My dad and I just ordered our first ice vending machine from Everest Ice and Water and it’ll be put in place this year and be up and running next spring. Excited to see how it performs!

Does anyone know where there are discussion boards from "actual" owners of these vending machines? I can't find any practical real life experiences from owners on youtube, just a lot of sales and hype.

@@JohnwithaG my guess is the people who buy these machines must sign some sort of agreement saying they will not ever post negatively on any social media platform. I mean you can find topics on anything on youtube yet we can't find one "honest owner testimonial??? Makes no sense. The lack of info from 'real' owners is a red flag. Also, so much positive youtube videos coming from companies like Everest and others. Basically self promotion to buy their units. I found out the ice machines aren't made until someone pays upfront. Then the machine will be made with ZERO risk to the manufacturer. I'm done with this quest. Seems too risky and too many dark blind alley's to go down All risk to the buyer of the machine. I have found similar scenarios in the franchise opportunities as well. Pay upfront and have no way of knowing if the business will create any revenue stream. Pay upfront and then find out if the biz can be profitable. $100K franchise fee or $50K ice machine are expensive questions imo. if the ice machines were so profitable, why are the companies all over youtube trying to get me to buy a machine? I'd be servicing 10 machines and NOT soliciting on youtube. Finally, how many PRIME locations are probably already taken up by the ice making companies already? So if I bought a machine i'd be competing for a space while the best ones are already taken by the ice making companies. Seems too fishy at the end of the day. Buying a McDonald's of Dunkin' etc has much more clarity thus the high price.

@@JohnwithaG John, I have stopped considering vending bc I realize all the really good spots are already taken, probably by the manufactures of the darn ice machines or other vending machines. Also, the amount of effort and energy being spent by youtubers posting is a huge RED flag. Why so much effort??? I started my quest with ice machine but when I learned I have to purchase the machine to have 1 built. that's when I said NO WAY. The manufacturer just wants $10K profit from suckers buying a machine that will be shiny but have few customers. It costs say $20K to buy, figure $10K to make and then what? What spots are left? The manufacturer takes 0 risk bc they don't make any machines unless paid for first. All the while the manufacturer probably has already placed INCOME producing machine at every marina in the universe. Location is vital and IMO all the good parking places are already taken. I'm going to just take my skills and use the stock market. I trade covered calls. I always hedge but Covered Calls can produce income. If you have capital look into Covered Calls but PLEASE hedge first bc the market could go down at the wrong time. If you hedge you can't lose your money. Buy good quality stocks you want to own forever. NO overhead. No upsell etc. Just learn how to protect your investment. Something you can't do in Vending. I like APPLE or Microsoft. Businesses that aren't going out of biz, lol. I don't use Apple products, but I think Apple is going to tap into Health in a big way soon. They sell lots of hardware, but I think they will delve into other areas. Covered Calls are good with APPLE bc it's not too crazy and wild like NVDA or AMD or META etc. All great companies but not best Covered Call candidates imo. Just skip the vending, the manufacturers got in on the ground floor. Newbies are fighting for scraps. I'm done considering vending. I will use $30K in Covered Calls and build that biz. Try to make $$800/month in the beginning. Get good and scale up. No inventory or stocking or rotten food etc. Good luck.
