So far you literally have been the best RU-vidr iv seen. You edit perfectly and still show what your building and doing plz keep the videos long gives me something to watch while I take care of my newborn lol.
@@ThatGuyCanmanNC I'ts not as creative as the last game. You can make really big and cool bases still, however its going to take longer, since its focusing on being a simpler more realistic building. You can still make cool stuff tho.
The reason it look so dark when next to your fire is that they've put a pretty good representation of "diminishing natural night vision" into the game. If you stand next to a bright light source your eyes adjust to said source and you can only see what it immediately lights up. If you walk away from the fire your vision will over the course of a few seconds adjust so you can see further
Quick tips: - Press hold Inventory button for quick weapon select - While holding gps on phone press middle mouse button or wheel button to have a full view about the map. ..Thank me later
So refreshring to see someone know what they're doing. Most other playthroughs I've seen so far have taken a long time to get a grasp on things, probably because they're streamers who feel like they have to enetrtain for every second rather than learn.

The creepy monster you can see from inside the cave could be the monster from the original game you couldn't access/interact with that was just stuck in the observation room and looked like it's body has just expanded to fill the room and was covered in holes (might have been eyes)

Yeah, generally need to set up a lumber area and zip lines to build areas… I built a Huge base on the lake of 4 rivers. Upstream All over I had huge cutting areas with zip lines into the rivers. Worked great! I spent a lot of hours just cutting trees…

I started watching your old series a few months back and hoped that one day you'll do season 4 of the forest. Well I guess I got something even better :))). Glad I'm here from the start
if you build on a lake in the winter when the ice freezes the lake come summer the building will get a free brace to keep it floating in the middle of the lake. add a zip line and you have a perfectly safe base in the summer

Regarding the rebreather in the first game The Forest you could "exploit" the rebreathers light by diving into water activating the light when you leave the water it dims down switching off, however if you get the light on exit the water and quickly go into your inventory then exit it the rebreathers light should remain on which in turn will give you the ability to use the active light on the kit as you have it equipped this helped me and some during the night and mostly navigating the dark caves without the use of flashlight or your lighter! It might just work if the same game coding for rebreather is used in this game try it yourself!
not sure if you got that far but you can build on that lake how wait till winter it freezes over but you will have like 5 in game days to do it only last that long start at bank with bridge to center of lake or where ever you want house at :)
Besides from minor bugs, this game is much more fun than the first, in terms of building, and exploring, especially with the cannibals lurking in the underbrush, it makes combat more exiting. looking forward to the patch in 12 days :D

Im guessing the side of the base thats open is towards the lake for a natural barrier , if so your in for it when winter comes and the lake freezes 😁😁😁. I did the same with my 1st base and the lake i was on FROZE and the cannibles literly walk right over it on into my base lol.

We played this shortly after launch and while it feels like a pretty solid foundation of a game... it didn't have much "game" in it. Are we missing something? We built a small cabin to experience the building mechanics then started running around looking for caves. We just ran from cave to cave only stopping to build a quick fire and cook some basic food every so often. As far as we can tell, all caves have been explored, we have all the items unlocked, and there really isn't a reason to keep playing. Never found a reason to actually build a base considering they don't have crafting benches or anything else that is special in your base outside of maybe growing some plants? But for what purpose? You don't actually need anything considering we found MOUNTAINS of loot to the point we couldn't hold most of it and we were leaving food, meds, and other resources behind everywhere. Game isn't bad, but it just feels like there isn't any actual reason to play it or goals to push towards.

I am glad they removed the custom foundation blueprint mechanism, this will force players to think and make realistic cool bases. They have nailed it on creating beautiful island and immersion. Of course content can be added in later updates so i am not worried about it.
I actually build in the same spot just on the other side of the lake and I’m running out of trees within 100 meters of my base, I know trees regrow but it takes along time, maybe they should speed it up a bit? Idk

it would be pretty nice if they made it so you could slowly recharge your “sleep” bar by sitting in chairs (like the bone chair), would put a use to the feature. of course it won’t replace sleeping because it would be difficult to play in the dark but it would be nice for a bit of energy
I'm surprised you made a new world for the lets play and didn't decide to make videos of when you first played the game. It would have been fun to see you react to this game for the first time instead of you already speedrunning it. :3
The only thing I don't like about bases by water, is the same issue from The Forest. The sound of water. It's pleasant at first, but the more time that goes by, you start being annoyed by it, and wish it was quieter, so you can hear other things better. I haven't found a good way to quiet it down without making other things too soft.
thats so weird. when the game came out, my first time playing the game i ran around, found that same spot, and made a cabin at the same spot you did, and if it can get more weird, my cabin is very similar to yours lmao. and this was before i watched this vid
Your house looks really cool! I had no idea you could make roofs like that. I'm going to build the same house in the same exact location on my first playthrough.
