THANK YOU SEWWW MUCH!!! (pun intended) I'm in the process of making an elven cloak from LotR, and the material being used is *QUITE* stretchy. Thanks to your tips, I've not had one negative incident and the seams look amazing! BTDubs, I'm a man, so none of y'all (other men) have any excuses in operating a sewing machine. ;)

Lomi, Thanks for taking the time and making the effort to make this video! I’m a beginning “sewist”/“sewer” (the latter having no relation to sewage I don’t believe, depending on how this project turns out) and am tackling a pair of knit, stretchy pajamas which need altering. I just recently subscribed. Great content. I started sewing again for my daughter. I am a novice. Having a terrible time trying to hem jersey pants. Using a walking foot, stretch needle, polyester thread. My machine is just eating the fabric!!

This is an aha moment on an issue I recently had on a pair of leggings I'm finishing up. At the very end, the thread kept getting lost in the tension disc and I had to rethread - additionally, I started getting these knots on my stitch line and a few skipped stitches I noticed too. I'm also going to change my needle although I change it with every project, perhaps this needle has enough of this thicker knit fabric - it feels like a fleece knit and it has 10% spandex. Thanks this is very helpful.

You gave great information on this subject and I appreciate that. The way you mentioned about your machine not being able to get attachments and its function, doesn't sound too exciting to have. I was going to buy a machine like yours years ago, until I found out what the name of it means.

Oh I actually love my Janome machines and wouldn't trade them just to have the ability to use universal feet. They sew knits for me beautifully without needing a knit foot. I'm not sure what you mean about the name? It means "eye of the snake" and it has something to do with the new way they designed the bobbin system.

I am having trouble with sewing knits on my machine and I’m hoping you can give some advice! I’ve tried the regular foot and walking, changed my needle to a thinner one and tried playing with the settings on my singer but I’m still having issues with my fabric getting sucked in and my thread will just ball up on the bottom 😣 any tips would greatly be appreciated! It’s so frustrating!

It's an older machine so it's likely discontinued, try watching eBay or buy/sell groups for a used one

my sewing machine keeps pulling the fabric to the left even when its well supported. I changed the needle and its still doing it. do you know what else could be causing this?

You should be holding the fabric gently and guiding it under the presser foot with no tension on the fabric. If that's what you're doing and it's still having issues, you should get your machine looked at by a technician. I hope this helps.

My problem is the foot is so heavy that makes the fabric super stretchy to the sizes as I saw. I dont have option for the feet setting

@@SewPDF ordered mine after watching this! Some people suggested changing needle- I don’t recall you mentioning this? Im working with “ crepé “ fabric… stretchy, wrinkly look, waive and soft ( in my country we called it that)
