I had a black in my ranked game the other day and I was excited to get carried. He didnt radar once the whole game and when I asked why he said he was running speed boost...

I was thrilled when I saw the Black campaign pop up - IDGAF about the pacific tokens or spending 20k+ dubs only whales and crazy people would spend that - I'm just happy because I have around 300K coal just waiting for a new ship. Looking forward to to it showing up in the armory soon(ish). BTW, having to grind a potentially expensive campaign just to earn the opportunity to buy the ship is disgusting.

New Peeps needs to watch this because remember... it's torps are more like sea mines..... NOT A TORP BOAT!!!!

I'm gonna save my money. I don't like the idea of progressing through the smaller packages just so I can earn the privilege to buy the ship.

Black is definitely NOT the best T9 DD by a long way. Many DDs are preferable to Black.

Been saving my coal for nearly two years for USS Black. I'm just waiting for it to be released for coal. Please don't spend money on this campaign as it'll be free starting the week of 4th of July.

i rarely play Black, very slow torpedos....doesnt impact the game much against experience dd player

Luckily you don't have to do the nation specific missions to complete the campaign, they are bonus missions only. Regardless, can't wait to buy this thing for coal

I'd still stick to Jutland. Long hydro is good for screening for the large botes, heal is good for sustainability, 360 turrets give you maneurability, and single launch torps let you launch from surprise angles.

Dude, you would have great sucess in every fucken ship you would use in ranked - you are a really really good player and it depends not on the ship you use to win games

Heard about the Loyang? faster ship speed, smoke, radar and faster torps.

IIRC they said you can get the first two "bundles" thru the missions with tokens from that. The rest of the way has to be converted doubloons to tokens and then the final doubloon cost for Black. So with the coupons and discounts it was going to still cost around ~35k+ doubloons.

This is why I kind of hate that the Black is coming back. Too strong in T9 ranked. When it comes to T9 ranked DD meta, there's Black, and then there's everything else. I worry that it's going to get to the point where if you're not taking a Black, you're setting your team up for failure. End result: so many of my favourite DDs end up being port queens, and the team rosters are filled with USS Blacks. That's no fun, I think.

I got mine last night. She's inter😅to say the least, but I'm a torp😅 boat captain, and still getting used to depending on guns in a fight. That being said, she's been real good to me so far, the radar to spot them while keeping a 5.8 detectability is better than with my two Euro DD's. Add in the smoke and the 14.9 gun range (even if seriously floaty) makes her a fun ship. I've even killed a lot more ships with torpedoes than I thought was possible.

only thing I'm gonna get is the camo. I really want that camo. I've got like 500k coal so I'll just get her then.

This was my first steel ship. I was so angry when they removed it to eventually make it a coal ship. Steel used to be a lot harder to get.

Oh please ban Black from rank battle and Kearsarge too, these make game very very unbalanced. enemy position is most important to make game balance.

Nice video. One question: I really feel very confortable playind DDs so very tempted by Black, but I need lots of credits and I believe T9 BBs are the best at that. Should I buy Black with coal or go for a BB (Kearsarge) for credits?

The best DD in his tiers ! You say bad torps hahaha … with detection under 1 km no matter how slow they r and how hard they hit ? Or have quick the reload ? Black is must have DD but not for $$$. Was a reward DD in ranks like you say it …

It should be noted that the price you would need to pay is about comparable to a normal tier 9 ship's admiral pack upon release in the premium shop. Its not exactly a bad deal, given what you actually get (2 12 point commanders, signals, the special camo, flag and such)... but if you have the coal its probably better to wait.

you know what, I'll just convert all those pacific tokens that you get for free with missions for credits, gotta purchase the French bias machine (I got put on suicide watch after a clanmate showed me his build for competitive). Also you're right about the doubloon price of Black, it's 19.3k doubloons Also something I liked (and you can't blame me for that) I like the campaign, why you'll ask me, it's because of how it was written, it's written from the perspective of Black, not from any crew members whatsoever. There's one thing I can't remember, what did WG said about smoke+radar combo again ? On a final note, it's nice to see all those live ranked game in Black be used to put together a video.

when this was only a ranked reward it was fearsome to see it in game - an OP ship driven by an OP player. i grinded six ranked seasons trying to get one, only getting rank1 3 times. now all the potatoes will buy one thinking they're buying its reputation and it'll be garbage and i have no interest anymore.

Best T9 DD is Friesland/Groningen imo, I'd take 100k more DPM and smoke/hydro over Black any day.
