The best modification that I made to my SP-2 was the fitting of magnesium alloy wheels,and replacing the rear shock with a Fiske unit,enhanced the handling beautifully.

Hi, why did you fit magnesium alloy instead of carbon wheels? Thanks
@darkknight1340
@darkknight1340 3 года назад
@@Ignas2fly Basically,it was down to the cost,the carbon wheels were very pricey.

Still one of the best looking bikes the sp1 especially underpriced vs rc30 or rc45 considering it's a wsbk champion in America they called it the rc51

Good mods, I would add remove quieting gears and a crankcase release valve (HD drag racers use them) good for another 2.5 rwhp. Biggest problem is the stock ECU and cooling once mods are done. Don't know anyone who has unlocked the ECU?

An incredible video, will do the same with mine sp1 in 2-3 years time. Starting from bst carbon wheels. Why does this guy use magnesium?

Hi there, Jay uses - as do I - Dymag aluminium wheels.
@adamsmallman9602
@adamsmallman9602 3 года назад
Adding answer. We both use Dymag aluminium as carbon is at risk of ham-fisted tyre fitters.

@@adamsmallman9602 Hi is it really such a fragile process? Or if it done by poper mechanic taking time will be ok?

Are the airscoops enough for trackuse or better to put an radiator kit for example from febur?
@mjaymo
@mjaymo 3 года назад
Scoops are more than enough unless you live somewhere very hot.

400Kg less than stock, that's huge.

I find it very difficult to believe that his bike is FOURTY kilos lighter than standard! I know the exhaust is heavy, but other than that and maybe 1 or 2 kg in the wheels, where the hell is the extra 20-30kg coming from?!
@Ignas2fly
@Ignas2fly Год назад
I think he ment if full tank vs dry weight when reduced weight 🙂 40kg definately too much. My durbahn sp with carbon seat unit, and 10ltr plastic tank under seat with carbon tank dummy, full carbon fairings, battery, light wheels, full titanium exhaust and etc.: small things weighs 163 dry

I have the radiator fins ..but I hear yeah they work..and no they don’t !
@mjaymo
@mjaymo 3 года назад
They do if you have pusher fans, not so much if you have OEM pullers
@canadapainter658
@canadapainter658 3 года назад
WHAT do we need to do to reduce its weight to 179 kg with full tank of fuel... I assume 164kg dry,, ( what do I need the change or take off to get to 164kg dry)
@adamsmallman9602
@adamsmallman9602 3 года назад
Assuming yours is standard, replacing the weighty cans (I use Arrows), wheels (Dymag UP7X aluminium - carbons if you feel confident they can be looked after during tyre changes), battery (if you can find a reliable lithium brand) and aftermarket aluminium clip-ons will help. After that, it's harder to make the difference cost-effectively.

Wheels, exhaust, remove side stand, half the subframe, lipo battery, lights, horn, air injector nonsense, race loom, titanium bolts everywhere, Renthal bars, 520 C&S conversion, carbon where possible, lighter brake calipers, rear underslung kit, Brembo RCS and levers, SBK discs, T1 airbox, billet rearsets, no pillion pegs or provision, yokes, track bodywork. Then lighter, pistons, crank, rods, cams, remove quieting gears.. that's a start to lose the weight 😁
