Hello Internet, just checking in to say my Benchmades are working great and I've never had an issue.

I hate to be that one person we always talk about, but one of my three benchmades, a bugout, has had omega springs break in it twice. When it happened the first time I was frustrated but I sent it in for the spa treatment. By the time it FINALLY came back I already had the bhq exclusive bugout so I rarely carried the stock one. But I took it out one day and they broke AGAIN. Extremely annoying! They don’t get much use just light fidgeting sometimes but the fact that it happened twice really bugs me. Ps, i read somewhere that it’s a bigger issue in places that are more humid which makes a ton of sense given that I live in Houston tx 🙄

I am sorta new to the knife hobby. First Benchmade Contego had one omega spring break after having it for less than a month. Didn't feel like sending my new knife back into benchmade so just bought some springs online. Still like benchmade tho... don't care much

@@graniumhdz419 agreed, I still like benchmade even though I’ve had the problem twice. Sending in for the spa treatment takes quite a while(haven’t sent it in for the second time yet). Where did you buy the springs? Trying to avoid shipping my knife off for a month!

@@cameronmyrick9930 I believe I got them off Ebay. There are two sizes, so make sure you get the one that is appropriate for the type of knife you have. I live in Arizona btw. So not sure how much of a role humidity plays in the omega springs breaking

Hey guys, just checking in! I've had a handful of Benchmade knives with the axis or bar lock, whatever you wanna call it. None of them have ever failed on me. I've been switching between a mini griptilian and a barrage for the past few years in my "rotation" and they're both still in perfect working order.

I have the Kershaw 1776 Link with 420HC, assisted open and GFN. It was a killer deal at US$39. Nice to see Kershaw offering US made knives at super affordable prices. I would love it if Kershaw offered this knife with a slightly upgraded steel option (even if the price went up by 10-15 dollars). But, it is super sturdy, super functional utility knife made in the USA. I love this knife.

Love all of these selections. I have a hard time choosing a favorite. Though Chris Reeve would be the top if they still made the sebenza 21. Every time I take it apart to clean it I am amazed, the deepness of the hex hardware, good luck stripping those screws, the Allen key fits about 1/4 inch into the screws. The amazing hollow grind with a robust tip. Every thing tells me the sebenza 21 is an heirloom quality knife. The lock was made to last, the hardware made to last disassembly after disassembly. You can resharpen it over several lifetimes without the edge getting any thicker. And one tool fits every screw. A sebenza 21 could be handed down father to son for generations. The 31, inkosi and umnum also have all but one of those features. But that 21 lockup is the best I've seen. Please Chris Reeve, being back the 21.

Yeah hogue do produce great quality knifes and really like the new one they are doing together with sig sauer and couldn't have been a better collaboration between two of the best companies in their perspective businesses. In fact I'm hoping that my boys will gift me the auto version for Christmas, I've been hinting to them that's what I want. LOL I haven't talked about anything else, so I'm almost 100% sure that's what they're going to get me and would be a great gift. The one that I showed them was the coyote version in desert tan, it's beautiful blade is almost 4in long and made of CPM-S30V stainless 💪🏼😎. We are located in AZ and have some of the best freedom loving laws in the country, so the length is no problem to carry and doesn't have to be visible either. It's the same with firearms and used to be that we had to have a concealed carry in order to have one would have to be visible, but changed the law a few years ago and no longer have to have a permit to have them concealed. Just like the old west, we've always been able to openly carry and is a libturds nightmare lol 😂

I buy almost exclusively from American knife companies, but more than that, I only buy American made knives from those companies, e.g. I love Benchmade and Kershaw, whose American made knives are made in Oregon, however, they also have knives made in other countries or use steels from other sources too, Spyderco falls in this category as well, whose best stuff is made in Colorado, but some product is made in other countries, which is fine, but I prefer to buy the USA made knives. Then there are my favorite all American made knives: Chris Reeve and Medford, who make their knives in America, and use American materials. Tops and Bradford are great American companies too, most of my fixed blades are from these companies.

Hi. I understand that US Americans want to buy American knives exclusively in order to support local businesses. But that has to do with ideological approaches rather than with quality. Several Asian manufacturers are on par if not better than most American brands. For me as a German, it basically wouldn’t make any geographical difference between buying an American or a Chinese knife. I „pay“ for getting a probably better knife for less money by supporting a business style that exploits their workers, at least some of them do. Not always easy. BTW, I do have US made Spydercos, Benchmades, Hogues etc.

Chinese knives served as my gateway drug to top shelf knives. If I had never got my Kizer Gemini and my Artisan Cutlery Tradition, I would have never stepped my game up to my favorite USA brands (Hinderer, Spyderco, Medford, ZT, etc.). If you only have $75 dollars and you want a quality knife, I would probably suggest a Chinese brand. But if you got $300+ to spend comfortably, then USA brands are big boy quality knives! 🇺🇸 🔪💕🔪

I totally disagree on who makes the best USA made otf. That would definitely go to G&G Hawk for sure. Their dead lock is rock solid with zero blade play

Not a production company. They make customs. I mentioned exclusions on custom makers in the video, and I labeled Microtech specifically as "production" 😉

before I watch the vid, I'm guessing Hinderer and Protech and ZT for it's association with Hinderer and Benchmade for obligatory reasons and Microtech because 'gahh Microtech so amazing' and and Strider and Medford will get left out because someone got mad one time because the owner said a thing and I'm just being a troll hope it made you smile.

The idea that American knives are somehow automatically better has thankfully been proven completely false REPEATEDLY over the years. Not only are there knives just as good or better than American knives being made elsewhere for less money, American companies have gotten absolutely arrogant. Benchmade and Spyderco in particular have gotten so expensive you might as well just bump up to a midtech. I feel fortunate I found Hogue. Out of all the knives I've purchased recently, ONLY my Hogue Sig K320 came with satisfactory blade centering and action.

I like the design of hinderer knives & they are made well, now if he could just learn how to heat treat!! I mean come on every other company is doing magnacut at least at 62.5 except rick... 60hrc! 20cv, 60hrc! WTF!!

I have my problems with America, lots of problems and injustices. But it's my country and I wanna support small businesses and companies here to bring the economy back up and make it better. I've always supported individuals and small businesses it feels like a true moral obligation for me. When the AD20 gets back in stock I'll definitely be getting it. I respect Andrew Demko as well.

I love supporting American companies even ones that produce almost all their knives overseas *cough cough* Cold Steel *cough cough* ugh had something in my throat...moving on I've been on a bit of a Benchmade kick lately because they discontinued the Presidio in aluminum and Nimravus drop point so I bought those as quick as I could and I have had NO problems with their QC at all even with my long gone 940 the bad fit and finish everyone talks about with Benchmade I have never experienced any of it. Never had a omega spring break on me never had an uneven ground blade maybe I'm just lucky idk but I always support American companies when I can. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
