Great stuff again Anthony. It may all seem pretty mundane for a bloke like you that works on cars everyday... but seriously... for the average non-mechanic (or mechanical numpty like me)... your vids are gold. Really appreciate you taking the time to post these vids. Cheers. 🍻
I agree! I have very little mechanical aptitude, but after watching so many of Anthony's videos I'm nearly at the stage where I'm going to buy some tools and start to give some of the less complicated regular maintenance jobs a go. Only because the way that Anthony explains everything. Obviously there's a lot I dont understand yet, but that's ok because it leaves me room to learn and grow! Without these videos, I'd still be blindly oblivious!
My coolant reservoir tank overflow pipe has been broken by the previous owner. There's no black pipe in a 90° angle existing there, just a small open hole to the reservoir. How critical is this small black overflow pipe thing? Can I manage without it, since there's just an open hole now without the overflow pipe
Have you got a video on changing the thermostat on 1of these I've seen the 1 were it's located on the side of the engine but have you got any videos on changing 1 thay look very awkward to get to any tips please 🙏
I have just purchased a second hand prado and not sure what coolant is currently used. Would this method be fine to drain and replace with Penrite coolant?
That’s a good question. I’d like to know. I assume the Toyota pink super long life is different so a flush with soft tap water or demineralised water would be best. Getting a concentrate would allow you to compensate for the water still trapped inside. Just my thoughts. Would love to be corrected!
@@Fourby4Dieselis toyota tmo chemical coolant more better than this ,tmo comes with 30/70 ratio which one has highest boiling point i sear hed it on google but did not get exact answer plz every websites tells different stories n things😢
That block plug is a bugger to get to. Alternatively garden hose flush via the heater hose followed by a deminalised water flush. Now for a story. Instead of doing it myself I had a new radiator installed on my Hilux 1KD.FTV along with a new water pump, Serpentine & Timing Belt. etc by a very highly regarded independent workshop I have used before on big stuff. They have now joined my Butchers List. They filled it up with Green Hybrid (HOAT) 😢😢 NOT Toyotas recommended Red full Si-OAT Type A & Silicate free. If you are feeling anal Toyotas Pink Extra Long Life Coolant is arguably worth the few extra $ but unfortunately only comes in max 5 litre Premix otherwise it's Penrite Red or equal.
I’m a bit illiterate, when you referred to Toyotas recommendation of Si-OAT you also stated silicate free. Do you mean that Si-OAT and OAT (si free) can be used?
