Thanks to one of your videos I drove down here for a putter....I came away with a full set of irons, some wedges and a putter. It's a proper Aladin's cave
I always enjoy when you make the trip to Golf Clubs For Cash (what an awesome store). It's interesting to see what other golfers pick out as their dream set. Really fun video to watch.
Thank you for taking time to do the comparison. the quality of the channel kislux is better, I bought it here, and you can ask them to take a photo for confirmation before shipping.
Actually making a Sunday bag at the moment specifically for a local course in my area thats strictly par 3 only super short. Here in San Diego. As expensive as it gets I’m glad I only need 3-4 clubs. P wedge, my 56 and 60 wedge and my putter. I could drop the 60, but trying to play with it more. The game definitely gets fun. But for this course i just want to pick up my bag and go instead of digging out of my regular golf bag. Cheers And yes you have to enjoy what your using
Neat video. Qi10 is a far better driver than the stealth 2, even the og stealth or sim series perform as well if not better. Could have saved the difference of getting a newport style putter for 100 less than the Scotty, with similar performance. All in all though really interesting to see a golf shop that specializes in pre-owned clubs and how you can put together a great bag for quite a bit less than buying the latest and greatest.
Strangely enough the Machspeed SQ driver and fairway were in the bag when I played my best golf..I think the stock shafts were a bit firmer than most R shafts I had been playing and suited me down to the ground, regardless of the noise
I have a set of Caley irons. The Pitching wedge is 43*. This means you almost have to have 3 wedges at least. I have 50, 54 and 58. My son has Cleveland launchers which are similar lofts and has 48, 52,56. Good call to research check the wedges. I bet your garage is a bit like that store. I keep offering to come down and help you clear some space for Billy's toys.
Some bad choices there, lads! The PXG 0311T irons are the “Tour” model, not at all forgiving. Also, that F5 flex shaft in the Stealth 2 3-wood is an Extra Stiff shaft.
2:53 James you are doing a mid handicapper a huge disservice not telling him to walk away from the $400 used putters when he is in a budget. A $400 pitter isnt going to show much if any improvement in a mid handicap golfers game
100% agree. A friend of mine bought a $20 blade style putter on eBay and went and got a couple putting lessons. He out-putts every single one of our golf partners who have $250+ putters.
Statistically speaking, you hit your putter 18 times a round at a minimum, 14 drives (2 par 3s per 9), wedge 10-14 times per round/mixed between Sand/gap/etc, so most of the money spent is wasted. Technically, you need 1 long club (not a driver) and 1 mid-range iron. The first thing you need to do is capture what clubs you currently hit in a couple of 18 hole rounds or 2X 9 hole rounds, so you can average what you hit and how often. I hate to see James searching for a club for every shot instead of teaching/learning how to use your clubs. Play golf, don't just swing a club. Sorry James, nothing against you... I love your videos.
Realistically you hit your putter 30 plus times so if you’re not comfortable with your putter your in trouble. Having said that I can be very comfortable with a cheap putter if it suits me so if i had a budget to buy secondhand clubs I would spend the most on the driver as they are the most expensive club and if you struggle off the tee its going to be a long day. I would save by using old irons and wedges and the cheapest putter that im comfortable with and spend the rest on the best driver I can get.
