A few years ago, the last time I stayed at Disney World, we stayed at the Grand Floridian. The balcony view wasn't the best, but the fact that I could see even a glimpse of Space Mountain from our balcony made my day, everyday. Some people may think this doesn't matter, but I think for many this can really enhance a stay at these already beautiful hotels.

August 2019, we stayed at the Contemporary in a water view roomEvery night, the Electrical Water Pageant passed by our room & we could hear the music! If I could turn back time!

At Saratoga Springs, you may want to pay a little extra for a "Preferred Room". That will work better than a request. When we did so we ended up in Congress Park in THE closest room to Disney Springs.

I was actually a bus driver for Disney. And yes the resorts do have a certain way they go to pick up guest. They don’t just go to which ever stop they want to even if a stop is empty. This is to your comment at around 7:40-7:55 in video!

my parents are dvc members and animal kingdom lodge is their home resort so we stay there a lot. personally i think all star resorts have some of the best rooms for families though. we stayed at all star music on our first trip in a family suite so my parents had their own room and bathroom while my sister and i slept in the “living room” area with our own bathroom. it was really great to have 2 bathrooms and we were able to get ready way faster than when we stay in the nicer hotels.

I have noticed that no one talks about Fort Wilderness (The place with cabins & camping) it’s actually very fun, you can rent golf carts with your cabin, or you can go camping. It doesn’t have any issues with transportation either. In a cabin, there are two bedrooms. One for kids with a bunk bed, and one for adults with a queen or king bed. In the middle of those rooms it has a mini living room with a mini kitchen. (Yes there are bathrooms too) The couch in the mini living room is actually a pull out couch too. So if you think about it, the cabins are bigger then a hotel room.

You should try Pop century there rooms are far better than any of the All-Star resorts And the access to the gondola is worth it alone!

I dunno... ...we stayed there once, and it was our first experience with a value resort, and I was EXTREMELY disappointed! I’ve stayed at a Motel 6 that was nicer! Thank goodness they’re finally getting renovated. Despite how powerful the toilet flushes sounded, could not flush paper, unless it was thrown directly over the hole. Water pressure seemed impressive, as the shower definitely felt more pleasurable than back home. So I can only assume the toilet problem was by flawed design. The shower and faucet dripped water longer than it should, and you had to aggressively attack the dial, otherwise it would drip all night. The stained grout didn't really bother me, but the missing grout did. What cultures could be evolving beyond the tile was unknown to me. The blow dryer also did not work. I had to try a series of gfci resets and tests on both the outlet and the device to finally get it working. It would only blow on low because the switch was broken. The humidity had caused the painted textured bathroom wall to peel up, exposing what I can only assume was the original 90s wallpaper. But they somehow managed to get a large amount paint on the bathroom light. From 6-10:15pm there were NO Disney cartoons on TV, just dead air. So basically, coming back from the parks, there was no more Disney to enjoy as we wind down. The dead air was puzzling, as the channel worked in the morning and late evening. The tech guy they sent was able to confirm that others in our building had the same issue, and apparently the CMs in the lobby didn't even notice that during that time, their TV, which stays on that channel all day, was dead air. A quiet All Star lobby just seemed eerie to me. We later realized that during that time, they broadcast a program block that not only includes the new Mickey cartoons, but one involving Duffy. We notified them so they could pass along the info that it's the stupid Duffy bear that's ruining it (don't quite care for his attendance at the parks either.) But since I'm on the subject of the TV, one night I came back and the TV wouldn't even turn on! I thought it was the remote, like maybe the battery was bad, but pressing the button directly on the TV didn't do anything either. The furniture was too heavy to move, so I couldn't unplug it from the wall, but luckily I was able to unplug it from the set itself. Once I plugged it back in, it worked. Since they sent out a tech to investigate channel 17s dead air, I told him of my problem with turning on the TV, and having to unplug it. He told me that it was common, and occasionally needs to be reset. I just thought, how many guests would know to do all this to get both the TV and the hair dryer to work? Had it not been for the channel, he would've been called out on two different days to turn on a simple TV or hair dryer. And those guests probably would've been pretty rude, as if it were his fault.

Stayed in the 60s section at POP for the marathon this past January. Our room only took about 2 mins to walk to skyliner and maybe 3-4 minutes to walk to the lobby, food court and shops. Perfect place.

Every once in a while, I get a surprise when I check in: AKL twice gave me partial Savannah views; at one visit, an okapi came by each day! I once got an accessible room, although I didn't request one. I loved that shower without the tub! At SS, my last visit had me in a room with a fantastic view of the Springs. Occasionally, I make a request, but, even when I don't, Disney = serendipity!

I like the accessable room options. I really hate a shower over the bath. Grew up with it and NEVER had a house that had that option as an adult. When I started looking at Disney hotels they are nearly all over the tub :(

We stayed at AK lodge in December for an anniversary/birthday trip and booked a standard room. We used your tip for requesting an obstructed view room and got a Savannah view! It wasn't the best view I'm sure, but it was still wonderful. My husband agrees that waking up to the animals was the most memorable part of our trip. Thank you!!!!!

A.J. your great with your reviews. We have stayed at the Boardwalk Inn across the lake from Yaught club and that was great also .could watch lake, boardwalk and night time fireworks from our balcony. We had the special club package and we snacked at night then watched epcot fireworks too. A real nice place.

Stayed at the French Quarter. Had a gorgeous view of the river. So many transportation options, take the ferries, take the bus, whatever makes you happy It was wonderful.

My family and I stayed at Art of Animation and really enjoyed it. The aesthetic of everything was gorgeous and thought it was really cool to walk through the different areas. We had no clue how far back the Little Mermaid area was from the lobby, and of course with my sisters and I being Princess obsessed we requested the rooms.

Coronado springs is always a top option for me. I find that really long walk to the lobby from Ranchos in the morning to be great to get a feel for the weather for the day, remember anything that has been forgotten, filling up mugs and getting breakfast treats, and trading pins in the gift shop. I also find that even though there is no science to it, the first bus stop is the most reliable because someone can call and request a bus to get one dispatched, whereas you’re on your own at the other stops. Also that extra five minute walk from the pools always for a little bit of a drip dry before returning to your room. The bus stops at the end of the day are close enough that you don’t feel you’re walking a mile. Really great all around if you don’t have kids because it’s super quiet back there. I went every year of construction on the tower and though it’s over nowhere was still nice to be a good distance away from louder things, like the pool, at night.

It wasn't mentioned in the video but when my family stayed at the Port Orleans a few years back we requested a pool view room and when we got to our room, no pool view. We called and asked and they said open your door walk down the hall and there is the pool. WHAT? I went to the front desk and reminded them we made the reservation 6 months ago, why so far away? They finally, after talking to 3 different people, told me the secret. Disney assigns many of the rooms on a first come first served style. Since we checked in after 3pm we got the last "pool view" room. So the first person that morning got the best room even if they just made their reservation yesterday. Unbelievable right? Takes the wind out of your sails to go to the trouble of reserving and paying 6 months out to get the worst room. After raising a little rutcuss they said they would move me the next morning to a room NEXT to the pool. They did and we were fine. But, beware, that's the facts...get there early if you want your requests met.

I went to Disney World with my high school band before it closed (we are the last marching band to have marched through Disney as of rn lol) and we always stay at the All-Star Music resort and I saw them doing the renovations but believe me, I hope they take the time to replace the air filters in their AC and ventilation systems cause I was sneezing a storm up in that hotel room!! Every time the ac or heat turned on it smelled like a the whole thing was about to catch on fire!

The royal rooms at riverside are also pretty close to the lobby and main pool. Much closer than the alligator bayou rooms. We loved staying in the royal rooms. Such a beautiful resort. So peaceful.

I once had a "woods" view at Wilderness lodge that looked at a 2' wide strip of trees that was between two walkways.

When my family went to WDW in Dec last year we were able to snag room 5502 at the Art of animation I think only 4 rooms where closer to the Skyliner. It was closer to the skyliner than the registration. It was a bit of a tight fit but we managed to get 6 people in the room (with 2 ecvs) 1 being a child that we had to request a cot for because no one wanted to sleep with them. Thank you for all your videos, with them I was able to help the family plan how to spread out and we usually tried to end each day in the parks at either HS or Epcot so we could take advantage of the skyliner. One video I have not seen and it might have been helpful is how exactly the Dining plans work and how to check out with them, that was a bit of learning experience as I hadn't been to WDW in 20 years.

I was lucky and literally had a room off the lobby with Savanna room at AK. Saw the animals all the time. It was a room with the bunk beds. One of the best times at DW. I would say my favorite is probably Polynesian Resort with a close second being The Gran Destino Tower. I have also stayed at the Riverside, Saratoga and Yacht Club. 🤗

Contemporary Gardens are being renovated. They are one of the wings on the water, and it's a walk out across the beach to the round smaller pool. Very quiet and relaxing.

I went with my best friends in July 2019 and we got up grades to the family suite for free! It was so amazing and very magical for the one in our party who'd never been to Disney. It was definitely fantastic.

Ah Saratoga Springs. That was my family's home hotel when we first became members of the Disney Vacation Club in 2005. My parents are so tired of Saratoga Springs that during our last Disney trip in February we switched from Saratoga to Riviera so quick. XD (Might take a bit before we're able to stay there tho, with how popular it is right now. (We're planning to stay at Beach club for our August trip. We were able to get a room there after being on the wait list.)

We usually stay at animal kingdom lodge and stayed in a Savannah view room once. Honestly, you see more animals taking a walk around the property. I was told the giraffes only come within view of our room during a certain time ( forget the exact time) but it was always when we were in the park lol. Once we stayed at the very end of the corridor and it was a nightmare dragging tired toddlers back after a long day at the parks. It was a really long hallway, and now I know to request something closer to the lobby. Live and learn. We LOVE akl though!!!

I would love to see a video about navigating trip planning for folks with disabilities- I'm restricted to a wheelchair and have a service dog which can complicate things endlessly. Advice or tips for WDW travels on wheels? WDL has been really good to me in the past!

I can say that the 5th floor at AKL is not too high, it’s pretty much perfect. You get an awesome birds eye view of the whole savanna.

We stayed at Coronado Springs a few months back, and actually there is a consistent system to the order in which buses serve the stops. Buses to the theme parks stop at Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas before then stopping at Gran Destino Tower - so if you’re in those ‘outposts’ you’re almost certain to get a seat on the way to the parks in the morning and you’re first to be dropped off heading home in the evening. For Disney Springs it’s the other way around. Also, whilst we were a bit bummed to be allocated a room in the furthest Ranchos block, it’s still only about an 8 minute walk to Gran Destino and the food court - not 15-20!

re Riviera - we stayed in the East wing on a high floor with a preferred view and had a PHENOMENAL view of the whole resort, HS, and the Epcot fireworks. If you want to see the Epcot fireworks from Riviera, get a preferred view on the East side. (I'll add that based on the pre-closing rates, I wouldn't suggest the Riviera without a great deal, we had the 40% off chase disney visa which made it worth it. The CMs were fantastic there though and the food (except for the mochas) was amazing)

The last time we visited we stayed in one of the pirate suites at carribbean beach and didn't find the walk to the lobby that bad. I can't say aboutthe walk to the skyliners as they opened the week after we left but the walk to the lobby was kind of a nice wind down. I'd imagine in the middle of summer it could be a really wretched stroll though.

I worked in transportation at Disney. There is a system for buses at Coronado and all big resorts.

One of the best rooms we've had at WDW was at the Dolphin. It was a 10th floor room, at the end of the inner sideways wing towards World Drive. This room had TWO Balconies!! One small "diving platform" balcony facing the outer wing. The other was 1/3 rd of the green structure at the end of the wing - it was HUGE!!! And covered!!! I spent a few nights relaxing out there just enjoying the panoramic views. Even saw fireworks reflecting off of the Swan!! This was in September 2000 and the room cost us $69.00 a night!!!!
