Hello everyone,
In today's video we visited Waihi Beach and tried a burger at Surf Shack Eatery. Both were amazing experiences! We also saw the best views we have ever seen (so far) in New Zealand. Hope you all enjoy!
Sincerely,
The Foley Family

Looking at some parts of path in the video i feel like I'm in Middle Earth from movies and books i read. Views of sea are gorgeous too.

We had a beach bach (holiday home) here in the 80's when i was a kid and i used to go to Orokawa most days.. id cycle down up the beach, chain my bike up and then head over. The track was a bit harder then as you go around the coast on the last hill where as before it was a steep climb up and down to the narrow track leading to the beach. As for swimming there you can but you just need to be careful and know what to look for rips wise.

Not far from home! Check out cathedral cove at some point if you head towards Whitianga.

Ironically, even though we use kilometres, when we're saying that something is very far away, we still say it's "miles away" or that we drove "for miles". What's nice about it is that there's no ambiguity about the exagerated context, cos if we were implying an actual distance we'd use kilometres.

There are so many amazing beaches in NZ but the Pacific ones are especially nice, you guys will be able to make many memories on them with your kids as they grow up.

Try omokoroa beach, another hidden gem. Only a short drive from Papamoa, it’s very kid friendly, great playground and popular for a picnic day at the beach.

Amazing views, thank you for the watch, What I wanted to say to you both is that, you guys are so pleasant and careful about how you pronounce our Maori place names, I give you 100% support on that, as we see how you try your hardest to pronounce them as best you can, don't be to caught up on it, at least your trying your best, that's what matters the most, and it's awesome to see that you apologize for not pronouncing them correctly, but honestly, a lot of Pakeha people that were born here, still can not pronounce them correctly, I am more disappointed in them, as they really do not have any excuse what so ever. So thank you whanau for your outstanding and considerate efforts.

Something you guys might want to be aware of come summer time... Waihi Beach and Papamoa are both clothing-optional beaches by custom. I don't know how you feel about that, but it's the kind of thing people tend to prefer to know beforehand than find out by surprise.

If you go to Ohope Beach,it's a spit,a beach on one side, and an inlet on the other, back in the day,we used to dredge for scallops in the inlet, and twice a day on the other side,at 5:30 on the hour,Tuatuas,a type of clam, shell, delicious.

I guess growing up in NZ and living here all our lives we take our beaches and summer holidays spent at them for granted. West coast beaches are different again, rugged and a bit wild with a real beauty of their own. There's nothing like a walk on Karekare beach (west of Auckland, near Piha) to blow out a few mental cobwebs.

Awesome video guys and it sure is a hidden gem. I loved it when I went. If you thought that was beautiful I can't wait to see you guys discover the rest of the Cormandel peninsula especially my favorites Hahei beach and Cathedral Cove, where they filmed the movie Narnia.😊 👌

God in heaven that's a trip down memory lane. Many are the summers spent at both waihi. and the mnt. You should also check out waihi township roughly 30k inland its associated gold mine then take a trip through the karangahape gorge to pearoa and associated Waikato valley. You could then take the alternative route home over the kaimais. The view from the top is breathtaking

Wish I could say the same! I was walking up a track from Peregian Beach Qld. There are signs about Brown snakes that live in the dunes. I had just had the thought "I had better be on the lookout for snakes" when one slivered across my path less than a foot ahead of me!

Many structures on public tracks are quite old. They're maintained by DOC or the department of conservation who do a fairly good job despite financial constraints

The Foley family hits the trail! Loved seeing this from your perspective and really enjoy watching Charlotte learning as she goes. Totally cute. Amazing backpack/baby carrier btw. A quick suggestion that when Mrs Foley is working the camera, take a little more time and pan slower. Mr Foley has it perfect. Oh, and maybe a bit more in the description box so l can refer to you all by first names maybe.😆 Loved the vid, keep 'em coming.👍🏻💖

Daniel- I literally said the exact same thing to her (Alyssa) on the way back to the car park on our hike. I mentioned she needs to be more steady and smooth with the camera so that is humorous that you mentioned that. 😂

Don't believe your eyes, this is winter, ; November to April, that beach will be super busy. You can always take a doddy bag with you for emergencies and drop it off in the doggy bin. Watch the edge, while filming from the hieghts.
