I should have mentioned that you can also get tons of papyrus by gifting bananas to the Monkey Queen; as long as you don't learn the blueprints she'll keep gifting them and you can erase them at a cartography table. In theory 22 banana gifts should be enough papyrus for a bookcase and all 20 books!
The best part is that when Wilson update drops it will also have potential to be a flint/marble farm (marble production would be low tho, and we don't talk about moon stone xd)
Jazzy's the best content creator for this game to learn from full stop. Shame I have to scroll past beard videos to get to them though, considering how that dude's treated artists.
To get the seeds for the book, I’d recommend changing to wurt and giving tons of fish to merm king. If you already have a ton of merms set up, you can just start a fight between them for free fish. Also wurt is good for breaking the fruit, although just using gunpowder makes life so easy.
400+ cobblestones per session, awesome! Jazzy thank you so much for keep making these guides, even though I don't play the game anymore (will come back in the future once I sort out the chronic wrist pain problem), I'm still very excited to see new DST videos from you!
A bit new player, few hrs in. Love the guides, I'll start from the basics mostly hehe. Information overload at my 1st game (many deaths too lol). My 1st char is Warly, learned he's a bit complicated too from the hunger and exceptions in food etc. Gonna check your other vids if have some guides for him, cheers! 💪🍻
Hey Jazzy, you should do a guide on the dragonfruit farm with Wicker and Maxwell. With 4 stacks of seeds you can get a full bundle of dragonfruit. Paired with the twig farm, you can get as much dragonpie as you need. My current Maxwell’s food source is a full bundle of dragonpie. Best source of food and healing in my opinion!
Cheap alternative to Gunpowder is Slurtle slime, though it will only break... wait what... I just tested this and it breaks the whole stacks. I always thought slurtle slime was weaker than gunpowder, did they update it?
Is this a better method than using just wicker and lure plants? I usually do the same thing on lunar island but with lure plants and I think other than not being able to do that in winter, it saves a lot of time switching characters
And I think what the lure plants digest don’t really matter much. Even if it takes an entire day, based on how fast they digest, you lose about 48 stone fruits(with two lureplants in the middle), out of 3000, should be pretty negligible
On second thought, since lure plants on have an inventory space of 15 stacks each, you can only do 30 stacks (with 2), which is only 1200 instead of 3000 so I guess this is better
@Puppet There's still the difference is that you need wicker no matter what, switching to Maxwell is the extra step. But I guess that's from the perspective of if you play one of these two as your main, since Maxwell has some more noticeable downside if you're playing him all the time.
You don’t need to switch characters every time you run farm. Wicker is not required after construction. If you don’t play as Maxwell then yes you would switch to him, but that would be the same cost as switching to a book reader to use the lureplant.
Previously it could only farm stacks of 10 stone fruit, but I think Klei changed that a while back to reduce server lag that comes from opening a large amount of them. You can see what happens on Thrill of the Grill when Jazzy died from blowing them up previously
You can play as Maxwell and don’t need to switch to run the farm. Only switch to Wilson if you want flint. It’s all optional so I don’t consider it an upkeep.
