@@maboigilgamesh3231 actually I heard ( I’m not a manga reader) that Isayama changed some lines in the anime to better suit his vision because in the manga, people did not understand the use of strong language when Armin thanked Eren for committing genocide, I guess they did not understand that he said it (not to completely be out of character) but to put great emphasis that he WILL shoulder Eren’s sin with him, that the atrocities Eren committed he won’t have to face them alone in hell. But of course it’s hard to read between the lines at that moment if you only focus on the sentence so Isayama had to lower the standards of his dialogue so that anime watchers don’t get confused like those manga crybabies. And it’s flabbergasting how people do not understand Eren when he says that all of this happened because he was an idiot because he’s basically right in his own way, but it’s really just a crude and simple way to once again highlight that he was a slave to freedom, his nature as a person stole his free will from the get go and that makes him the idiot of the story. A character with the power to rewrite the past and present of the show but unable to escape his own normality, the fact that he’s not special, his nature and thus incapable of opposing fate to have any other outcome ( not that there really was a better one.)
@pharaohgames3924
@pharaohgames3924 7 месяцев назад
When Eren says "I don't know why", he simply can't put into words the innate desire to level everything outside of the walls after being disappointed by the outside world not being unoccupied and free, but instead the same as the people inside the walls. Armin planted that idea of an unoccupied world in his head and when it turned out to be a lie, he felt that he needed to wipe the slate clean, because he realized that the problem was never titans, but people. Everything Eren influenced and worked towards was for the goal of eliminating the titan powers from the world, as far back as episode 2 he says he will eradicate all the titans in the world. He couldn't find any other way to accomplish this ultimate goal other than getting to the moment where Mikasa makes the choice, hard is it is, to kill the person she loves most in the world. Ymir, seeing Mikasa's choice, then realizes that she can also make the choice to stop obeying King Fritz, someone that she "loved" in a twisted fucked up way, maybe moreso someone that she wanted to reciprocate real love but who only treated her as a slave. The credit scenes of time passing show that the titan powers weren't the root of the problem, but as Erwin & Pixis said, humanity will continue to fight each other until there are less than two humans left. As for the final scene, when Ymir found the tree that she fell in, she was being hunted, chased by dogs and in need of an undying body and a world free from death, which she created when she touched the "origin of all life". However, with the final scene, we see an innocent child, accompanied by a companion in the form of a dog, approaching the hole in the tree where Eren's head was buried. The scene all around feels a lot more optimistic but is intentionally ambiguous. Does he also need an undying body, or something else? I like to think that he enters that tree with no malicious intent or peril, but instead curiosity and hope.

Completely agree, the power of titans and the paths was the manifestation of Ymir’s desires - the wish granted by the “origin of all life”. If the creature didn’t die due to a lack of a host after the battle - then the way the powers manifest would certainly be different.

"A garden-variety idiot who got his hands on some power. That's why this resolution was the only outcome." From Eren's mouth. That's the reason it wasn't really predetermined. It was determined by him, and then he couldn't take it back no matter how many changes he made.

@luccasliuti8098

Pretty stupid words, I might add. He became the villain of the story. They should have kept him like that. Instead they turned him into a twisted type of martyr who turns villain to make heroes out of his friends. It would be much more interesting if it were a real conviction generated by years of brutality experienced in the Attack Titan's memories and that genocide was the only option he could see, not a kid that got drunk with power. That scene where Eren appears as a kid marveling at freedom while disassociating with Armin to cope with his actions is vastly more interesting than what we got later. You say he didn't have to be the hero but that's exactly what they did with that ending. Amen, they removed the infamous "thank you for becoming a mass murderer, for our sake." They should have removed more things. When I rewatch other episodes, like when Eren convinces Ymir to free herself, or when he returns his father's memories to force him to kill the royal family, all that lost meaning. They simply threw away the most interesting parts of the last season because the author couldn't keep to his guns and send his protagonist off as a real villain.
@carlosriveraauthor
@carlosriveraauthor 7 месяцев назад
@@luccasliuti8098 I respectfully disagree. I love Eren exactly because he ISN'T a Lelouch-type genius with a perfect plan to become a martyr and make his friends heroes (he thought he was). That's not the lesson in this story. Sometimes misguided people who have no clue what they're doing do the greatest damage. That's the point. He made a stupid decision he couldn't take back because he was too immature and stupid to realize how. Then THAT person gets hailed as a savior by other misguided people that perpetuate war. That is a real-world message right there. That is happening as we speak. I totally get what you mean, it would've been nice to go full villain that way it's more clear-cut, but that's not what AoT is about, it's never a simple answer. But to each his own. I already had someone insult me personally for their love of a fictional character (not you). I'm out of this comment section.

That's basically what most people are doing when defending this ending. "Well, it is realistic for someone to regress to a child-like state when they are about to die". OKAY. I love Zeke building sandcastles during what is essentially the end of the world. He's so iconic. One of my favorite characters to be honest. I absolutely love the moment of Armin saying thank you to Eren and it cuts to Eren looking shocked because it feels very reminiscent of Mikasa thanking Eren for wrapping her scarf. Both Armin and Mikasa thanked Eren for helping them and showed him appreciation when he thought he was worthless. After all these years, it's finally over. We are free. Goodbye to all of the amazing characters from this story, both alive and dead. Goodbye Armin and Mikasa. And to Eren, the boy who sought freedom, goodbye. Thank you, Isayama.

A happy ending? Eternal peace for Paradise? No more wars in the world? Dude, the way it ends is perfect, Everybody won, The alliance, Eren, Jaegerist. 55:27 Hmm.. in regards to Eren's memories, this is how I see it: If yall remember when Eren got his head shot off the first time by Gabi, he technically died. In the paths (s4 ep 5) Zeke said that even though Eren can see the future, he does not see everything. Zeke mentions that there are things Eren doesnt know, such as when they first got on paths and Eren asked Ymir to lend him her power but she didnt at first. This shocked him, because he genuinely thought he would be able to use the founding power. He did not see the unearthened chains or Ymir following Zeke's orders in his memories of the future, because he died from that shot gabi gave him. Heck, he even asked what this place was when they first got in paths. The same thing in this episode. Eren says that Mikasa saves the day. How? He doesn't know because he dies before he can see what Mikasa does after (perhaps the kiss is what made Ymir finally end the curse of the titans). This implies that he can only see the future up until his last breath. Anyway, it's been a pleasure riding this journey along with you guys. Really enjoyed your discussions. Shinzou wo sasageyo!!!

Dina not eating Bert and being the first to find Carla under the rubbles where she was pratically hidden. The titan that killed all of Levi pals to awaken his Akerman instinct. The titan that jumped to eat Thomas and enrage Eren. Santa probably was too, man didn't eat Armin after Eren when he screamed his lungs out.

Copied my comment from another reaction: I feel like the end scene sums up that conflict is inevitable. Like Pyxis said in S3, "Humans will continue to fight one another until the day there's one human or less." The ending is like ripping off a band-aid, tens of thousands of years of conflict summed up in a single time-lapse. Be that as it may, I don't think the series is saying people like Armin are wrong for seeking peace against the inevitability of conflict. It's saying the exact opposite, in spite of war, violence, and conflict humanity should strive for peace even though they'll never have it. It's also saying that despite the sometimes cruel and conflict filled existence that is life, life itself has inherent value. The insignificant moments Armin was talking about are enough to give it great importance. I heard in an interview with Isayama and Yukimura (Vinland Saga's Mangaka) that Isayama is a fan of Vinland Saga. You can definitely see some thematic crossover between the two series. I love the messages of both AoT and Vinland, really thought provoking stuff. For anyone that bothered reading this, I hope you have a great day, I'm gonna miss this series, Thanks Isayama...

i don't think ymir was controlling eren. i think she picked eren because their goals aligned. and she picked mikasa because she could do what she couldn't. eren wasn't a slave to ymir. he was a slave to freedom, his ideology. he was obsessed with the idea of the world being unoccupied and free for the taking and was disappointed to find it full of hostile strangers. he could never change the outcome because he couldn't change his own nature that always pushed him towards that freedom as well as to protect those he loved. any other outcome would have probably resulted in destruction of paradis island and everyone he loved, or the perpetuation of the titan curse and eating each other to pass it on custom, or in making all eldians sterile. this scenario was the only one that allowed eldians to leave relatively peacefully for foreseeable future. but in the end everyone is a slave to something, and conflict is in human nature, and history repeating and war consuming everything yet again was inevitable sooner or later

For what it's worth I think the city getting destroyed happens hundreds, if not thousands of years after Eren and our cast dies. Remember the world got plummeted back to the same technology level as Paradis, which was essentially medieval with borrowed tech like guns, and we end up seeing a city full of buildings that far exceed our own in the real world. I think this is easily a 500-2,000 year time difference. Given that time difference, I don't think the conflict has anything to do with the Titans. It's a commentary on human nature, how people will always find excuses to fight. People forgot the rumbling, they forgot the horror of it, and turned back to war when it was nothing more than a footnote in their history books. Eren's actions, though not justified, bought his friends peaceful lives and an unprecedented era of peace.

The ending is basically the same as the manga, but in the manga they just eluded towards eren controlling the original Dina titan, in the anime he just confesses it directly, and in the manga armin didn’t talk about going to hell with eren he instead thanked eren for becoming a mass murdering to protect all his friends, and in the manga erens final look at himself and his actions he was more talking about how he just kind of kept experiencing flashes in his head of opportune doors to open (it’s speculated yimir purposely used eren to go down this path to eventually make it to the titan realm) and eren just kind of blindly kept opening each door and marching forward without knowing what the outcome would truly be for everyone, this is a rough explanation of the manga from my memory when I read it so long ago

I think an important point that should be highlighted more (and you guys didnt really touch on) is the fact that the curse of the titans was only a thing because of Ymirs twisted love towards the king. She was a slave of her love to him and remained obedient to him all this time because of that, effectively perpetuating the existance of the titans. That is until Erens chain of "decisions" ultimately led to Mikasa being forced to kill him, the one she loved with all her heart (in an extreme-obsessive way, which could be seen as similar to Ymir's) , giving a clear example to Ymir that you can in fact go against that kind of love, allowing her to be "free of her curse of love" towards the king and be able to rest, effectively lifting the curse of the titans from the world and all the implications that this have (eldians now being on "equal footing" - gene wise- with the rest of the world). In Eren's - Armin's conversation Eren says that he has been moving forward toward this direction, but not really being sure of why he had to take this path, but he "unconsciously knew" that it had to be that one (him being unsure of the outcome because he couldn't see further than his death, which is right before Ymir lifts the curse because of Mikasa). This path ultimately led to the extinction of the titans (among other things), allowing his friends to live long lives because they wouldnt have the 13 years to live restriction (which in this case would apply to reiner, annie and armin) and they wouldnt have "titan blood" anymore, dissipating the main issues of the "outside world" towards the eldians: their potential to transform into titans, and thus facilitating the way to temporary peace, which in the anime ending would last at least their lifetimes, being that one of erens main goals (not the only one, but an important one regardless).

Exactly, Mikasa was bound to show her that its possible. If Eren ever told her he loved her or sum, she wouldnt have done it i guess. So he had to push her away, them all, to ensure they have a reason to kill him.

It's over. It's finally over. It's been 10 long years, since I started watching the series way back in 2013. The wait was worth it. I was able to avoid any more spoilers since the last final part. I'm late here, just finished the final episode 24 hours ago. I'm actually relieved. I don't have to worry about those pricks spoiling the show for us anime-only watchers. When I know it's about to end, I don't quite want to jump in yet. I just get nervous. What a ride it's been. I'm glad I found your channel, among the dozens of other channel reactions I watch, and stuck with you guys until end. You committed to the show and paid attention and didn't talk over the dialogue like some other reactors (ahem.. Normies). AoT is just so easy to rewatch and it's still enjoyable re-watching it with other reactors. I really enjoyed the finale. I had low expectations going in because of some manga readers describing the ending as awful, giving it low ratings, discrediting Isayama as a terrible writier, and calling Eren the worst character of all time. Despite that, I thought it was a great ending. I didn't really understand why the ending was hated so much. I thought it was fine. There were a few things I didn't like, but I can chalk those up to nitpicks. If it was going to end, I'm glad it ended the way it did. All of the questions have been answered. There's no more speculation. Sayonara, Attack on Titan.

Eren said the same thing to Ramzi. It was for the sake of Paradis/his friends. But he wanted to wipe it all away. When he learned that humaity existed outside the walls... he was dissapointed. He said the same thing to Ramzi and Armin. What he doesn't know, is what is driving him to do the rumbling. But it is for a few reasons. 1. To match Armins book, becajse there is no freedom oitside the walls for him. 2. To save Paradis and his friends. Saving everyone was the secondary or more palatable excuse he came up with, and while he wanted to save them, his primary reason eas because he wanted to in the first place.

Where's Adam?!??! Sorry, I mainly only watched your videos for AOT, so I'm not sure if he left the channel or whatever. Thank you all for giving us your reactions though, I believe I only started following yall a year or 2 ago just for AOT. I wanted the ending of this series so bad, but now that it's happened, it's like damn, my favorite show is literally over lol. It almost feels like this is a 'goodbye' to AOT, the AOT community, & all of you RU-vid reactors. 😭💔 AOT episodes usually released on Sundays over the past few seasons. I remember after watching each episode, I would hop on YT to watch everyone's reactions & discussions, & I wouldn't be going to sleep until like 2am-3am on work nights! Lol. I don't think I'll ever love another series this much, I'm not even necessarily an Anime watcher but gave AOT a chance when it came out in 2013 & got hooked (tried to get into a bunch of other anime's after I got into AOT, especially when season 2 took 4 years to come out, but they did not keep my attention). I'm so glad to have witness these times! Much love to you both!

I never "supported" genocide & though I don't think it's abt what was the right choice there was no 'right' choice, but beside complete rumbling what ensured paradise's sure safety? & as historia said what happened isn't result of eren's choice only, it's all of us too, I hate that the show brought up what happened with hange Sasha & yeagerist & alliance again, I know it's natural for eren to feel guilty abt it since he's not a hypocrite when it comes to facing his choices unlike some members of alliance, but why some of u see only eren as guilty, in ep6 there was declaration of war on paradise, hange herself decided to gather them to stop the rumbling & yeagerists went there themselves to stop them to prevent paradise from being genocided, & alliance could bring themselves to kill them to stop this genocide... What I mean is that if the world wasn't so keen on attacking paradise these wouldn't happen would it?

it has been a jorney my friends! I ttotally understand the frustracion with the finalle...when i read on the manga, i got really tilted the way it ended, but with time, i could fully understand the purpose and mensagem with all this. AOT is massive realistic fable, with episodes full of emotions and twist, and because of that we raise the bar to high... with that being saied, we just whant all the answers, and we get it for 95%, but the way they "break" bad eren in the finale, didn't go to well and this kind of sucks. But its a unic show, its different of all, and for this i just love it. Its my top 1 for sure. Btw, Thanks WorkingTitlles! Watch these if haven`t Parasyte The Maxim 17-year-old Shinichi Izumi lives with his parents in a quiet neighborhood in Tokyo. One night, worm-like aliens called Parasites invade Earth, and they take over humans by entering through their ears or noses to get to their brains. One Parasite tries to crawl into Shinichi's ear while he is sleeping, but the teenager is wearing headphones so the Parasite enters his body through his arm instead! The Parasite named Migi ends up taking over Shinichi's right hand. Because Shinichi was able to prevent Migi from traveling further up into his brain, both of them are able to retain their separate intellect and personality. They end up fighting other Parasites who attack them after realizing that Shinichi's human brain is still intact. These other Parasites devour humans as food, and Shinichi ends up fighting them with Migi's help. As the two of them encounter more Parasites, they end up forming a strong bond as they work together to survive. Level E by the Hunter x Hunter author The plot follows the misadventures of alien Prince Baka Ki El Dogra, who crash-lands on Earth and forcibly begins living with high school student and baseball player Yukitaka Tsutsui. However, Prince Baka gradually realizes that he is targeted by aliens from other planets, and he uses his clever wits to somehow maintain world peace each time. Along with its short length and more realistic art style, the story of Level E focuses much more heavily on humor than Togashi's more famous shōnen series Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter × Hunter.
