I've been binging roller skate content for literally the last week straight, all day, because I am so excited to get some. Economically things are really tough right now for everyone and it would be an absolute joy to finally get some skates
Diandra Diamond I’m absolutely at the same page as you are 😂 no money but WiFi galore so I’ll just watch videos and tutorials while that doesn’t change
Lol I thought I was the only one going skate crazy! Haha I just ordered my first pair of Moxi Beach bunny. I couldn't decided between Impala or Moxi..and there wasn't enough videos about reviews.
And no, I’m not being paid to say any of that I just have been doing plenty research to say PRS is the right spot to get info on moxis and all things roller skates 🥰
Queer Girl Straight Skates skating inside my house, skating in the street, cooking and hitting the nature trails when the weather is nice. I don’t like to sit around much.
Just got mine a couple of days ago and I LOVE them! At first, I couldn’t balance myself for anything until I realized that I had to adjust the wheels and the trucks. (Tight trucks keeps your feet stiff and straight. Looser trucks help you turn and bend gracefully.) Now I have soooo much control. I instantly felt more comfortable and no longer looked like a complete newb. 🗣ALWAYS ADJUST YOUR WHEELS AND TRUCKS BEFORE SKATING! IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE!
Okay, I’m a size 8.5/ 9 and had these in my cart in a size 8. I’m glad I saw this. Now I’m thinking size 7. Glad I saw this. I was torn based on the sizing guide on their site.
I am the exact same foot size and I bought my lolly's in size 7. I also have another pair of skates in size 7 and I do think its the correct choice for our feet size. Hope this helps!
@@winniexox6598 Thanks WinnieXOX, definitely a good tip! I actually just got my skates in the mail on Tuesday and they fit perfectly. I think it's because I measured my foot length in inches and compared it to the chart. Thank you anxiety for making me measure a million times before I purchased my skates lol So for anyone who may be reading this comment for their own reference, trace your foot while standing on a piece of paper (against a wall) and measure it. My foot ended up being almost exactly 10 inches, so the size 8 was a better fit for me personally because I wasn't ordering a custom half size.
I’m so buying these and suede toe covers for myself and my daughter next week! I can’t wait! We have the Rainbow Riders I have yellow and she has black. We love them! Can’t wait to try to Lolly
This may sound weird but I LOVED the zoom at 5:15/20... great image quality, I can see the details of the skate really well, the color, even the cushings and outfit check 😂 ... just lovely frame, you should do that more often, Shove 😍👏🏼
Even through the bushfires and covid 19 restrictions, am still excited for these vids. I mean here we can't go outside with more than one person but if I had skates I guess that wouldn't matter.
I found some skates on Facebook market place for 150 got them to mark it down to 110 they are made out of suede leather and I’m so fricking excited, getting them tomorrow!
I got impalas in December and I'm wearing them more then I'm not, and the boot started to separate from the heel. This is happening to my friends too, and no amount of gluing has helped, so I decided to invest and get clementine moxis today. I just sprained my wrist at the rink, but hopefully I will be better by the time they arrive!! My aunt is into roller derby so she's gonna help me modify them a lil.

OMG! That is ALMOST the exact same set-up I was considering! Taffy boot, Honeydew wheels, neon green laces....though, I would go for a green stop as well. I have a serious thing for green and purple. :) BUT....I'm trying to get away from that, so I also thought of going with the Classic Black Lolly, Cherry Stain wheels, red laces, and red stops (no white...too many, including one of my girls, have the black, red, *and* white theme on theirs). Third Option - Pool Blue with the red "details" just for something a bit more unique. UGH! So many choices, I still can't decide.....LOL I just have a sinking feeling I'd be a size 4. Stupid tiny feet. Normally a women's 6 tennis shoe...though sometimes a child's 4. Hence why I haven't quite made that leap yet....have to figure out my size first!! LOL
@@idontreallycareataxe All skates are in men's sizes, except some name brand imports. Problem is, for most skates, women only go down (or, sometimes, up) one. With the Moxi, they say to go down 1 1/2 to 2 from your normal shoe size...since I can wear a child's 4 up to a men's 7, there's quite a range that will fit me, depending on the specific cut of the boot. My skates currently range from a 5 up to a 7 - and they all fit perfectly. SIZE 5 Plain Black Sure-Grip GT-50 Sure-Grip Rebel Roller Derby Stomp SIZE 6 Sure-Grip Prism Candi Girl VNLA Code Red SIZE 7 Riedell Ombre Sure-Grip GT-50 Glitter Heartthrob Well, plus my 2 shoe builds...one is a size 7, my other is a size 4 from the kid's section of a resale shop. PLUS I can wear... My middle child's VNLA Royalty - size 7. My youngest daughter's VNLA (but she got the Code Blue in the same size as me - 6), My youngest daughter's Epic Nitro Elite (the rainbow ones) in a size 5. There are only 8 pairs of skates in the house I can't wear. LOL
I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and planet roller skate to be informed on skating. I recently figured out my size through planet roller skate customer service and hope to get my first pair of skates soon!! Very excited to start practicing inside 😁
OH MY GOSH I WISH I ENTERED BEFORE IT FINISHED!!! Better luck next time thooo Ive been dying for floss lollys I havnt been able to raise up the money to buy them and they are GORGEOUS!!!😍😍😢💙💙💙
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMPARING THEM TO VANS SIZES!!!! I only wear shoes like Van's and strayes and they're a bit more narrow than most shoes, so having someone compare them to a show I KNOW my size in helps so much!!!!
Moxie are great for sure ! One brand I feel doesn’t get enough coverage for beginners is VNLA . They have great ankle support , good padding and have lots of options ! Just sharing in case someone is researching options . I love my new Luna indoors. Plus their parfait and a La modes are comparable and more comfy than boardwalks and beach bunnies
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ thank you for sharing with us now I think I am a little closer to picking my very own skates. You both look so light on those skates. You just glide so easy.
My dang feet are too small!! My derby skates (reidell blue streaks) are 2.5 and I stretched them a bit to fit me better. So I need a size 3 rec skates 😭😭😭
Oh my gosh I am dying to get a pair of Moxi Lollies. One day I’ll grow up and be like you! Getting my first pair for my birthday in 6 days!!!! Moxi Lolly are on my wishlist!
Thanks for the video! Update: Moxie Lolly’s have gone up $50 in price and no longer let you select your wheel unless you choose the customize option which is even more expensive. 😔
I preordered moxi beach bunnies 🐰 because they are $100 cheaper and still great roller skates. Thanks for the vid because maybe in a few years I’ll have more money to get lollys
I really want a pair of skates, my birthday is coming up and I asked for a pair of beach bunny’s cause the lolly is wayy to expensive. I’m super excited though and hope I get them! I love your videos!
I've seen some people online saying that the Lolly's nylon plate isn't that great for plus size people over like 200 lbs (bends, could break, not comfortable or supportive, things like that) and that a metal plate is better. Is this a thing? As a plus-size beginner skater I'm having a hard time trying to settle on what skate to get, and am worried if my size will play a factor.
Since Nylon is a plastic it could break... but It is durable.. I've never heard of it breaking before tho . If you are worried about this happening I recommend buying a metal plate. But before you do so there is a plus sized woman in the moxi girl team and id look at her skates and see what she uses. Good luck!
Please tell me I’m not weird I had a dream about owing moxi skates last night even in my dream they were magical (Update I got them and they are just as magical as they were in my dream AHHHH)
Me too! Lol. I feel like a kid again...waiting on my lollys and I just ordered them today. Lol. I need to sit down some where and give it 8 weeks. Hehe
Did I need new derby skates?? No. Do I need these beautiful skates that I'm seeing everywhere and my entire team has to rec skate together? Also no. ... my Lollys are scheduled to arrive Friday. I hate it here. Someone let us out of quarantine before I buy new hockey skates, too!! 😭😭💸💸💸
The Lolly's don't look supportive to me tho. They look quite thin around the ankle compared to the beach bunnies which look sturdier but is cheaper? The ankle looks like it's just fabric on the Lolly's.
My size in euro is 39 but I have very wide feet, so should I go for one size bigger or should it stay the same 39/40 size from the scale. My size is 8 from the scale of all sizes, but taking into mind that my leg needs 39.5 in order to feel comfortable in other type of skating shoes should I go for number 9?
Hi there! Thanks so much for your review. I found it most helpful. Love your look btw. So far, I have my heart set of getting my first pair of Moxi Lolly skates. My regular shoe size is 8-8.5, so I'm assuming I'll need a 6-5. I'm not looking to do roller derby or anything at a skate park. Just a gal who wants to skate around the neighborhood. But I don't want just any pair, or a cheap pair, especially because I have a left ankle problem and shin-splint concerns. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks so much!
Hi! I was just wondering what skate I should get the moxi Lolly’s or the Moxi jack boot. I’m not really a hardcore skater like going to the skate parks I just like mostly riding around my neighborhood right now. Right now I’m in impalas and I want to upgrade my skating experience. So I don’t know if I need the ankle support for neighborhood skating or like indoor skating. Thank you and your video was amazing!
I want to buy a pair tonight but can’t find anyone to help me figure out what size I need. I hear you need to go down a size but what if I’m size 9.5 in sneakers. Do I go size 9 or size 8?
ahhhhhh i am so excited for when i can get lollies!! does anyone have any colour suggestions? i am very torn between the poppy ones and the pineapple ones!
hey! i got a pair of sure grip malibu skates, and was wondering if you can do a review on them? I cant find any reviews online about them. I'm a beginner and would love to know what you think about them! i couldn't find any moxie lollies or anything in any skateshops near me :(
Hey! so many questions! lol I haven't had moxi skates before and There isnt any place for me to try them on here in Canada. I have wide feet and I was going to order some new skates. I want black skates and I can't decide between the lolly or the panther. I like the panther because of the leopard but I'm worried that the stiff boot won't work well with my wide feet. I'm also coming off an ankle break so was worried that the Lolly won't have enough ankle support. Anyway, how do you think the Lolly/panther boot would be on wide feet and the ankle support?
I just got a brand new pair of lollies. Is it normal to hear the structures part of boot crackling a little when twist your foot around in the boot? It sounds like an adhesive inside the boot unsticking and I'm not sure if I got a defective pair :(
@@leemarryann2982 dang that sucks. Lol well, at least you know theyre on the way. How long did your pre order take before the wring address? I just ordered mines and im stoked! I really hope they come sooner than 8-10 weeks. Glad you're getting your lollys😁
No the gummy wheels are softer in order to ride on difficult surfaces If you use outdoor wheels in the rink the wheels will grip on to the surface making it harder to skate If you want to skate indoors i recommend getting a hybrid wheel because you can skate indoors and outdoors with those Or you can buy regular indoor wheels
Would you recommend these lolly’s for dance ? And if so do you need a different plate , toe stopper, and wheels ? Also what is the difference between the indoor and outdoor complete ? I won’t be doing Ramps and I don’t skate aggressively. Just want pretty spins transitions, and she indoor and outdoor and of course dance. If I’m a 7 would a 6 be ok I’m in Florida and no way to try them on . Stores are closed to try vans for sizes .
Yes! Any skate with a heel is good for dance. No you do not really need to change anything about the lolly besides the toe stop and wheels. Now wheels do matter i recommend a hybrid wheel so you don't have to worry about changing your wheels according to surfaces. Indoor set comes with indoor wheels outdoor set comes with outdoor wheels. And yes wheels are super important if you don't have the right wheels itll mess up the whole experience. Also if you are a size 7 in womens get a 6.
The Moxi Lolly have practically no insoles. They are also narrow. I'm 51 just started roller skating ⛸️ 🛼, l have Rollerbladed in my 20s. Price went up $50. Now they are $369 plus tax an shipping 🚢 on Amazon.
I have a question (to anyone who might see this) I got moxi lollys today and when i roll them they both veer off to the left A LOT. Like more than my impalas which I kind of expect it with. Is this always down to the plates being off? I’m guessing I should return these skates? Sorry I’m pretty new to skating but I feel like defective lollys are unheard of and idk if I’m doing something wrong :/ like I can’t even skate in them without my left foot being pulled to the left
What’s the ankle support like? I’m a figure skater looking to get into roller skating while my rink is closed and am used to a very stiff boot. I’m worried vegan leather will break down too quickly and suede wont have the support I’m used to so I have no idea what boot to get. Someone help me pls 😭
Sorry to tell you but there is not much ankle support in the lolly If you want something with ankle support I would recommend the beach bunny or Jack boot However the lolly boot is super comfortable and totally worth it
Yes I recommend it. If you have a little spending cash try the fp insoles. Other insoles will work too. Currently moxi has partnered with fp to create roller skating insoles. Keep in mind the moxi insoles are a bit pricey but they are worth the money.
