Montreal is Canada's 2nd most populous city but it is also home to one of Canada's BEST TRANSIT PROJECT and maybe even one of the best Transit project in North America! The REM!

Only five of the intended 26 stations of Montreal's REM or Reseau express metropolitan have opened, but this project already appears to be one of the greatest in Canada, if not North America.
This project, which connects the south shore to downtown Montreal, is unlike any other in Canada; the entirely electric system includes automatic platform doors, a first, and with only 5 stations and one 15-kilometer route, it boasts a daily ridership of 25,000 people. The project begun on August 1st, and the first week was bumpy.

If you haven't you should do a video on Edmonton's Valley Line LRT which will finally open in the next few weeks after 3 years of delay... It was top open its 13 km, 12 station (South-Eastern) Phase I in Fall of 2020... And well here we are... Everything from COVID to cost overruns to prematurely tracking piers that needed to be retrofitted to all the wire signaling needing to be replaced it seems like a jinxed line. Ironically the second Western phase out to Lewis Estates via WEM seems to be running on smoothly with pier and beam construction by WEM already being done this week... If all goes according to plan that phase will open in late 2026 or early 2027... Meanwhile it also looks like the temporary northern terminus station at Blachford will not open at all this decade because the whole airport redevelopment is also years behind schedule AND the station is opened at the opposite end of the site nowhere near where houses are being built...

Can't wait to see the system expanded even if the Eastern Leg seems jinxed at this point... All metros should be automated and have platform screen doors by now. To think this is still a rarity especially in North America seems a tad sad...
