The BEST Rugby Commentary In The World | isiXhosa Commentary

I'm sure fans all over the world has heard isiXhosa rugby commentary by now, but I just had to make this video to showcase how blessed South Africa is to have our own isiXhosa commentary team. You don't have to understand a single word to appreciate how Lonwabo Mtimka and Kaya Malotana is able to bring rugby to life with they commentary. They have the ability to make any game sound like the final minutes of a World Cup final. I can only imagine how exciting it must sound to listen to their commentary over radio if it wasn't possible to watch a video broadcast.
The best part to me is how they're able to do it in an unbiased way, because you can just hear they love the game of rugby. If the away team scores they get equally as excited as when the Springboks do something. It's a joy to hear their commentary and they've already become legends in the South Africa and people can't wait to hear the isiXhosa team's commentary after games.
This video is where I compared their commentary of the Rugby Championship match of South Africa vs All Blacks against the commentary of the Argentina vs Australia game. Just to be clear, this is not a shot against the commentary team in that game because I feel they got a lot of unnecessary criticism and people don't realize they had to commentate in English which was not their 1st language, so a lot of blame should go on the higher ups who put them in that situation. With our isiXhosa commentary team you can see that it's their own language which they are comfortable with and it makes a huge difference

@@Tedkelvin Not really. The purpose of commentary is to describe the events of the match, and (sometimes) to provide a bit of analysis. The purpose of _advertising_ is to hype the match. The problem is that you find that these guys are actually creating their own jargon lol as a Xhosa person u must pay attention so that you know what each term means, lol it's sheer creativity then they add Xhosa poetry to the mix, then create their own nicknames for every player on the field. For example Kitchoff is Spicey Plum De Jager is Nozidlelana (Big Cheeks) Le Roux is Majaivana Kolisi is Truck ye Cementer (Cement truck) Fassie is The Weekend Special The list is long
