One of the most stunning scenic overlooks in New Mexico is from the south end of the Sacramento Mountains in the Lincoln National Forest, near Timberon, not far from Cloudcroft. From here I can see all the way to El Paso's Franklin Mountains, as well as Las Cruces, NM's Organ Mountains, and a portion of White Sands National Park.
Rim Trail No. 105 is here, as well as Forest Road 90. A memorial bench for Lt. Christopher “Bueller” Short, a US Navy Pilot who lost his life during a nearby training exercise, is here also. His fellow aviators speak about him here: www.holloman.a...
The fastest way to get to this best vista in New Mexico is to -
Take Hwy 130 from Cloudcroft and travel that until you intersect with
The highway to Sunspot (6563), where you will turn right.
Travel Sunspot highway until you see the sign for -
The highway to Timberon (which will be on your left, take it.)
After driving along the highway to Timberon for awhile, look for a bunch of mailboxes on your right, a few miles before entering Timberon.
When you see those mailboxes, make sure the road sign says Westside Drive.
Turn right onto Westside Drive and follow it about a mile or two until you reach this stunning scenic overlook.

When a church lady asked me to explain to her how I use my washing machine water to water my back yard plants, I filmed it and posted it for her and others to see. That was fun so I did more.
Besides recycling water, making natural fertilizer, and reviews of things I think need reviewing, some of these videos are about gardening or dealing with drought, while others answer someone's question or concern (such as a Next Door neighbor scared of bees, so I filmed myself with bees to help her not be so afraid of them, and a church lady horrified by wasps, so ditto).
Still other videos are ones I want people to know about - El Paso's deadly air pollution, and the beauty of Cloudcroft New Mexico.
