Well done. Not only do you get to see a part of Japan that isn't overrun with tourists but you get to find some nice deals as well. More people need to go out and explore the countryside instead of getting ripped off by the specialty shops in Akihabara and Den Den Town or online resellers.
What store are the Pokemon cards in? I notice you keep the Hard-off logo in the bottom right, but aren't the cards usually in book-off? Are they ever in hobby off?
Oh yea this shop actually had the Pokémon cards in the hard off! This one surprisingly had a section for cards/pokemon in every part so book off, hobby off and hard off had one in each, just the selection was lower in book off and hobby off so I just put the hard off footage in the video
@@japanesecowboys Oh, cool, thanks! That's really interesting that they'd split it between the 3 and even a little surprising that out of the 3, hard off is the one that had the biggest selection. Do you just travel to Japan or do you live there?
@@TheMooster88 I live in japan! but i travel back to the states alot so I try to record my hunting as much as I can when Im back in japan! so stay tuned for more videos!
Great question! It’s actually not necessarily broken but they’re sold as is! So when hard off stores buy people’s games and they already have enough stock of the console OR it just cosmetically doesn’t good enough to sell for their full price, they just don’t even test and put them in the ‘junk’ section!
So I’ve actually bought 2 Nintendo 64’s in the JUNK section for 500 yen each about $3.70 USD and both working perfectly fine! Only cosmetically not as good
Thanks for the answer! I'm going to Japan in January and plan to check out the hard-off/book-offs in the cities we're visiting. From videos I've seen, the junk sections have some interesting items but I wasn't sure if they full-on broken or not. If it's only the appearance, it doesn't matter to me because they're for personal use. Cheers!
@@requipknight5610 yea its definitely a gamble! but out of the many times Ive bought even games for N64, theyre perfectly fine! The only ones I stay away are ones that obviously look broken like usually DS consoles are unhinged or have really broken screens, so those I dont recommend unless youre going to fix them etc
