Had to watch it like 3 times to even be able to see how you were getting it all down haha also what's the name of your background song? especially the first one?
Nice…this bass has a sleek retro look. The body looks like mix between a rickenbaker and a fender jazz bass. And the headstock kinda reminds me of a Yamaha trb bass. Other than that, the tone sounds pretty cool. And the finish looks nice.
Love that your uploading more frequently Patrick. Can't wait for a new installment of Show Me What You Bass. This bass is definitely unique and not just another P or J bass copy, which is a win in my book
Thanks man! Ironically, I'm about to go on vacation and move into my new house right after, so it's gonna be some extra time for the next release, but I'm hoping to get a solid and consistent release schedule after!
Ooh, saw this in your best bassline video. And figured it was a Baum, because the knobs and pickguard styling look like my Wingman guitar. Plus the perloid inlays. Awesome bass, sounds great.
Looks sick for sure I was looking at the black finish one and it's niceeeee, just wish there was a 5 string model! Couldn't find one on their site unfortunately. Awesome looking and sounding bass though!
Incredible sounding bass! Would love if you’d talk more about your string choice on these bass reviews and how it affects how the tone of the bass you’re reviewing! Thanks Patrick!
Patrick, dig your reviews. Pro player here with everything from Aria Pro II to Zon. You mentioned the pickups are bright…like Dingwall bright or just hot? Would you consider a Nidhogg to be worthy and capable of filling the shoes of a Sadowsky NYC or Fender American Ultra PJ?
They say on the Baum website that it has a satin finish on the back of the neck, but one of your "cons" said that it was glossy. Do you know which type of neck this ships with now?
Good morning Patrick! I love your reviews. I like the way you give a disclaimer at the beginning of your reviews. I have never seen a published video of a bass or pedal that you did not like. Obviously you have run across "less than stellar" equipment. Have you ever published a video of equipment that you did not like????
So Patrick, quick question I'm trying to figure out before I pull the trigger on one of these. Your demo has a matching headstock (which I love) but the website is showing a black headstock. You know if that's standard or if there's something special with your demo model?
Been curious about this one for awhile. You're right about the tone it sounds great. Some instruments sound so great you want to minimize effects sometimes. The back of the neck finish I think is done because it prevents atmospheric effects on the neck. My Epiphone has a finish neck but it's also a set neck made of mahogany that may not bode well in the temperate climate I live and I have noticed I have never had to adjust the truss rod or intonation which really makes for consistent feel and tone.
What a great looking instrument. I looked at their web site and I love the white. This ocean mist is great too but if I had to choose, the white would win.
Your reviews are awesome as always!!! I love your pick technique...question...do you offer lessons? I am trying to get my picking technique and theory up to snuff...do you offer lessons?
Sweet bass!!! But I’m curious, what’s the weight? For me the weight is a back and deal breaker. My back can’t do heavy a$$ basses no mo!!! Lol my Schecter C4 is only 6/7 pounds so love it!!! Curious on the weight on this. 😊
Nice demo, as this is needed for this new bass, for those interested, but it would have been more helpful to comment/subtitle pickup/tone settings. Just left us guessing.
If Rickenbacker developped a new bass, it should look like this =) Compared to the price tag of a Ric the price seems reasonable for a small manufacturer producing in Europe. And yes, that colour is sooooo cool, I love it!
I could totally see myself with the black/gold one. Are they actually made in Denmark or is just the company HQ in Denmark? Also a bit odd that they seem to ship from the USA so EU buyers pay to ship it over the pond which is unusual for an european company.
We ship everything from Denmark :) Some products are made in Denmark, others are made overseas, but everything gets shipped to lovely Aarhus, Denmark where we handle QC and set-up on every bass and guitar we produce. And then yes, we ship direct to consumers as well as selected retailers :)
If I'm going to deal with the bad ergonomics of a Ric (slab body, binding, truss rod cover) then I want it to at least sound like one. This sounds very much like a 70s jazz bass in a different package.
Not a fan. Not uniquely cool enough in looks or sound (via demo). Id need to play one to possibly be blown away by its brilliant playability, but I'm doubtful of that. Looks like a mash up of too many notable guitars.
Nyato is pronounced Nato silent Y and would be nice to have a more in depth review to include tone samples weight price including shipping and specs it's a very good looking bass
Looks and sounds killer, it’s a shame the headstock looks so hideous, never liked the spearhead shape nor the use of hip shot tuning machines. It’s a pity, save for the headstock it would be a great bass.
