- loge - but yesterday there was also no vlog and no videos on his other channels. Btw he also said that he is going to upload "building the live streaming room" at Saturday, but we still didn't got a video. Dissapointed at Alex ;(
As my computer struggles to comprehend the quality of your video due to issues with my network I have been sold in 42 seconds. Well done my friend. Well done
I am using BT Wifi Hub. I need this, when I'm at home on the top floor my wifi is so slow. Would mean a lot if I won this, good luck everyone. I'm following and got notifications on!
Faris Khan there are a lot of cheaper options aswell. You don’t need exactly what he’s talking about. I have a tp link router I use for experiments and found out you can use it as a range extender, an access point or a router
Hey Alex........ if you had the choice....? This setup or your recent setup of 3 Unifi AC HD’s, usg, 16 gig switch and cloud key? Also what would give you the best signal and throughput?
BT home hub 5, I get around 6Mbs down and 6Mbs up from 10 meters away from the hub. BT hubs sucks so bad. I pay for so much more than what I am getting :(
Hi Alex I am currently using the BT home hub 6 with two old routers connected as wife extenders which means I have to manually switch between them to get the strongest signal
I've been using Amplifi for a few months. My 2 story home is only 1400sq ft so I opted for the Router only option. Works great, even reaches my neighbors' house.
CHben Apple hasn’t had real MESH though. But things like Sky Q use a brand new type of MESH for media throughput. This is just the start though, their are a lot of very nice wireless technologies coming to market over the next couple of years, cables will be dead.
Mate nice video. Question I have the NETGEAR RBK53 Orbi Whole Home Wi-Fi Mesh System Up to 7500 sq ft Coverage (11AC 3.0 Gbps Tri-Band with Router and 2 Satellites). With a 1GB internet connection up and down. Would you recommend the Ampufi HD instead?
I would like the HD router. The router I’m currently using is a linksys 2011 model year and I can’t pick up hardly any signal in my house. Btw, thanks Alex for making all these videos you are really inspiring and creative with your work. Please never stop RU-vid because I’m cheering you on for all three channels and I watch the vlogs every day. Thanks for sharing everything you do with the world. ✌🏻🌎
I am connected to an old forthnet router that for some reason stop giving WiFi like 20 time a day...BTW I love your videos and I watch your vlogs every single day... You are my inspiration...
I'm currently using a BT Hub 5. I pay for 76mb/s down and 20 mb/s up. I get around 67 mb/s close to it and about 10 at the furthest point in the house with a BT extender. Nothing special but does the job... Kinda. Great video Alex!
Currently using Netgear in house with OK results. Q: what about more mesh antennas - like to cover our church. Will main router handle additional units?
range on the google wifi was horrible returned it for amplifi never had a problem since the app is a lot better too the google one you cant change anything on it.
Hey am using an old quad core duo computer with a wireless card thrown in and untangle as the OS. What happened to the Ubiquiti setup you had before? or was that some place other than your house?
AP AC Lite here, with Edgerouter X. Covers the whole apartment in 35 to 300Mbps. May be more but my devices are not so new and that's all they get. Would be nice to see how one of these stacks up against the single AP I have.
Quick question on an old video but still relevant I think. I enjoyed both you videos on Asus' Lyra and this one as well. If you were going to choose between the 2 which would you pick and why?
Alex I am using talk talk but it does reach my room so I need to go the living room to watch your adorable tech flow video so I wouldn't mind witch ever you give
Enjoying your videos via a home made mesh system with multiple "not-even-the-same" routers, all connected to cable internet modem. Wired gets great speeds (97down/4.9up); Wireless speed ranges (11-50down/3.5-4.5up). Cool how AMPLIFI uses same network name for each mesh-point. No need to switch WiFi connections each time one goes out of range! Great kicking skills!
I'm connected to my iPads personal hotspot which is 1 bar of 4G and really slow and I'm able to go to another room without loosening signal and it only has five spaces for people to connect to. Thanks love your videos ❤️❤️
what will you (TechFlow) use a AmpliFi router or d-link router ... ? I am using basic d-link single band router ... If win , hopefully use net in whole house ......
these look awesome Alex...so currently watching on PC via ethernet on sky standard router, a few questions...if you are in an older house where the wiring is maybe not correctly connected or it's just plain old or as i am led to believe some sockets will just not receive the signal from the router...can you explain a little about this in a video maybe in the future...thanks mate
hay alex. i hav a huawei B315 3g router with sim card . can the amplifi HD have an effect on download speeds am getting? currectly getting 6.5Mbps Download and 3.2Mbps uploads.
Hi Alex I'm using the TP Link TL WR740N Router, and its definitely needs an upgrade, because the 2.4 signal is just getting messed up with my neightbours wifi. I would love to use any edition of the router! Keep up the good work!
Hi Alex i.ve just ran a eathanet extention cable from living room to daughters bedroom by running the cable along the house and in through the wall signal and speed is 10 times better obviously cause it's hard wired but still struggle with WiFi in her room what could I now do to improve this
The router that I'm using is the ASUS RT-AC68U and I'm connected Charter internet with 60Mbps down and 5Mbps upload. It's a great router and I enjoy your videos.
hey man I'm watching this vid on some shockingly bad internet which doesn't even get 8 Mb up and 2 Mb down, this unit could change my life love the vids and i have notifications are on cos this channel is bos im currently using a plusnet router via wifi
hi alex i live in the north west currently using genexis router provided by my isp called Ba4n in which i get 1gbps up and down the service they provide means the fiber is hard wired into the router in my house .
Sky hub :/, does this automatically change ap's on Android? As you still have to manually change them/turn off and on, over WiFi if you setup a mesh network through manually changing different ap ssids?
I'm currently using a Tp-Link Archer C3200, which has been a good router. I have been looking to switch to a Google Home or a Eero setup, so would love how this compares, to the other systems. I can't wait for mesh systems to be more affordable. I didn't find this review comprehensive and it was difficult to judge the distances away from the hub when the speed tests where done.
Hey bro i needed to ask something, are there any ways i can make a 5-10 kilometres of Wifi zone, and the range wouldn’t be bothered by trees and buildings?
Hi Alex....I love your videos and all what you review, just one small thing...All what you review is just so expensive....I love your daily vlogs and you are a technological wizard....Keep up the good work.....
I am currently using a BT Business Hub 5 router on a 20/2 Mbps business all copper line. I have three BTBH5s setup as access points, two Cisco Meraki MR30H WAPs, two Cisco Meraki MR34 WAPs, two Cisco Meraki MS220-8 switches and an array of fully managed Cisco and Extreme Networks Gigabit and 10 Gigabit switches. I run Mellanox InfiniBand switches for all of compute network needs. My storage is currently running on Mellanox 100 Gbps InfiniBand. This is all at home as I run my own data centre at home.
I'm currently using an old 2010 cisco router and I'm suppose to be having 24mb/s (that's nothing compared to what you have) and I only have 11mb/s max. but only if I'm sitting next to the router. If I want to go somewhere else around the apartment I have a good signal but it is super slow and it's driving me crazy I'd love to win. Hopefully I will. I love your videos and I watch your vlogs every single day.
Hi I watching this on virgin media network/router but I have to use netgear boxes to get the internet upstairs which means two 5g or 2g and having to switch networks every time I go up or down stairs. This would be really ideal for my house.
Im watching on my bog standard virgin router geting about 18mb down and 5 up with a bt wifi extender. I really think this router will help my internet issues.
i am currently using a stranded virgin media router and a bt wifi range extender what my mum bought even though i told her not too! Keep up the good work !
Hi Alex, I'm currently connected to my Sky Q Hub. I'm into networking and have a love for fiddling around with my network, loved this video and your other home networking tours!
I am using a Mikrotik RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN, unfortunately limited to football only in the garden as well due to the poor wifi coverage outside, wireless mesh unit would be nice !!! Thanks. Jon.
@TechFlow i am using a TP-Link Archer router with a slow wifi connection. i would be sure as hell be interested in the Amplifi but (in case of a second place :) ) the AC LR will do wonders too
Hi Alex, I am using the BT Infinity Hub 5 Router right now. It sucks. It always crashes and has a really poor connection, even if you're on top of it. Btw I watch all of your channels and love your vids.
Watching this on the standard router that I got from my provider, my internet is terrible. My ping is 51, Download is 4.36 and upload is 0.43. I might get one of these and see if it helps me out.
I'm watching from work, shhh :) I've been looking at this product a couple of times, since im looking for a new home system. I dont got any router at my house, i simply got my ISP modem, with (Bad) Wifi in it. Btw i love your vlogs.
I am using the BT Smart hub with smart disc, it help me so much having such a fantastic system. Keep up the good work, love all your videos. Have also subscribed and liked
Asus rtn12+ for ground floor and Xiaomi mi router 3c for first floor. It's a bit annoying changing the network while going upstairs or downstairs. Mesh network would really help me in this.
Currently using a Netgear C7000-100NAS cable Modem gateway with ACwifi. Would love to upgrade to an all ubiquity system, it would allow me to get rid of the homewire ethernet extenders that I have to use to reach to my kids bedrooms.
I am watching this video on the campsite I am staying on. They give out free wifi using Ubiquiti Unifi Ac Ap Pro's and the speeds are 0.5 up and down 😂. Love the vids and would love a mesh unit. Big into networking myself but can't afford the equipment. Keep up the great work ❤️
I liked this review... It seamed honest and to the point. I'm looking for a solid (most important feature) and a quick WiFi network at home (well who isn't ;)). Next to a stable experience, the looks of the base unit is appealing ... I will be placing (if I can manage the cost for the HD set) the base router in our main leaving room. The nice display (even with the time and date) is just super! Well great that you tested this set, it is clear what my next steps are going to be. With kind regards, Jeroen Wolf
Hi, I'm currently watching this video on my fire stick casting from my tablet. I'm using the sky q router with a tplink range extender extending the WiFi into the living.
Hey Alex! I'm currently using the TG789vac v2, not too bad, but for the size of my house it's just not enough. After watching this video I really got into this wifi router :D
Great review. Helpful. I would have liked you to include advanced configuration like Port Forwarding, DHCP reservation, NAT, etc. I have Orbi RBS50 (mfr Netgear) and it works far better with its 1 satellite than previous Apple AirPort Extreme, but still not quite good enough. I watched your video to determine whether I should invest in a $180 add-on Orbi Satellite or ditch it and go with Amplifi. After your review, I'm going to ditch it and go with Amplifi. Just wondering now if I should choose HD/LD...
That’s why I subscribe to your channel. And would watch this over any other tech channel on RU-vid. Thanks. For this video. I will be replacing my crappy router and getting this. But since my house is not as big as yours I will be only getting a unit with 1 mesh point.
I am using the BT Hub which goes into a Extreme Networks switch with VLANs (separating traffic between different networks) that my three Unifi APs understand (Internal, Guest and Home).
Hi Alex I am using my isp provited Verizon FiOS router access point with a repeater and I still don't get any wifi in my sun room. Which is 150 feet away
