Summer fishing has been a hit and miss at the river. Granted I only bank fish. Some days I crush it other days I'm lucky to get a bite.

Summer fishing has been rough. It’s so hot this summer. I fish a lot of ponds from the bank. They put up no fishing signs at two of my favorite spots recently. I don’t have a ton of places I can fish deep water from the bank anymore. I caught a few good ones maybe 3ish pounds. I’m ready for it to cool down though for sure. Thanks for the video brother.

I havent been fishing in almost a month, but i cant wait to get back to fishing. Ill be going after my favorite fish species for a full week. That being the longnose gar. Very difficult to catch, but cant wait. I will also be catching my 2nd favorite fish is the largemouth bass. @@LoganAndersonFishing My setup for moving baits is a Cashion Icon 6’10ML with a Shimano Aldebaran BFS using 7lb Sunline Sniper flouro. For topwater and flipping mini Texas rigs into cover I’m using a Shimano Zodias 7’2ML with a Shimano Curado BFS and Sufix 131 10lb braid. The little Spro popping frog 40 has been killing it lately around cover.

My topwater lures near a dam is a 130mm plopper and a 4.75 to 5" wqlking bait like the sexy dawg, heddon super spook and generally i use a hard knock version. Those seem to work better for striper and hybrids anyway.

How do you fish a big/deep body of water?? I’ve been trying to find fish in deep water lately and I’ve had a hard time. I try to get close to the bank line but idk if I’m going deep enough.
