Seems only appropriate to give props to the early works of Jeff Martone with his 2 Vol. offerings of "H2H" or Hand 2 Hand Kettlebell drills which included a lot of these rotational movements. Thank You Mike for this well presented example !
Great movement. Maybe remind viewers to start with a reduced weight, and stop when form starts to become compromised...to prevent injury as this is a pretty dynamic movement pattern. Love the videos.
You did something I like no other kettlebell trainer does _ you told the viewer you were using a 12kg/ 26.4 lbs. / one guy I like uses " Gold kettlebell and every kettlebell in his arsenal is Gold _ with no markings _ for the novice they have no idea and then I found out about _ " training weight and Kettlebells " that weight zilch _ and these guys always have perfect form and never out of breathe _ I know these moves though because the guy I'm taking about " Zenkahuhuna " does them too_ and so do I _ I do a swing_ snatch _ high pull and then the figure 8 under the leg to the opposite hand _ with a 40 lb. Kettle bell _ no time for talking with that twice on each side _
@@sallywarner6023 thank-you very much for getting back to me. Also thank-you for your advice, I was torn between one of them or a core bag... decision made 👌
Excellent exercise! Stopping the fying kettlebell kills my wrist tho. Any tips on that? It seems like you are stopping the kettlebell at the bottom with your palms
Haha right on! You are super welcome, if there are other videos you'd to see please let me know, I'm going to be creating some new videos in the coming months
Hey, Mike. Thank you for amazing explanation. This video helped me to learn this amazing move! I am going to do it regularly. Thank you so much Good luck with everything!
Excellent!! saw your featured on other channels. Would love to see a full blown series on the fundamentals of kettlebell where you dive into the details of the basic movements.
Amazing information as usual. Since you mentioned Bulgarian bags I have a question regarding them. You’ve said that you use the 26lb bag 90% of the time. What size would you recommend the average/above average male to buy if they were going to purchase 2 bags?
Hi Mike, Are there any plans for a video on the Suples Speed Dummies? Is there a specific reason for choosing the stump model versus the one with legs?
You are so welcome Brian! Hell yeah, moving laterally and rotationally will definitely change the game! Keep it up and please keep me posted on your progress : )
I feel as if the kettle bell exercises hit all the muscles but I don't feel it in my calves and hamstrings. Quad some times. Do you have a good calve and hamstring exercise?
Mike I have had rota-tor cuff surgery 3 1/2 years ago. And have been using kettlebells for over 40 years. RKC Povel trained and was an instructor. I have not instructed in 8 years. I'm retired and just work out on my own in my own gym. I just love this video and will start putting it in my workout. Put even now after 3 years there are still some days my rota-tor cuff still is tender. I would like to start training with the Bulgarian Bag, I have never used one. What weight would you suggest I start with? At this time I am 70 year old but very fit. I can't do the 100 snatches in 5 min like I once was able to do to get certified but I can still get 60 maybe 65 on a good day. LOL Thank You Rick D.
Hi Jose! My training as of late during CoVid has been not on a dedicated schedule so it's been more about getting workouts in when I can and a break from work. That said, when I am most consistent with training times, meal times, etc., I normally train fasted since I like to train typically at 6/7am. Usually just an espresso shot with butter is my go to ; )
@@MikeSalemi Thanks Mike for the quick and detail response. just asking because i'm being a couple of months training fasted (between 13 to 16 hours) and wanted to know the opinion of a professional kettlebell coach like you on the matter and if had affected you performance. thanks in advance
excellent exercise Mike! you're an awesome teacher. Your slow swing clean video clicked everything for me. Thank you for your continued tutorials for us new to kettlebells!
I was doing these, and really enjoying them. I added an extra bit, kind of a shotput of the bell away, exaggerating the pass down through the legs. Maybe that extra bit was an issue, maybe not, I'm not sure, but after a day of doing around 15 reps every 60 or 90 minutes, I tweaked my back. I think it was just a pulled muscle, but it was enough to get me questioning my technique and the safety of this move. I might've also tried to go too much or too heavy, too soon.
This is great, gonna have to include this in my next session. Usually I rely on inside and outside rotational cleans, but this seems more inclusive of the posterior chain
I like very profesional, I'm Master Per sonal Trainer 25 years experipence and I not like put benefits in differents part the body and kill other. This routine possible broken your toes. Is important talk about this too. This only
