The eco friendly category is a nice addition. Considering the size and scale of these tech companies and how much electronic devices they sell (in terms of millions), a positive eco friendly initiative will go a long way to better our environment.
That Huawei part at the end is so true. They were my favourite brand as they innovated so much more than competitors and actually forced others to innovate to catch up, as you described in your reviews of their products back then. Sad to see how it ends up.
Honor is literally huawei. Lmao. They haven’t really innovated much, I do believe their glory days Are over. i still think a chinese brand will take over again though, they are way too competitive not to.
I still using p30 pro and the Huawei camera snap on shooting stars ✨ is still the best option for staying with the Huawei brand. Believe me you will like it if you still using Huawei. 😊🙏🏾🖤
This channel is not just the epitome of tech youtube, but youtube in general. The information shared, endless creativity and top notch dedication really makes me feel guilty for watching this for free. Every video is fantastic, thank you Arun.
i have to agree, the 13 pro max has a stupid good battery life. literally have never once worried about my battery dying for the first time in my life with a phone. truly a tank
It's really a pity to lose all that camera related know-how of Huawei. Really pushed Samsung & Sony on the high end and Xiaomi in the lower priced segments.
The first sentence is as true as it could get. The number of smartphones being released is just unfathomable with a lot of them being just slight variations of each other especially from Xiaomi and relame. Phones are getting good and more value for money but the sheer number of them makes it very hard to choose
And the other thing is that since they release a lot of phones a year with even a slight change you will feel your phone got outdated quickly. Happened with me, not gonna go for a redmi Or realme next time
That closing about Huawei was really emotional. At least it is good to know that it's fall was never due to being outcompeted but other geopolitical reasons
Even now they're trying. Their whole HarmonyOS thing is really cool and the investment to go alternative Google is decent as well. Their hardware, software and updates are still top notch.
I could only imagine the tons of work you have put in over the years to be this outstanding... Your content is so captivating and unbiased and the quality of your videos; jaw dropping! Weldone Arun. To me, you are more than just a tech reviewer, you are a huge motivation.
I love this channel, I’m a person who usually only looks at phone related videos if it’s cute customization, do to actual reviews being slow and never cutting to the chase. However, this channel gets right to what you clicked for, with quick introductions and thorough yet quick explanations. Keep up the good work!
Stop calling him Arun like you know this man in real life. You don't know him. You know his brand and his channel. Live in reality and get yo head outta fantasyland. He knows he's doing great based off of his video viewership time.
@@blackleague212 Why are you having a temper tantrum over me calling him by his name? Just because I don't know him personally I shouldn't use his name? Low IQ take.
The death of Huawei really did hit hard. They were without a doubt pushing their competitors to do better, as they themselves were constantly bringing out new tech with a lot of innovation. Let's not forget that Huawei was the one who gave us "night mode" first.
Yup the P30 I have still holds up to today's phones (in its price range) I'm gonna be sad to see it go when I upgrade eventually but goddammit did they push the phones to bleeding edge as well as the software optimization/battery having make everyone else psuh themselves as well.
i still have the P20 PRO with the first night mode shot. The phone has great pic, i still searching for the replacement didn't find any innovated phone... maybe the X80 pro but still... i hope one day Huawei comeback to the game.
Been watching you since 2017 when you had only 300k subscribers and been here since then.it's really nice to see you've come this far really proud of you arun
Just get a honor magic 4 ultimate. Its basically huawei anyway 😂 With new tech and GMS I wonder why 20000 employees moved from huawei when honor was "sold" 😂😂😂
The quality of these videos just keeps getting more and more insane! Love the new ideas and styles, but take care not to work yourself too hard Arun! We need to keep you healthy so you can continue to give us the most fun and interesting tech advice on the internet!!
The Huawei one genuinely saddened me, I’m still rocking the P30 Pro and it really is a bummer that Huawei couldn’t maintain its amazing service just cause of the US ban. While I look into transitioning or upgrading to an iPhone this year, I hope in the future Huawei gets to recover from this damage and I would gladly return to them.
10:28 These segments featuring Milo makes me genuinely ask "why isn't there a special Instagram page/ RU-vid channel with Milo as the star of the show?"
This video, just like all of your others are a total home run. Love this, and honestly with every video it makes me want to pursue a career reviewing tech. It’s so nice to see so many other people who I can relate with. I currently have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and an S22 Ultra because I love them both for different reasons.
I am currently debating whenever I should get the iPhone 13 pro (maybe max) or the Samsung S22 ultra, I have an MacBook Air so I don't wanna ruin the Apple ecosystem but at the same time Samsung has the S pen which I think would be really useful and you can shoot moon pictures up close. Plus i'm a student. Which one would you recommend?
“Five years of warranty” Norwegians: what? That’s normal. Context: In Norway a segment of “kjøpsloven” or “purchase law” the seller legally has to give you a 5 year warranty on new smartphones of all kinds (provided by the store not the company such as Apple or Samsung but by Elkjøp or Power).
It's nice to see that other brands are making an effort to grab attention and marketshare by making more compelling devices. If most of these devices were available globally, I wouldn't hesitate to switch over.
I genuinely am surprised why the Moto Edge 30 pro hasn't got more popularity this year. Honestly a great phone and very strong old OnePlus vibes. Great value for almost flagship features
Yes.. it's of the best phones with great Android experience and many other features. I expected Edge 30 in the list. I think he hasn't reviewed it yet .
Ya but the whole down side is that can't unlock the bootloader which means no modding at all which is unacceptable in the modding/android enthusiast community
This is hands down your best video. I loved every single second of it while watching. Hope you’re doing great with your health changes that you’ve planned doing almost a week ago. Take care of yourself, that’s the only way you can keep your videos going!
I remember back then when Huawei came out with Mate 10 alongside with Leica,I really excited and wish could lend my hand on that phone ,also Huawei tend to be known as one of the early access features tech which making them a beast of smartphone and everytime they launch new model, hands down the best tech of the year
They are cut from everything, hardware and software - and that is what pisses me off. They can manage without GMS, but without new chips and other hardware... Well... They shifted focus to China market and left global market. Xiaomi is wannabe Huawei, but they still did not match the quality of Huawei phones. I owned phones from both manufactures, and still own Mate 30 Pro.
I felt really sad at the end when Arun was talking about the Huawei P series. They just made the smartphone market as it's currently. From the zoom lens to the night mode. Those were some Nostalgic moments. Nostalgic Times, when we had some serious competitions and innovations at a rapid space. Those Pixel and P series competition. Innovation in designs and cameras. US had to ruin this with their baseless strategies.
the strategy wasn't baseless though, it was a superpower trying to harm their biggest competing superpower, which is a strategy that's been happening forever throughout history. That said, the accusations were absolutely baseless and the ban exists simply due to political reasons, nothing else.
They were deliberately sending engineers to major Telcomm vendors to 'get inspiration' in full details and then bid against them on major projects for much less only to attempt to put to together the equipment while on the contract, slaving away on engineers to meet the deadlines. So yeah, the ban goes quite a bit beyond the mobile phone market. I'm not a fan of the US or their companies but Huawei is next level shameless when it comes to steal tech and push it as it's own...
@@dayelu2679 No you speak as yourself, as an Asian I am appalled at self hating people like you. Do you think the US will ever see justice for their imperialistic wars? Huawei got too big for their boots and they stopped them.
This is THE BEST review I have ever seen. This is gold. The breakdown of different users, the cinematography, the explanation, gestures, and overall charisma. Hands down, amazing and very informative. Have my like and subscribe and notification.
Love how you show the timers in the video and it's nice when fast forwarding past a non interesting phone, but I think it would be even better if you also put timestamps in the video, like chapters. Thanks for a great video 👍
I've had p40 pro+ for almost two years and I love it - the camera, the battery, the speed and the software, just wow. I think this will be the only phone that I won't change after two years like every other phone until now. The loss of google did hurt a bit coming from V30, but I got all the apps I wanted by downloading apk.
Ignore the messages that you won anything like the "reply" from a bot in my message below. I tried warning people by leaving a reply to the bot's "message", but it just gets deleted. I tried reporting it for misinformation, but it gets posted again (or maybe YT thinks that scamming people with bots doesn't count as "misinformation"). So just ignore it and don't get scammed.
@@Draxlar you're my friend bud hhhh I also was a big fan of lg phones, and after they quite i had to move on so I've decided that i want to go with the mate 30 pro, it,s just awesome i was able to sideload GMS but if I weren't able i was ready for the comprise, cauze this phone is soo cool as a hardeware and designe
Huawei may not have any built-in Google services, but I believe there's a way to completely sideload the entire Google framework onto the device to give it google services. At least that's what I did on my old Fire tablet, which had the same problem back in 2016-
As much as I’ve been a Samsung Galaxy user in the past and a current iPhone user, I too was once excited about the energy Huawei once brought to the smart phone industry but it’s ban really killed it’s momentum. That said, I’m glad to see that there is so many great phones being made by so many different companies. There are a whole lot to choose from for people who have not yet found their ecosystem.
@@chieftongames9016 who said otherwise? If you pay attention to his original comment he said he’s a iPhone user somewhere in there so I threw that at him for a response. To eaches own you can’t get anything free on apple only their battery life is the only thing comparable to android that it excels at.
@@robmalcolm8042 Well no, he never said he switched to iPhone, in my original reply to yours you asked if IOS was is ecosystem, sorry if I sounded rude, I was just saying that Samsung doesn’t use IOS Edit: I just re-read the comment, sorry Im an idiot at times
Still using my Huawei P30 Pro (Mystic Blue) and it has been one of the best phones I've had. I travel a lot and the quality of pictures can still compete with the pictures taken from today's cameras. Really sad to see Huawei's demise. Seems I am getting pulled towards getting the Samsung S22 Ultra as my next phone.
Buy Vivo x70 pro plus or Vivo x80 pro if you need great night photography and great camera and also features like ir blaster great charger and best material
@@xaviergaubert-amy877 Still don't know enough about it but if it is everything Huawei was supposed to be then it should be worth it. I guess it depends whether Honor can really make a mark in the world of "Flagships". I appreciate the suggestion and will try to find more about it as I have not seen any proper reviews.
I have been watching these videos for a while now and I must compliment the host/presenter for being intelligent, engaging and charming. I feel I'm learning a lot and I'm also being entertained, which is sort of the gold standard for channels like this. Keep up the great work!
You’ve really outdone yourself! I may be new here, I started watching this in 2019, but I still love your videos! I remember when the earlier Huawei’s were released and they really were amazing, so I seriously felt emotion when the P50 Pro was the worst phone of the year. I don’t know if the things the US were saying about Huawei were true, but either way, it really took away from the smartphone market, basically destroying any competition Huawei could’ve added to the market. Anyway, I’m rambling. Thanks for the video, Arun!
The cinematic experience, the production, the script, everything is so perfect. I have rewatched the Huawei final burial like 5times and it was emotional and interesting and funny at the same time
Absolutely thrilled that you recommended the Oppo Find X5 Pro as one of the best all rounders! I settled on this phone myself after literal months of deliberation and research, weighing up the pros and cons of SO many options, and you being my favourite reviewer but also one of the only tech reviewers not to give it a full review I was conscious I'd made the wrong decision. But I chose it for the exact reasons you stated, which mostly comes down to best value for money - stunning design and camera, more ram and storage than competitors, really fast charging and a charger in the box, plus Snapdragon (not Exynos) chipset, all for cheaper than the S22 Ultra. I feel very validated right now 😍 you're awesome!
Yes, tried the S22U and that was very disappointing. Now onthe OPPO and it is a beast in comparison for speed, performance, RAM management and smoothness. The fact it was effectively £300 cheaper than the Ultra (taking the case, screen protector and charger into account) and you get £350 of freebies and it is the obvious value option.
Sadly in my country even this phone is amazing it's still mocked by the lack of periscope that it's sibling (X80 pro) and competitors (xiaomi 12 ultra and S22U) have. It's all true and i feel lost it but not a total dealbreaker for me considering $300 is still a money (S999 vs $1299 for the same variant 12/256 S22U), i personally still totally happy for what it gives 90% quality of S22U i still get with just less than 80% of price needed to get the phone
@@justinsm Yes, of course, if 10X zoom is important then there are other choices, but personally I never used it on my S20U/S22U and I feel that there are only so many moon shots you can take! So, I went for the extra cash and no zoom (do not use s-pen) and avoid the Exynos. I get about 30% better battery on the OPPO compared to S22U and overall a much better phone. Had two updates since I bought a few weeks ago and would suggest that it is the current best release of 2022.
Glad to see you back. Usually when youtuber starts compaining, the channel loses it's momentum, and i meerely hope this will not be case for your example. Love this channel♥️.
Thank you for including the smaller hands category. A lot of women have just naturally smaller hands and a lot of us struggle with choosing phones that don't require two hands to use. Me being one of them, and I never encountered a popular chanel talking about phone choices specifically to solve that issue. This no joke helped me decide on the phone I wanted. Thank you again, it's really appriciated
Even though my hands are massive and still growing, I still prefer smaller phones. They're easier to use one handed, lighter and often because they are more compact, are more intact. While I like my pixel 6, it's a worrying experience using it one handed since trying to reach the letters on the far left of the keyboard almost makes my phone fall out of my hand. Hopefully I can get a mini iPhone soon!
@@neosonixyz i don't exactly agree with you on the minis but i get the stress with the pixel 6 pro because the literal only reason why i wouldn't buy one is the size. :(
I like the fact that this video can be stretch (zoom on youtube) and nothing is being cut out. Editor and Camera guy did a good job. Thumbs up for both of them.
i am a samsung lover and every year they just smash every phone and the s22 ultra is fantastic but i would go for s22 plus for its size and decent battery life with almost same features
Although it's sad, you're absolutely right about Huawei. I've been using Huawei phones since 2015 because even back then I was impressed by them. But the phone I'm using right now, the p40 lite, will most probably be the last Huawei I'll use. Unless the ban falls(which will most likely not happen)
sadly the US couldn’t handle a brand growing so quickly and first to threaten apple with ecosystem based software.

Im sure huawei will go back to the top of smartphone innovation just with a different name, and that name will most probably be their NOVA brand. It's starting to show up here and there and with very cool phones and insane levels of marketing. Huawei might be banned, but NOVA isn't, and while NOVA doesn't have at all the same "brand recognition" that Huawei has been building itself for 10+ years, it's starting to pick up and has the huge multi billion dollar funding of huawei behind it. Let's see what the future brings. I myself really like Samsung but it's always awesome to have at least more than two big brands, true ultra premium flagships on the market. Because ultra premium is not only hardware, but software and ecosystem too, and all brands outside samsung and apple are lacking in the ecosystem part. Huawei was building it, very fast... Edit: I meant HONOR, not NOVA
@ although Honor has Huawei behind it it doesnt have the full force of Huawei as shown with their recent phone which is essentially a copy of huaweis but only slightly better. Their smaller team and lesser experience is shown in the lack of development for the camera software and general software. I hope they can make it but as it stands it doesn't look like it....
Man you are pushing your boundaries, it's more like a short movie than a video, it's very well curated, which I think matters the most, not just the information. You and mkbhd you guys are really going for it. All the best. Eagerly waiting for your next video.❤️
The categories you used, the way the video is setup, scripting, objectivity and your personality… Exquisite! PS: I heavily dislike best phone videos videos but you changed the narrative
The quality of your videos is insane. Feels like a team of people worked to make this video as fluent as as well edited as it is. This feels like more than just another RU-vid video. This feels like RU-vid premium. I feel like I should’ve had to pay extra to watch this 😂😂
I used to own two Huawei phones: the P8 and the P10. Even though their batteries were weak the phones looked stunning and felt great in your hand and they took amazing pictures. At least we got Honor smartphones like the Honor Magic 4 Pro with Android now!
I really love my huawei mate 20 pro (yes, it has google play) honestly, I would buy huawei again if not because of the ban, their camera and camera software is top notch
I also have the Huawei Mate 20 pro and I absolutely love it. However since the latest EMUI 12 update I've been experiencing significant loss in battery life, the battery percentage just drops so quickly. Please let me know if you have the same problem so I know whether its a general problem with the update or some problem with my phone.
This is and has been my favorite RU-vidr and RU-vid channel for a while now. The amount of love and hard work he and his team put into these videos are astounding. Some of his videos about tech that doesn’t appeal to me, I still watch just to support and see how good of a job he does with each and every video. The amount of information and presentation is astounding.
Would have loved to see that Huawei P50 Pro on the top. The phone is amazing. But agree that it is a difficult recommendation. I am quite invested in the Huawei ecosystem and what they are bringing to the table is fabulous.
You nailed this one correctly Arun!! The scenes were so magical that I had to rewatch to actually see which phones were the best. Good presentation 👍 and keep it up. A pity Huawei's dying down cause it has always been my favorite phone
I have a pixel 6, I don't recommend it . A colleague has the Samsung S22 and it's In a completely different league., albeit it's more expensive , but it's amazing, plus the S22 has a beautiful vibrant screen . The pixel 6 is full of glitches and has a sub par screen. I do love the pixels pure android experience though, that's one thing that's in its favour!😊
This video was a true piece of art. Wow. You’re hands down the best (at least for me) tech RU-vidr in this entire platform. I can’t even imagine how much effort and how long it must take to put such a video together. Bravo!
I think you should have mentioned Realme GT 2 Pro, in the eco friendly sector. It really changed its back panel to an unique design that feels premium.
I have used Huawei phones for the last 5 years and would love to continue although lack of GMS its a hard no. If Huawei were to be unbanned they would kill the market again. Their phones and user experience were the best in the Android world.
I got myself the S22 Ultra 256GB Dual Sim last month and I have never been happier. It is a monster phone, and the videos I have been able to capture have impressed myself and others.
I love the dedication and detail you give to the videos, a tear ran down my cheek during the Huawei segment... Not because of the phone being the worst but just the pure acting skills and the creativity as well as the effort put into giving the audience a real funeral experience. The somber music just topped it off
I really loved the ending and especially thr new category of the worst phone. I did prefer how you did the price ranges in the budget phone category like under £300 & £200 etc but amazing video
