caches so this isn't as much of a problem.
