I am a Daiwa guy, I use a Daiwa Prorex 400 with a Skeet Reese 9'6 big swimbait rod. It's the bomb. Tatulas are way too small, I'm a Trophy Striper Hunter and need drag and line capy...I only throw big swim and glide baits. I just found a Berkley E Cat rod from a few years back those are monster rods for swimbaits
Shoot, out here in California you’d most definitely need bigger gear! Those 2 set ups might be good for 6-9lb bass but if you hook into a Cali monster ( 10-15lbs plus ) you’d be hard pressed to keep either of those rods in one piece and the gears in either reel functional after… not to mention if you were to “accidentally” hook into a 20-30lb striper 🏄🏼♂️🎣🤙🏻
I bought a lexa 300 win & a tatula 7'9" tatula swimbait rod few months ago on a sale. I think I paid around 150-160 for each. I've been very happy with both. My first swimbait set up. Looking back I would got tatula 200 just because I don't feel I need that big of a reel after fishing it for few months. I'm definitely a Diawa fan now
I fish a abu garcia ambassador and a custom build rod I made so spend what you want or learn how to build what you want and the ambassador is from pre 80s so fishing with a tank rod and reel and beefkake arm
I like these drt videos just bought a ghost today cant wait to use it been catching em on the Tiny Klash pretty good as well caught 5 fish so far on it an a massive bowfin but all the bass where over 3 pounds.
Am I having deja vu? Because I could swear I watched this one yesterday evening. Mater of fact I know I did. But, I can't find it in my history. It's worth a second watch though.
Man brother, I love the Tatulas. Now I do like the 300, but either way the Tatulas are nice. Hell I have em on all my Megabass swimbait rods, regardless of series, Levante, Orochi xx and Destroyers. If they catch fish and it makes ya happy, fish with whatever ya like. I think alot of those guys say dumb crap because they want to make swimbait/glidebait fishing an elitist sport. One of these days before long, I'm gonna make my way from Charlotte to fish with you guys. I'd like to fish Fontana with a guide. Good fishin to ya, thanks for keeping it real!
No doubt! Couldn’t agree with you more across the board! We’ve been catching some hammers out on Tana this week on swimbait! Would love to dial you in on how we do it out here!
I'm with you my casts are short, my 200 series work great, also I want to see what is chasing! On another note, the DRT Klash's seem to be magic, fish just glom on to them! Do you have any thoughts as to why? Do they seem to be a better bait than the Deps 250?
